Predictably, Trump attacks John Lewis

President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday morning returned fire on a top Democrat who said he was not a “legitimate president.”
A day after Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said Trump was not legitimate, the president-elect told him to worry about his own district instead.
“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” Trump wrote in a series of tweets.

Because attacking a civil rights icon is so presidential. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bb4778e196e98eac87529eb9efdc9f2fa12dbd5ca9327f0eca4343628eef6ce7.jpg

That may be the first time the words “Republican” and “civil rights” have been used in the same sentence without a negative between them.

Lewis represents his district at the national level. If crime is the issue then Trump should reach out to the Governor of Georgia (Nathan Deal – R) and the Mayor of Atlanta (Kasim Reed -D). Also Georgia is number 20 by state in the order of violent crime with 1 being the worst. The top 6 are Republican run. Of the next 14 – 8 are Republican, putting 14 of the top 20 in the Republican run bucket.

Many Republicans, especially those younger, have no idea who Lewis is and what he went through in the 60’s. Because they have no idea what happened back then and choose not to educate themselves since that might make them rethink things a bit. Not sure what Trump’s excuse is, probably in 1965 he was too busy dodging the Draft to follow events.
I recall back about 2019, Lewis was heckled at some event by some Teabaggers, Lewis said they used the N word. One of my right wing friends referred to him as a stinking liberal liar. I asked what he knew of Lewis, nothing. I wound up telling him that if he said they called him a N then by God they DID.
Trump is going to tear our nation asunder.

Remember, Trump judges a person’s qualifications to lead based on the depth of one’s deviousness rather than the depth of one’s wisdom.
He evaluates a person’s net worth based on the value of one’s portfolio rather than one’s value to their community.

That piece of work that appointed Jeff Sessions as Attorney General having any respect for John Lewis? That will be the day.
