FBI director won’t say if they’re investigating Trump/Russia
Maybe James Comey learned what “mute” means.
Click here for reuse options!Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday that he was not able to confirm or deny that his agency was investigating potential links between Russia and the Donald Trump presidential campaign.
Democratic Oregon Senator Ron Wyden asked Comey about Russian media reports indicating that the Russian foreign minister claimed to have been in contact with Trump campaign officials. “My question for you, Director Comey, is has the FBI investigated these reported relationships? And if so, what are the agency findings?” he asked.
“I would never comment on investigation whether we have one or not in an open forum like this,” Comey said. “I really can’t answer one way or another.”
“Will you provide an unclassified response to these questions and release it to the American people prior to January 20?” Wyden pressed. January 20 is the date of Trump’s inauguration.
“Sir, I will answer any question you ask, but the answer will likely be the same as I just gave you. I can’t talk about it,” Comey responded.

The FBI needs another Mark Felt to try to keep them honest

At what point previously do think they were “honest”? Frankly, I don’t have that much confidence in the brand.

when he said he can’t confirm or deny and can’t discuss it, King said, the irony that you would say that here.

Yeah, can’t answer any questions that won’t keep Democrats out of office. Sounds just like the FBI. The old J. Edgar Hoover FBI.

Comey said about his Clinton investigation campaign dumbfuckery:
“We don’t ordinarily tell Congress about ongoing investigations, but here I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed,” Comey said. “I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record.”
They say that the FBI motto is “Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity” I think we should add “Hypocrisy.”
