Obama: Sometimes ‘I lost the PR battle’ because I didn’t mobilize public opinion

President Obama is willing to own up.
Click here for reuse options!CBS released a preview clip of President Obama‘s 60 Minutes interview tonight in which the president acknowledges his failures in shaping public opinion about his policies.
Steve Kroft starts out the exchange by telling Obama, “You didn’t change Washington.” Obama immediately took issue with that and said he was able to change things that was in his “direct control,” stating, “We’re part of the first administration in modern history that hasn’t had a major scandal in the White House. In that sense, we changed some things.”
He lamented how Republicans didn’t work with him more before getting around to something similar to what some observers have noted about the president: he was a more effective communicator in campaigning than in governing.

I don’t blame you Mr. President…
I blame the ignorance of Americans who fell for the lies of Donald trump.

Obama’s weakness was his faith in the American people.
The Tea Party beat him at the PR game because they used Americans’ stupidity to oppose something really good for them.

Remember what Marcus Aurelius paid someone to remind him of:
“You’re just a man. You’re just a man.”

I don’t think Obama understood how stupid many Americans really are. You can’t win a war of words with the likes of Rush, Fox etc. by stating facts and being nice. He needed to attack and attack hard, grab the headlines…just like Heir Dumph is doing now.

You didn’t lose anything, Mr. President. As a matter of fact, I thought (and many other Americans, I would imagine) you did an excellent job, especially in the face of perpetual obstructions.
