Education nominee failed to report anti-union donation

But to Betsy DeVos what’s $125k?

…Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Education initially failed to disclose a $125,000 donation to an anti-union group ahead of her Tuesday confirmation hearing, the Trump transition team has confirmed.

The Washington Post reported the omission, first flagged by the Democratic group research American Bridge, on Friday afternoon….

Betsy DeVos, a major conservative donor and charter school activist, declared $5 million in donations of $200 or more in a disclosure to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, the Post reported.

Her $125,000 donation to Protecting Michigan Taxpayers, which successfully lobbied against a ballot measure to add collective bargaining rights to the state’s constitution, was not included.

The omission comes amid protest from some Democrats that the Trump transition team has tried to rush the confirmation process and paper over incomplete disclosures.

$125,000 donation, small change, just slipped her mind

Unfortunately you are correct. $125K to her is like a quarter ( 25 cents) to us common folk.

Ugh, those are going to be the worst. They may make Clarence Thomas look reasonable.

125k says she doesn’t like teachers unions

    • Larry Schmitt January 14th, 2017 at 23:40

She doesn’t like public schools at all, and they’re the only ones that have unions.

Not surprised at the least in either the failure to disclose or her anti-union agenda.

Much of the effort to undermine teacher unions and labor contracts is funded by entities with a substantial financial investment in the private school industry.

please, americans, stop giving these things credential like the word “entity”. They are a collective of non-entities.

even for fkhead rump, there must, I hope, be people out there in the wild west who are actually qualified to do some of these chores without any conflict: just a devotion to country – or is the last part I wrote an absurdity?

I don’t know about ‘absurdity’ but really unfortunate.
