Trump’s CIA speech still reverberating, and not in a good way

Former intelligence officials continue to denounce the former game show host’s arrogant “all about me me me me” speech in front of the wall honoring operatives killed in the line of duty:

Former CIA Deputy Director Philip Mudd on Tuesday slammed Donald Trump’s “disgusting” speech to CIA officials over the weekend, telling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, he almost wanted to cry after the president’s self-aggrandizing presentation.

On CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Blitzer asked Mudd to comment on Trump’s speech Saturday, wherein the president focused almost exclusively on his “running war with the media,” and what he perceives as unfair coverage of his inauguration crowd size.

Trump’s speech even drew a rebuke from former CIA Director John Brennan, who said he was “deeply saddened and angered” by Trump’s display.

Tuesday, Mudd echoed Brennan’s sentiment, telling Blitzer, “You almost want to cry, Wolf.”

“I mean there’s a sense of outrage, but there’s also such a sense of sadness,” Mudd added. “Those aren’t stars, Wolf. Those are people.”

“We have a president who has to talk about how many times he’s been on a Time Magazine cover in comparison to a football player,” Mudd later added. “He has to talk about how many people showed up at his inauguration. He’s got to talk about how many people in the CIA enjoyed his speech. That’s what we get to honor the people who lost their lives.”

    He is not well … hell, he is sick and twisted. If the politicians can’t Article 25 him then it is going to be up to the people to remove him some other way. Perhaps the intelligence community can help with that. For the sake of America, stop the looney toon president.

      House Repubs would only impeach Donnie, if their Trump’s weren’t corrupt.

        They will replace him. Problem is, it will be with Pence. The GOP can’t afford to have tRump embarrassing them for that long. They do have to have support from their base though to do it. They are just waiting for it to become painfully obvious to their base that removal is necessary. The narrative will shift soon enough to the necessity to replace tRump, for the benefit of the conservative right wing voter.

          Reagan and his entire cabinet were positive they’d be impeached and convicted for illegally selling Iran weapons, barred by congress. And that Treason was before Ronnie was even elected.

          POTUS Pence is Not gonna happen, unless they lose the house & Senate. …Not gonna happen…

            We will see about that. We are living in different time and things are moving quickly. The window for the GOP to act so they can make some gains off of replacing tRump won’t be very long, they will have to act, in order to profit from tRump. If they don’t act, they will pay a price they don’t want to pay. I am betting on that selfish motivation and desire for power to move things along. History be damned, these people want it all and they want it now. They will act.

    I’m surprised this didn’t get more press but I’m getting used to what the press calls news…
