Trump wants voting restrictions
It’s the typical Republican idea of trying to make it so fewer people vote.
Click here for reuse options!Stumping for Louisiana Senate candidate John Kennedy, Trump urged supporters to help elect the Republican state treasurer to the U.S. Senate, a victory that would give the GOP a 52-48 majority in the upper chamber.
But the president-elect also recalled seeing extremely long lines in Florida during the state’s early voting period ahead of Election Day, suggesting “many things can go wrong” with so much time allocated to allow citizens to vote.
“They had that long early voting in Florida. It’s so long, and so many things can go wrong when you have that long period of time, right?” Trump told the crowd in Baton Rouge. “That long, long, long period. Used to be you’d have a day, you vote. Now you’re going forever. Weeks and weeks.”

If we are going to restrict the time frame for the right to vote, then let us make it simple and apply the concept to other rights as well.
How about this. No one can take delivery of a firearms purchase, except on those days when voting is in progress for any given year’s election. You can buy ammunition year round. If you have to wait for the polls to open before taking delivery of that brand new pistol, you could always use a slingshot and load it up with all the ammo you bought.
Am I being facetious? Only to a point.
There should be more days to vote, not fewer. If restricting rights based on a calendar is such a wonderful idea, then why should it not also apply to the 2nd amendment?

The voting should last a week in every state, a single day, actually 12 hours or less to cast a vote is shameful…
It’s no wonder voter turnout is so low.

and it’s very difficult to vote when they’ve closed more than 800 polling stations.

That was the whole point–make it difficult for people to vote–especially those who were most likely to vote against your party.

Used to be, you took a leisurely 3 ½ days to travel from coast to coast, and paid a decent 40 dollars to do so.
Used to be you had to avoid horse dung when crossing the streets.
Used to be, you only had to decide between a few channel on the television.
Used to be, you could expect a higher, more American death rate among infants.
Used to be, you could rely upon the random crazed individual with a grudge against the system to take matters into their own hand, andThings used to be a lot different, I agree.

Stop overcharging minorities in small crimes that a White person would get a slap on the wrist for!

Trump and his cronies in Congress have demonstrated that the following comprise their key objectives during his first year in office:
1) repeal the ACA
2) privatize Medicare and Social Security
3) eliminate workplace and environmental business regulations, and increase the length of the full-time wage-earner’s work week
4) slash federal economic assistance for struggling middle class families and the socio-economically downtrodden (Medicaid, SNAP, Pell grants, school lunch programs, etc)
5) cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy and major corporations
6) raise taxes on everyone else
7) make voting in national elections a privilege for the privileged few
8) make English the official language and Christianity the official religion of the United States
9) financially gut the public school education system
10) prevent public school science classes from teaching real science, and prevent social studies classes from teaching accurate U.S. History
11) outlaw public sector labor unions and neuter the political clout of private sector unions
12) repeal federal and state minimum wage laws
13) alienate women by outlawing abortion … period, by making it more difficult to obtain contraceptives, and by eliminating all federal funding for women’s preventative health care and domestic violence programs
14) rounding up Latinos that they believe might be undocumented, loading them into cattle cars, and shipping them out of the nation
15) alienate gays with their efforts to oppose marriage equality and defend homophobic intolerance in the name of God
16) alienate urban African Americans by implying that this demographic group is inherently lazier than other Americans and that they prefer “government handouts” over earning a decent income
17) persecuting Muslim Americans by characterizing them as terrorists
18) increase defense spending and invade Syria, Iraq (again!), Iran, and North Korea
19) transform the EPA into a branch of the American Petroleum Institute
20) guns, guns, and more guns. Oh, did I mention guns?
21) destroy our international trade agreements in the name of “nationalism”
22) criminalize the free press whenever someone dares to be critical of the Trump Administration
23) outlaw all forms of public protest that is counter to the policies being advanced by Trump
24) transform U.S. foreign policy to assure that it is in the best interest of … Putin’s Russia
25) Make America WHITE again

Since when are registered voters akin to easily distracted toddlers?

Well, some of them voted for Trump, so… if the shoe fits…
