Bipartisan quartet of high profile senators says Russian interference ‘should alarm every American’
While the president-elect denounces the intelligence that produced this revelation, sane legislators are calling for a probe of Russia’s interference in the U.S. election.
Click here for reuse options! The group — two Republicans and two Democrats — called for an investigation into American intelligence agencies’ conclusion that Russian hacking was intended to help President-elect Donald Trump defeat Hillary Clinton.
“Congress’s national security committees have worked diligently to address the complex challenge of cybersecurity, but recent events show that more must be done,” said Sens. Chuck Schumer, the incoming Senate Democratic leader, Sen. John McCain, the Armed Services Committee chairman, fellow Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, and Sen. Jack Reed, the top Armed Services Committee Democrat, in a Sunday morning statement.
“While protecting classified material, we have an obligation to inform the public about recent cyberattacks that have cut to the heart of our free society. Democrats and Republicans must work together, and across the jurisdictional lines of the Congress, to examine these recent incidents thoroughly and devise comprehensive solutions to deter and defend against further cyber-attacks.”
The letter is an implicit rebuke of Trump, who has questioned whether Russia actually interfered with the election, including with hacks of Democratic operatives, and came two days after Trump sided with Russia over the CIA and attacked the US intelligence assessment of Russia’s role.

The Senate should be investigating why the Majority Leader ignored and hid what the Russians were doing while the election was going on. McConnell should be brought up on ethics charges as well as dereliction of duty.
The democrats had better not let this bullshit go away.

Americas entire system of democracy has been compromised by the intervention of a foreign government. The very foundation of representative self governance has been shattered as foreign entities have installed a puppet leader in the Whitehouse.
This should be the main alarming story on every news network in the country, but it won’t be.
We no longer have accurate news coverage based on truth and reality, we only have corporate reality shows vying for ratings.

We may have a Manchurian candidate, and most right wingers do not even care because their guy “won”.

We only need 4 republicans in the Senate to side with democrats and that will deny rump some of his most troubling appointments.

4 is allot with this far right party. Depending on what it is, Collins and Graham are the only two I can think of that would go against the party line.
And I can’t say if Graham is reasonable enough to do it when push comes to shove.

Well McCain and Rubio came out against his SOS pick also. I don’t know if any of these people would have the true courage needed to deny rump his pick, but it is something to hope for.
