Intelligence officials fear Trump reprisals

The thin-skinned bully may retaliate, fear CIA officials.

Legislators overseeing the CIA and other intelligence agencies have told the Guardian they will be vigilant about reprisals from Donald Trump over an internal assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to ensure Trump’s victory.

Fears of retaliation rose within US intelligence agencies over a tense weekend that saw Trump publicly dismiss not only the assessment but the basic competence of the intelligence apparatus.

“When the president-elect’s transition team is attempting to discredit the entire intelligence community [IC], it has never been more important for the IC and Congress to guard against possible political pressure or retaliation against intelligence analysts,” Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee, told the Guardian.

“There is not just smoke here. There is a blazing 10-alarm fire, the sirens are wailing, the Russians provided the lighter fluid, and Trump is standing half-burnt and holding a match,” said Glenn Carle, a retired CIA officer and interrogator.

“The facts hurt, Trump won’t like the truth, and he will without question seek to destroy those individuals or organizations that say or do anything that he thinks harm his precious grandiosity.”

8 years of an Obama politicized government. The IRS, the DOJ, the DOD etc..

    Changes are coming….

    It’s what happens.

    • spacegod December 11th, 2016 at 21:14

With all these changes, how do you remain so dumb and obnoxious?

    • StoneyCurtisll December 11th, 2016 at 21:35

So what you are saying is…
Herr Trumpf is going to politicize the IRS, THE DOJ, and the DOD….
      Just in a different direction…

But I am shocked (not really) you accept the help of the former Soviet Union to put your team over the finish line…
Must feel good for you cozing up to Vladimir Putin’s bare chest….

Yeah, it’s OBAMA that politicized Gubmint. That’s one of the more ignorant statements ever to come from you, little Acorn.

Politics – noun – the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power.

So, by it’s very definition, gubmint IS politics.

The we can address the ABJECT HYPOCRISY inherent in your BS claim.

Republicans across the spectrum falsely claimed Obama wasn’t an American. But Obama politicized gubmint?

Republicans tried *62* times to repeal the ACA, but it’s Obama that politicized gubmint?

10 Benghazi committees, 252 witnesses (one witness called on BENGHAZI, Sidney BLumenthal, was asked about Benghazi only 20 times out of 550 questions,) 13 published reports, 3194 questions in total asked re: Benghazi (hopefully, some of them actually were ABOUT Benghazi,) 33 hearings, 1982 pages of published reports, 8 of 136 questions sent by Congress in a letter to Hillary ostensibly about Benghazi actually addressed Benghazi, and what did they find? Zero evidence of a stand-down order, zero evidence of intelligence failures, zero evidence of administrative wrongdoing for our millions, but it’s Obama that politicized gubmint?

The 112th and 113th congress were the LEAST PRODUCTIVE EVER, throughout our entire history. But it was Obama that politicized gubmint?

The Republican Congress threatened repeatedly to shut down the gubmint for partisan reasons, actually DOING SO one time, resulting in the ONLY reduction in credit rating the country has ever had, but it’s Obama that politicized gubmint?

Mitch McConnell, the leading Republican senator, the Senate Majority leader, said that the TOP PRIORITY OF THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS was making sure Obama only got one term, but it’s Obama that politicized gubmint?

Mitch McConnell threatens the president that, if he TELLS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE about Russian hacking in the election, he will publicly and falsely claim Obama is doing so for partisan political purposes, but it’s Obama that’s politicizing gubmint?

As such things go, you are a delusional sapling.

Wait until trump and mad dog start to clean out the Pentagon

    You haven’t heard anything yet

  3. trees December 11th, 2016 at 22:21

Time to clean house and get rid of the Obama political hacks….

You know, the guys who failed in their jobs, those who were responsible to stay on top of intelligence and inform the President. Short story, ISIS/ISIL didn’t fit the President’s narrative, if it didn’t fit we pretended it didn’t exist….

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/07/politics/isis-surprise-obama/

Oh, but now we’re expected to believe this agency, concerning who hacked the DNC, and Clinton campaign officials….

    Right?

The American people are tired of this…..

    (From the NY Post)

When did President Obama learn of Hillary Clinton’s “homebrew” e-mail server, through which she funneled even the most sensitive electronic correspondence as secretary of state? “At the same time everybody else learned it through news reports,” the president said in March 2015. According to newly released private e-mails among Clinton advisors, that was not true.

“Looks like POTUS just said he found out HRC was using her personal e-mail when he saw it in the news,” wrote Hillary Clinton for America spokesman Josh Schwerin upon learning of Obama’s contention.

“We need to clean this up,” replied Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s former chief of staff at the State Department. “He has e-mails from her — they do not say state.gov.”

Indeed. As we learned last month, Barack Obama used a pseudonym in e-mail communications directly with Hillary Clinton. “How is this not classified,” remarked Huma Abedin when confronted with e-mails investigators believed were Obama’s pseudonymous communications with Clinton, according to a report released by the FBI.

The revelation that the Clinton campaign was shocked by Obama’s claim he did not know about Clinton’s server seems to have spooked the White House, too. Press Secretary Josh Earnest immediately went to work cleaning up the president’s remarks.

“The president, as I think many people expected, did over the course of his first several years in office trade e-mails with his secretary of state,” Earnest said last March. “The point that the president was making is not that he didn’t know Secretary Clinton’s e-mail address. He did. But he was not aware of the details of how that e-mail address and that server had been set up or how Secretary Clinton and her team were planning to comply with the Federal Records Act.”

Circumstantially, this is all starting to look pretty damning. The president’s initial reaction was to make a misleading remark about what he knew regarding Clinton’s e-mail server because, per the White House and now the Clinton campaign, he did know of it.

Furthermore, the president or his staff went to great lengths to make sure Barack Obama’s name did not appear in any of those e-mails in which he corresponded with Clinton on her unsecured e-mail server.

Even Hillary Clinton’s own running mate could not bring himself to state on the record that the president was entirely honest when he told CBS News in March 2015 that he first heard about Clinton’s illicit server from press reports.

The president so routinely appeals to ignorance when asked about damaging news involving his administration that it’s become a cliché.

Obama claimed he was caught unawares by the scandals involving gun-walking into Mexico, the NSA’s spying on foreign leaders, Gen. David Petraeus’ leak of sensitive information to the woman with whom he was having an affair, the IRS scandal, the Veterans Affairs scandal and the Justice Department’s monitoring of journalists, among others.

Hey sparkey we’re talking about today, this election and all you do is try to justify the stealing of an election with bullsh*t propaganda taken out of context. Do it over .

      • trees December 11th, 2016 at 22:34

        Ummmm….

Stealing an election is what you on the left are currently trying to figure out how to do….

        • dewired4u December 11th, 2016 at 22:37

no we want to know that our votes mean something.

          • trees December 11th, 2016 at 23:01

They did mean something. You voted, the votes were counted, and you either won your state, or you didn’t…

Unfortunately for you, Hillary did not win the required number of states.

Now, you seek to invalidate the process.

Sorry, but that’s not going to work.

            Hillary lost.

            • mea_mark December 12th, 2016 at 08:29

The votes weren’t necessarily counted, that is a real problem.

              • trees December 12th, 2016 at 12:35

If you were allowed to count the votes yourself, you’d dispute the result when it tallied in Trump’s favor….

                • mea_mark December 12th, 2016 at 13:10

If all the ballots aren’t there because some were thrown out for nefarious reasons, you bet I would dispute the result. That is part of the problem right now with our voting system. Some votes aren’t being counted.

            • dewired4u December 12th, 2016 at 13:58

The votes weren’t counted because the machines are brokenand there are no paper ballots to count. You are missing the point the election was tampered with it that makes it illegitimate and it doesn’t have anything to do with who won.

Trump obviously doesn’t want anything from the intelligence agencies. He as much as said so himself. And really what the Hell does he need with the CIA?

Putin can tell him everything he needs to know.

Well rump did say he was being told the same stuff over and over in these briefings, I think this story proves it. I can see what these “security briefings” look like…..rump walks in the room, the brass shakes his hand. Rump has a couple babes walking around the room selling his ornaments and hats to the Generals. They exchange pleasantries and rump leaves while the officials express a loud sigh of relief that he didn’t ask for any information again.

    • mea_mark December 12th, 2016 at 10:24

That’s just way to plausible. ROFLMAO
