Guardian: FBI sought warrant to look into Trump aides’ ties to Russia
The FBI believed there was enough to investigate.
Click here for reuse options! An official in the US administration who spoke to the Guardian described the source who wrote the intelligence report as consistently reliable, meticulous and well-informed, with a reputation for having extensive Russian contacts.
Some of the reports – which are dated from 20 June to 20 October last year – also proved to be prescient, predicting events that happened after they were sent.
One report, dated June 2016, claims that the Kremlin has been cultivating, supporting and assisting Trump for at least five years, with the aim of encouraging “splits and divisions in western alliance”.
…The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.

So the FBI has proof the Trump campaign was colluding with Russian operatives …
In this alternate universe that will mean nothing however, if we were talking about Hillary colluding with Russian spies …. well, let’s just say the conversation would be different.

Because having a secretary of state nominee who is in the pocket of Putin isn’t enough. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/d317fab03cc98ac03047099be891b123045fc5018d0758de1e9aafb7a2ffc405.png

Watched Rubio (yes, THAT Rubio) and Menendez grill Tillerson this am about these very issues, including his lobbying against sanctions on Russia and Iran. Tillerson actually defended his actions, saying that they might hurt US businesses….duh, Menendez had to remind him that national security issues take priority over business profits.
Tillerson came across as a stooge, an avaricious fool who has no clue about anything other than making Exxon richer.

If the FBI does have something, they will act after Mr. Goldenshowers is in office. They will probably be happy to see Pence as president.
