Obama officials alarmed at slow pace of transition

Posted by | December 8, 2016 08:10 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Maybe if Trump spent less time watching television and tweeting his grievances, or canceled his victory rallies, he could get to work.

The slower pace applies not only to key appointments throughout his administration, but also to Trump’s lower-profile agency review teams whose nitty-gritty work with Obama’s career bureaucrats could make or break Trump’s pledge to get his presidency off to a barn-burning start.

Obama administration officials assigned to the transition say Trump’s representatives have been AWOL at some agencies, leaving them sitting on binders full of briefing materials that have been amassed since March.

The slower pace of agency-level transition efforts could have a real impact on Trump’s ability to quickly tackle big issues such as Obamacare, infrastructure, and immigration reform.

Can we slow it down some more? It would be nice if he was still working on transitioning in three years.

One cannot expect progress when one surrounds oneself with the south end of a bunch of colons. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6b6acc5e93bd93177130786a0acef30fc4a883b5491487b7e83eac95c6cfd0ef.jpg

The Deplorables are well behind in their transition but obviously well ahead in breaking and damaging national interests.

Maggot Trump is very busy grandstanding domestically and internationally with his stupid, misguided and ignorant pre-inauguration showing off with his little and dangerous governance knowledge.

He is making his choices simply by asking who will cause the most friction and that is who he appoints from what I have seen so far. He is just ripping off the band-aids with no form of remedy to cure the cuts beneath.

and of course, right wing idiots like Red Eye Robot, Trees and the rest of the comb-over brigades have not a word of criticism for their Dear Leader, even if due his own negligence he is unprepared to do his job on January 20.

I am really tired of right wing trolls coming to this forum with their BS. if someone is interested in an actual debate or discussion, fine. I can participate and be civil. RobertSnyder is one such person who when he does post, has something intelligent to offer, even if I disagree with it.

but most others simply are trolls, and I will treat them as such… we have at least 4 years of a Trump Presidency. So it is likely we will have 4 years of right wing BS talking about some kind of mandate for a President who lost by 3million votes.

When they mention ‘mandate’, just tell them, their mandate is to be a loser by majority vote.

“… worried about the slow pace of the transition…”
    Is that a bad thing?

Well it is hard finding the absolute worst person to cover the job.

    • mea_mark December 8th, 2016 at 15:19

Well, he is going to need plenty of people to blame when he fails. We all know that when he fails he won’t take responsibility, he is way too much of a narcissist to do that.

I believe you just found the only reason for his appointments that makes any sense.

It does fit in with his scheme of always deflecting attention away from things he doesn’t want people seeing or talking about. He is surrounding himself with tools for deflection and blame. He is ensuring that he will look good as much as possible by having people around him that can’t do their job well and that he can’t point to when needed to focus attention away from him when things don’t go well.

            Completely agree

Trump’s demand for a swimsuit competition is slowing things down.

Trump has higher priorities, he see the Presidency as a series of photo ops to enrich his businesses
