Democrats rebel against ineffective DNC
The dissatisfaction with party leadership that is out of touch with too many segments of a diverse party base has surfaced with a month to go until the party elects a new chairman:
Democrats around the country are demanding change from a national committee they say has focused too heavily on the White House at the expense of governorships, legislatures and state party operations.
“It’s got to be helping us organize in our states to be able to build that power at the state legislative level,” Michigan Democratic Party Chair Brandon Dillon said of the Democratic National Committee, currently searching for a new leader. “We’ve lost governorships and state legislatures at a rate that is pretty astounding.” …
“I love President Obama, but he and his administration allowed for the deterioration, the terrible deterioration, of the state parties over the last eight years,” said Mark Brewer, who led the Michigan Democratic Party for 18 years.
Obama has announced plans, though, to improve Democrats’ down-ballot fortunes once he leaves office. …
State officials say it’s been hard to plan long term and recruit and train candidates in off-election years due to inconsistent funding from the DNC. Under Dean, the national party installed and paid several staff members in each state. But that program ended after Obama’s election. State parties began to receive monthly payments of anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000, an amount that varies depending on the year. At some point, the parties have received no money at all. The DNC does provide some money to state parties for elections based on the state’s competitive races and other factors.
The change has left some states scrambling.
The Nebraska Democratic Party, for example, paid five full-time staff members during Dean’s tenure. But when Dean’s “50-state strategy” ended, it was hard to keep one and pay the rent, said Maureen Monahan, a vice president of the Association for State Democratic Chairs from Nebraska. Some states, such Mississippi, do not pay their party chairs. Even in Michigan, a staff that once stood at more than a dozen now is between five and seven employees, party chairs said.
“The past eight years we have not had any focus on the state parties,” Monahan said. “There’s been a sense that the DNC is a building in Washington.”

When they quit kissing the ass of the oligarchy looking for handouts. They really don’t need their money, they need the support of the people and their money. Politics is a numbers game about people not just dollars. When they start to care about all the people, more or less equally, they will move into the future and do better.

I found it kinda pleasing to hear the Minneapolis Star Tribune say:
“In Minneapolis City Council races, so far there’s left, and further left.”
Moving farther to the right will NOT help anybody but the right themselves.

President Obama needs to step aside and take vacation and allow the next people to step in, especially since he handpicked The Debs, but compounded his mistake by keeping her on and on and on to the tune of approximately 31 repub/bagger governors with state houses, and both Houses lost and 4 Supreme Court seats that could be lost over the next 4 years..he’s done more than enough thank you…NEXT!

In the mid-eighties, the Democratic Party Leadership changed. The leadership turned to the Hollywood Elite and the Rich Crowd. The emphasis was put on money gathering. They left the common working folks behind and ignored them. It has been getting worse ever since. This past election showed their direction had FAILED Completely. Hillary was a fine Candidate but she thought wrongly that TV and Newspaper ads wold suffice to keep the working white class Happy. IT FAILED ! People want to be talked to and not just assumed to support. Pres. John Kennedy was the Last Democrat to reach across the rope line and shake the hands of the People. Not since the Sixties has a Democratic President Candidate reached out personally to the common man or woman. Get the Damn Cocktails out of your hands and stop ignoring the CITIZENS or DIE !

Unless politicians are willing to work for their constituents, it’ll never happen. All politicians are in it for the money they’ll receive once they give up politics and become lobbyists for the corporations who greased their palms when they were in office.
