Nance: Ten years ago Trump would have been on trial for treason
Intelligence expert Malcolm Nance says ten years ago Donald Trump would have been on trial for treason for his embrace of Vladimir Putin.
Click here for reuse options! With host Joy Reid warning that Trump might turn Voice of America into a “Putin-like media outlet,” guest Malcolm Nance said the problem goes far beyond that.
“I’m not sure he [Trump] has heard of Voice of America, that’s not a joke,” Nance said. “Let’s not laugh at it, it’s actually scary. But for the most part, if he finds out that he can have his own version of Russia Today, his own version of Sputnik, two propaganda arms that took over from the Soviet Union’s Pravda, it could be exceptionally damaging.”
“But I want to come to a point that was made a little bit earlier,” he added. “When did all of this happen to Donald Trump, right? He met Gorbachev. He was a big supporter of glasnost. At some point, he was co-opted by Vladimir Putin. and that means he bought into and embraced the dictatorial ideology that was done by a spy master of the KGB. Ten years ago, 20 years ago, there would be treason trials. I would like to bring one point up. because long ago there was a guy named Yuri Bezmenov, a KGB officer, and he wrote,’This is who the KGB targeted and recruited, egocentric people who lack moral principles and who are too greedy or who suffer from exaggerated self-importance. These are the people the KGB wants and finds easiest to recruit.’”

I wonder how many of the Hillary Clinton electoral college electors are going to vote their conscience and flip their votes for Trump?
If they do, will those of you who like to talk about the constitutional duty of these electors, will you support Hillary Clinton electors voting for Trump???

I’d say between zero and none. Voting one’s conscience and voting for Trump are mutually exclusive.

What you should be wondering about is how many EC voters are going to vote the way the framers intended, to prevent an unqualified person from taking office and to makes sure a candidate associated with a foreign power doesn’t take office oh ya and there’s the conflicting issues of his holdings. Work on that do something useful for a change.

I have to ask this, but… given the topic of this particular article, why is your comment about Clinton EC voters flipping in favour of Trump? The claim here is that Trump would have been put on trial for treason. I can only imagine that you have no counterargument, that you KNOW that Trump should be tried for treason… and you’re trying to deflect the discussion away from that fact by bringing up a completely implausible situation to get people riled up.
I must conclude that either you’re experiencing so much cognitive dissonance that you’ve fractured your own mind, or you’re nothing but a common troll, and an incredibly dim one at that.
For the record, no Clinton electors would have reason to flip their vote. If they honestly felt that Trump was worthy of the presidency, they would expect that Trump would win the EC vote anyway, and thus they would have no reason to risk lawsuits, etc, for no change in the final result and no real message.
Now, unless you actually have something on-topic to say, I think I’ll just put you in the “not worth my time” pile and move on.
