Clear Democratic front-runner for 2020
It’s someone entirely new.
Click here for reuse options!…the new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll has identified an overwhelming front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
It’s someone entirely new.
Literally. Not an identifiable person. Just “someone entirely new.” When that description was included on a list of possible contenders, 66% of Democrats and independents said they would be “excited” to see such a person jump in the race; just 9% thought he or she shouldn’t run. That’s an overwhelming yes-please-run score of 57 percentage points for, you know, whomever.

The Democratic party has to stop being so naive and delusional. If they
don’t get a dynamic, well spoken, young, well known and popular person
to run Republicans will bulldoze over them in four years. An ‘entirely
new’ unidentifiable newcomer with no name, to run against Trump? Sounds
kind of silly. It’s almost like they haven’t noticed the juggernaut
machine the Republicans have is nearly indestructible.
We can hope
Trump will kill himself with his twitter account and his mouth and screw
things up so bad that people will want to run him out on a rail, but we
can’t plan on it. The plan has to be to resist everything they want to
do and clearly show what the republicans are actually doing. Cutting
social security benefits, reducing medicare coverages, increasing out of
pocket costs, practically eliminating all taxes for the rich and
corporations? Most Trumpets never knew they were voting for that. They
thought a wall was going to be built and brand new sparkling clean
factories were going to be built outside of town. The Democrats never answered that.
Someone “entirely new” sounds pretty desperate, just the opposite what the Democrats need to be.
Willys41 December 22nd, 2016 at 13:52
Yes, Democrats have to stop being so naive by picking people who actually have brains. What we need is someone who sounds like a dimwit. Someone who just spits out bumper sticker slogans all day and all night. Someone who tells EVERYBODY exactly what they want to hear and never mind if he or she contracts himself or herself 400,000 times a day. Never mind if they lie. Never mind if they vomit up bullcrap. Someone, in short, just like Trump and Palin and all the other mental defectives of the GOP.
Oh and promise everybody MASSIVE tax cuts and never mind if it would destroy the economy. No one in America knows or cares what an economy is.
gerald sornee December 22nd, 2016 at 18:08
Yeah, what we need is an apologist who draws Red Lines in the Sand of the Mid-East and when Push comes to shove, he’s AWOL! That’s leadership??
Hirightnow December 22nd, 2016 at 20:52
Trump is doing that, and you can bet cash money he’ll let his
handlersadvisors take charge, while he huddles in Air Force 1 @ 50K feet.dewired4u December 23rd, 2016 at 00:04

If the popular vote doesn’t mean sh*t anymore
I hope the new dem can pull rabbits out of hats 🐰
gerald sornee December 22nd, 2016 at 18:05
The Popular vote means the same now as it did when it was first used. It simply does not override the Constitutional requirement of obtaining the majority of Electoral Votes. All the candidates in Election 2016 Knew this when they entered the campaign.
robert December 22nd, 2016 at 19:44
If 2 million + means less people wanted Hillary in office I could see where you have a point
gerald sornee December 22nd, 2016 at 20:06
irrelevant. her support was California, New York and one or two other large urban areas … the rest of the Country didn’t support her thus Trump won the Electoral College. Hillary simply failed to understand how to play the Electoral game…which is odd considering her vast political experience. Bill told her not to ignore the working crowd….she didn’t listen to him.
Obewon December 22nd, 2016 at 20:20
Faux News:”her support was California, New York and one or two other large urban areas …”-neoclown fooled again by bozo the clown news readers.

The blue areas are suburban/city and the red is rural.
bpollen December 23rd, 2016 at 04:07
Well, in Northern Minnesota, from Duluth up into the Iron Range is pretty rural – small cities and towns. Yet still quite blue. Kind of an outlier, I guess.
trees December 23rd, 2016 at 15:49
See that blue area in Cali?? That blue area in NYC??
That’s your “popular vote landslide”….
Obewon December 23rd, 2016 at 20:25
“See that blue area”-twig? Totaling 21 states won by 48.2% popular vote winner HRC. U.S. Elections: Trump 3rd from last! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/515df1abb6071359ea96d6a3fa897c466db30aca4c4e2aade4bc20b9bc51220b.jpg

lol…. She won 19 states…and part of ME
Trump won 30.
Obewon December 23rd, 2016 at 22:59
You think we have 49 states! Does that include D.C.? D’oh! USA’s states and territories total 57.
Start with California, where Clinton beat Trump by almost 2 to 1, amassing a margin of more than 4.2 million votes. That’s a victory more impressive even than Obama’s in 2012, and it included a win in Orange County, which had sided with the Republican in every presidential election back to 1936.

When did DC become a “state”..lol..
ME divides the EC votes…whoops…
Count is correct.

Doesn’t understand how ME works….
And thinks Hillary won “TX”

lol…

You’ve well proven yourself errant, logic free and dumb as an ignorant tree stump.
trees December 24th, 2016 at 17:33
lol….. Who won the Presidential election???
A) Hillary Clinton
B) Donald Trump
“But..but..but….Hillary won California….”
Tell me brother, is Hillary the real winner of the Presidential election??
Hirightnow December 22nd, 2016 at 20:49
Take one, just one state away from Trump, and he would have lost the EC.
But I suppose Texas doesn’t have “large urban areas”, eh?
trees December 23rd, 2016 at 15:48
306 electoral votes.
270 electoral votes secures the win.
36 electoral votes over the 270…
Take away, what? NC… that’s 15 EC votes…
Hmm…
How bout Ohio? That’s 18 EC votes…
What about PA?? That’s 20…
Wait…
I know…
FL. FL, right?
Mmmm…FL= 29 EC votes….
MI = 16 EC votes.
So, she lost by a couple states…
I’m wondering why you would want to run someone other than the one who won the popular vote?
Hillary 2020!
Let’s do this!!!
Hirightnow December 23rd, 2016 at 22:30
Texas has 38. And a LOT of illegal immigrants.
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
robert December 22nd, 2016 at 23:01
She won my state ( not mentioned above ) along with several votes across the country
You seem to be cherry picking this issue
dewired4u December 22nd, 2016 at 23:58
Not. California has more EC votes than 10 mid west state The russians releasing the wiki-leak emails and comey’s email BS and fake news is what defeated her.
Glen December 22nd, 2016 at 23:39
Elizabeth Warren is rather new in politics (compared with most other options)
Do it, America. Think of her as the real-world version of Lisa Simpson, the one to become president after Trump in order to clean up his mess.
liberalMD December 23rd, 2016 at 07:13
Comrades! Are you still commiserating Hillary’s loss and not studying your Russian? Putin pulled off the big one in rigging the election and by the time the next presidential elections comes along, you’ll need a red card (Red=Russian=Republican) just to be able to entering a polling place because Putin’s now got his foot in the door. He’ll be entering the US via Sarah Palin’s back yard, so I’ve heard.
trees December 23rd, 2016 at 15:51
I think Michelle Obama should run in 2020…..
Now, who’s with me???
mistlesuede December 24th, 2016 at 01:15
She’s not with you. I just watched her program with Oprah. It ain’t going to happen. She’s put up with enough abuse as FLOTUS. There was a new story regarding that today.
Mister Atoz December 24th, 2016 at 01:22
After watching how her husband was treated who can blame her? He got abuse for just being black. She’s black and a woman. The RWNJs would lose whatever is left of their minds. I hate to say this but, after seeing how Clinton was treated, I wonder if some LWNJs would, too.
The sad thing is she would be a great candidate. She tells it like it is and doesn’t take %$#@ from anyone. She really does go high when they go low.
Imo, they have earned a well-deserved and happy retirement although I’m certain both will be active in very important ways.
ProgressiveUp-VoteBot December 24th, 2016 at 01:24
So very true. My Social Justice Warrior mentality and white guilt is never-ending, too. (((Besos))) Hillary 2020!
Mister Atoz December 24th, 2016 at 01:35
It (down below) followed me here. Sorry.
Mister Atoz December 24th, 2016 at 01:36
She would be a great candidate but she’s not interested.
Obewon December 23rd, 2016 at 23:08
Senator (D-MN) Al Franken & most any Dem should be able to defeat (R) Putin / (R) Trump 2020 by 2.9 M votes and win the EC.
Q: How close are the two candidates in key battleground states?
A: Three thousand votes are all that separate Clinton and Trump in New Hampshire. The margin is about 12,000 in Michigan, 27,000 in Wisconsin, 68,000 in Pennsylvania and 113,000 in Florida — close, but nothing compared to the 537 votes that separated George W. Bush and Al Gore in Florida 16 years ago. 11/23/16. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/11/21/election-results-electoral-popular-votes-trump-clinton/94214826/

Why wouldn’t you run Hillary?
I mean, she garnered the most votes ever. She won “the popular vote” by millions….
If it wasn’t for a bogus FBI investigation and the Russians’ hacking of the election she crushes trump….
C’mon now, let’s shatter that glass ceiling!!!
I’ve already got the campaign slogan,
“The Sky’s the Limit” Hillary/Michelle 20/20!!!!
