Dylann Roof has “no regret” about what he did.

During the sentencing phase for the South Carolina man convicted of killing nine at a black church in 2015, federal prosecutors revealed he is incapable of feeling remorse.

It’s just not an emotion Dylann Roof has extended to the nine victims he fatally shot at Emanuel African Methodist Emanuel Church, they said Wednesday. Roof was convicted last month of 33 federal counts in the deaths of the black parishioners…

“I would like to make it crystal clear I do not regret what I did. I am not sorry. I have not shed a tear for the innocent people I killed,” he wrote, and later continued, “I have shed a tear of self-pity for myself. I feel pity that I had to do what I did in the first place.”

    I’m not really a supporter of capital punishment, but every once in a while a case comes along that makes me think differently. This is one of those cases.

        Obviously he is very mentally challenged. I don’t normally think people who are this messed up should be executed. But then I look at someone like Charles Manson who is out of his mind and think, why did we allow such horrible evil to stay on this earth? What did it cost the good people of the country all these years when that money could have been used to improve the chances for inmates that were stuck in there for stupid drug charges who never killed a single person?

          From what I heard, he basically asked for it. No one testified on his behalf and I believe I read that he said he deserved it. It’s a complicated issue for me along the lines of what you said.

          Sure, he’s obviously got mental defects, but he seems to understand the difference between right and wrong, and now, just like any other rebellious youth, he’s sticking out his chin and declaring “he ain’t sorry he did it.”
