I certainly won’t spend a thousand words explaining this wonderful chart from Larry Bartels.  Basically, income growth is continually stronger under for all income groups under Democratic presidents (it is about equal for the highest income groups) and inequality increases markedly under Republican presidents.

And if Rick Perry becomes President?  Here is another picture showing how his “tax the poor” strategy has played out in Texas.

In other words, more of the same of what we’ve gotten from Republicans over the past 60 years.  Slow growth and growing inequality.
