RNC chair choice down to two

Donald Trump is deciding between Mitt Romney’s neice, Ronna Romney McDaniel, and Mike Pence aide Nick Ayers, Reince Priebus prefers McDaniel.

The different factions have also floated RNC official Matt Pinnell and Mercedes Schlapp, a former Bush aide, as possible co-chairs.

The 168-member RNC will elect the next chair by vote, but an endorsement from the president-elect is expected to be the deciding factor.

According to Politico, Trump is personally fond of McDaniel and appears to be leaning toward choosing her.
