‘Explosive overthrow of Washington establishment’
That’s part of the inside headline from the NY Daily News:
Donald Trump rode a national backlash against the status quo into an improbable victory — defeating Hillary Clinton to become the 45th U.S. President. …
Trump, in contrast to former First Lady, senator and secretary of state Clinton, could become the first U.S. President with no political or military experience. At 70, he would also be the oldest person elected to the White House.
He managed to avoid serving in Vietnam with five draft deferments, including one for a bone spur.
The unfinished political business had an immediate impact on Dow Jones futures and Asian markets, with both plunging as the counting of the vote for President Obama’s successor lingered into early Wednesday.
Republicans appear set to control both the White House and both houses of Congress, giving a President Trump consolidated power and a free hand to carry out his agenda. The GOP had a firm grip on the House and was expected to retain its Senate majority. …
Many old-school GOPers, including both former presidents Bush, Colin Powell and Mitt Romney, declined to support Trump — not that he seemed to care.
In Texas, former President George W. Bush voted for neither Trump nor Clinton — leaving the presidential line untouched — before voting for other GOP candidates. Bush’s former spokesman Ari Fleischer did the same.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich, one of the 16 Republicans who ran against Trump for the GOP nomination, wrote in 2008 party nominee John McCain on Tuesday.
A Clinton victory, in addition to putting a woman in the White House, would have made her the first spouse of a former President to win the job. Bill Clinton was President from 1993-2001.

So let’s see: Trump spent the entire campaign telling other republicans what asswipes they are. I wonder what happens next?

The American people have just committed mass insanity, of course they were abetted by the RW media and their campaign of vile lies, the MSM that did not expose Trump’s stupidity, incompetence and racism, the Republican Party that passed voter suppression laws, the head of the FBI who deliberately damaged the Clinton campaign, but most of all by the huge number of those on the left both the fools that refused to vote for Clinton and the worst group, the lazy, worthless a$$holes that didn’t bother to vote. We are now faced with the reality of the crazy, racist, insane, religiously extreme party controlling all three branches of government. We can look forward to the banning of all abortions, the repeal of ACA, attempts to deport all undocumented brown people, tearing their families up in the process, more extremist religion in government, attempts to roll back all progress the LGBT people have made in the last 50 years, the destruction of the safe guards that protect the environment, a sharp increase in racism, more mistreatment of women, a trashing of the economy, attacks on freedom of speech, the crumbling of decades old alliances, an upsurge in Russian expansionism, China and India reversing their stance on CO2 emissions, which will speed up global warming. This is a doomsday scenario that Trump has promised and over 50 million of our fellow citizens have bought into, whether they realize it or not. There is a slim chance that cooler heads in the Republican Party will moderate the crazies, but they haven’t been able to do so as of now. America just voted to commit suicide.

About 57 million voters, have just changed the course of history, the direction of our country, and the world.About 56 million voted against.Where the hell were the millions of other voters, that quite possibly if they would have got off their lazy ####and voted, could have stopped this.Everything you stated reflects the policies that he has promised to implement.
The religious right wackos that he surrounds himself with, worry me even more than him,and they will now be emboldened to turn our nation back decades,as they will interprete this win as “godswill!”This may truly be the beginning of a long nightmare. With a majority of repubs controlling every facet of government, from where will come the restraining and tempering forces necessary to hold madness in check?

Looking forward to the British Foreign Secretary cementing the ‘Special Relationship’. Here’s a reminder of his views on the new President – http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/boris-johnson/12039931/Boris-Johnson-The-only-reason-I-wouldnt-visit-some-parts-of-New-York-is-the-real-risk-of-meeting-Donald-Trump.html

Interesting that a legal, democratic election is now considered an ‘explosive overthrow’.
But, this is something y’all punditry and blog-class fellows need to consider:
—–
In an implausible triumph after breaking seemingly every rule of presidential campaigning…
—–
Yes, I think every file, every memo, every ‘rule book’ on professional politics and its implementation need to be gathered up, and lit afire. The Republicans had a candidate at the beginning with a name (Bush), a record (FL gov), the backing of the Establishment, and a 9-figure bankroll. The Democrats had a candidate with a name (Clinton), a record, the backing of the Establishment, and an unlimited bankroll.
What did it get either of them? All that name recognition, all that money, all that Establishment backing, all that ‘conventional wisdom’ among their pollsters, handlers, analysts, advisers, etc… what did it get either of them?
Eight years ago, Democrats turned against Clinton in favor of Obama. Remember 2008? Many, if not most, liberal websites were absolute Hillary-haters (outside the feminist-based PUMA sites). I still remember the rationale… “We don’t need to return to the scandals and drama of the 90’s”… “If she’s elected, it will be 28 straight years of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton, with another Bush ready in ’16. We don’t need a Bush/Clinton Dynasty. We need new blood.”
And, eight years later, what do the Democrats do? The DNC clears the field for Clinton. As if they totally forgot the message of their own voters less than one decade earlier.
Republicans didn’t do much better. Despite the Dems’ rebuking Clinton in ’08, they were still ready to trot out Jeb Bush, right on schedule, as if THEY had also ignored that message of ‘no more Clinton/BUSH’ stuff.
Come 2020, if you hear anyone dare speak the names ‘Clinton’ or ‘Bush’ in reference to possible candidates, feel free to punch them in the neck and loudly shout ‘STFU’. Because you will be in the presence of the short-termed of memories, and it may take some physical therapy to jog their brains.

it’s about as democratic as piranhas eating a pig. when one vote one person is in place, call it democracy – until then it’s a blsht scam.
