Unemployment down to 4.9% with 161,000 jobs added in October
Click here for reuse options! The U.S. economy added 161,000 jobs in October, a solid gain, yet below the 191,000 jobs added in September, according to the Labor Department. It is the last look at the health of the economy for Americans voters before they cast their ballots.
Unemployment fell a tick to 4.9%. That’s down by half since 2009, when unemployment peaked at 10%.
October’s gains marked the 73rd consecutive month of job gains for the U.S. economy.
Wage growth — one of the last metrics to move in the right direction post-recession — continued to show signs of accelerating. Wages grew 2.8% in October compared to a year ago, the fastest monthly growth since June 2009.

The Obama Administration can falsify the state of the economy to it’s heart’s content. Households know how well they are doing and do not base their economic condition on political ploys.

Employment is up. Wages are up.
And no thanks to the GOP.

Yeah that’s right. Not to mention trump is a friend of the working class.
Bwahahahahahah

Trump and “working” are two words that have never been associated before.

Following 16 M private jobs, with 2/3 created by the BHO44 Dem $500 B Jobs stimulus, wages rose +2.8% this past year-The longest economic expansion in U.S. history!
U.S. Record $18.65 T GDP grew +4.4% APR in Q3-2016. $1 out of every $4 on Earth is spent within USA’s borders.
“Current-dollar GDP increased 4.4 percent, or $201.1 billion, in the third quarter to a level of $18,651.2 billion. In the second quarter, current dollar GDP increased 3.7 percent, or $168.5 billion (table 1 and table 3).”-BEA 10/29/16 = +$6 T BHO44 GDP! http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdpnewsrelease.htm BLS March 2014-> March 2014 Jobs Report – Private Sector Jobs https://www.flickr.com/photos/speakerpelosi/13630053153/in/photostream/

The worst year of debt for the US was 1946 due to the need to pay for WWII. The Gross
Domestic Product for 1946 was $228 billion and the National Debt was $271 billion, for a Ratio of Debt to GDP of 1.19.
Presently (2016), the GDP is $18.5 trillion and the National Debt is $19.4 trillion,
for a Ratio of Debt to Earnings of 1.05. This is better than 1946, but it is still very bad.
At the present rate of growth for GDP and National Debt under Obama’s economic policies, by 2020 the GDP will be $20 trillion and the National Debt will be $24.8 trillion, for a Ratio of Debt to GDP of 1.24, exceeding the all time worst Debt to GDP Ratio in US history (1.19).
You may think, “so what, why does anyone really care?” The reason everyone should care is that we are not in a world depression, only because the dollar is regarded as a reserve currency, that protects the world from debt disaster. But that is based on faith that the US could, at least in theory, pay what it owes.
If our debt reaches a level that destroys faith in the dollar the whole world will immediately be struck by hyper-inflation, followed soon by the worst economic depression in history. It will be far worst than the infamous Great Depression.
halfwayin November 4th, 2016 at 12:09
Total nonsense.
At what level will the faith in the dollar be destroyed?
$22 trillion and one dollar the tipping point?
halfwayin November 4th, 2016 at 12:14
Just imagine where it would be if we would have put Romney in office.
I am sick and tired of these righty’s that fight for tax cuts for the super rich like trump and bitch about the growing debt.

All the Dems out on the stump need to be shouting about this, and calling out Trump’s lies about the “disastrous” state of the country, the military, etc.
The media refuses to confront all the outrageous lies coming from Trump and his spox, so every sane pundit and every Dem needs to be fierce right now.

Real Median Income per family has barely moved during all of Obama’s Administration. Any potential gains will be more than wiped out by Obamacare premiums, deductibles and penalties.

We need viable labor unions.

Lighten up comrade, it could be worse.
StoneyCurtisll November 4th, 2016 at 20:14
Liar…
In 2015, the median household earned $56,500, adjusted for inflation, according to the US Census Bureau . In real terms, that’s equal to a $2,800 rise compared with 2014’s median household income—growth of more than 5%.
And the vast majority of Americans with health insurance are not covered under the AFA, they have private or employer backed coverage…

GDP growth is grinding to a halt.
oldfart November 4th, 2016 at 11:35
Implying that GDP growth is grinding to a halt, means that you are either lying or absurdly ignorant. The numbers speak for themselves.
Holding steady at 2%, could they get better, for sure.
Surely a genius like you could make that happen.
Mensa Member November 4th, 2016 at 11:52
Obama’s slow-but-steady economic growth is MUCH BETTER than the Republicans’ crashing global capitalism.

At least a Melania Trump accent. I think she was raised as a child in her Soviet bloc country to be a KGB spy. The Russians spent decades targeting some rich and stupid American. Then they made her a porn star to get his attention. Then the Russians played with our election so Melania could get into the White House. Trump is stupid enough to share national secrets with her, and the Russians march right in. It’s all true. I have as much proof of this as the GOP has that Hillary gave a stand down order over Benghazi. BRB, I need to call Alex Jones right away.
StoneyCurtisll November 5th, 2016 at 13:28

Had the republican party decided to care more for their country than their party,
Just think of how much better we ALL could be.
Mensa Member November 4th, 2016 at 11:38
Very important point — completely lost on conservatives.
Republicans did everything they could to block the recovery. That was bad enough.
But they also opposed an opportunity to build America.
Money was cheap. People were desperate for jobs.
It was an ideal time to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure — roads, airports, schools, telecommunications, bridges, etc. etc.
If the conservatives hadn’t blocked this, OUR ECONOMY WOULD BE ROCKING. #1 in the world with no close second.
But, the GOP didn’t want to work with Obama, so here we are.
Mensa Member November 4th, 2016 at 11:33

Go Hillary! vote to keep up the momentum!
I see posts bragging about people at the rallies,
big Trump rallies? yeah right, votes win elections
not Klan rallies, who exactly will be voting for him?
Hispanics won’t, Black’s won’t, Muslims won’t,
Immigrants won’t, Gold Star families and parents
won’t, educated people won’t, and of course women
won’t vote for Trump, even some GOP political leaders
won’t, they know he’s not experienced or qualified, he
has severe character flaws, he’s a liar, he’s a cheater,
he’s had affairs while married, he’s a tax cheater, he
defrauds people, he’s stiffed his workers that worked
on his projects, he’s been bankrupt several times, he’s
groped and assaulted women and bragged about it,
he’s a racist and a bigot and a misogynist, he’s a
narcissistic guy, America will stay a GREAT country
with an experienced and qualified woman leading it!
