Leaked script reveals q&a with Trump and black pastor was prewritten

Donald Trump’s attempt to ingratiate himself with a black church is being staged.

Instead of speaking to the congregation at Great Faith Ministries International, Mr. Trump had planned to be interviewed by its pastor in a session that would be closed to the public and the news media, with questions submitted in advance. And instead of letting Mr. Trump be his freewheeling self, his campaign prepared lengthy answers for the submitted questions, consulting black Republicans to make sure he says the right things.

An eight-page draft script obtained by The New York Times shows 12 questions that Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, the pastor, intends to ask Mr. Trump in the taped question-and-answer session, as well as the responses Mr. Trump is being advised to give.

The proposed answers were devised by aides working for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, according to an official who has been involved in the planning but declined to be identified while speaking about confidential strategy…

To the first question, “Are you a Christian and do you believe the Bible is an inspired word of God?” the scriptwriters have a response they hope will keep Mr. Trump from repeating previous stumbles when asked about his faith.

“As I went through my life, things got busy with business, but my family kept me grounded to the truth and the word of God,” the script has Mr. Trump saying. “I treasure my relationship with my family, and through them, I have a strong faith enriched by an ever-wonderful God.”

So Donald Trump’s outreach to black voters is nothing more than a scripted docu-drama?

Check that. A docu-drama is usually based on reality.

anyone with an ounce of common sense would know when listening to these responses that this is NOT the orange asses words. NEVER in a million years would he speak in this manner.

We know it’s not him, because the word “tremendous” is not repeated 17 times.

the script has Mr. Trump saying. “I treasure my relationship with my family, and through them, I have a strong faith enriched by an ever-wonderful God.

Should say ” I treasure my relationship with all my three wife’s and all the other chicks I banged through out the years.”

“That’s why I never had time to go to church. You can understand that can’t you Rev??

I still can’t understand why the “evangelicals” are supporting this phony

    • whatthe46 September 2nd, 2016 at 16:51

That’s because they are phony “christians” as well. You can’t call yourself that and support racism.

      • pinballsdoll September 3rd, 2016 at 10:14

They hide behind that label of christian. When he 1st started his campaign, I just didn’t think that people who label themselves as such could actually support him, with his profane and vulgar nature……..wrong

    • StoneyCurtisll September 2nd, 2016 at 18:18

Because they don’t know any better…(that’s why they are evangelicals)

Because they see Trump as a means to destroy HRC who they see as evil incarnate. They are willing to deal with one devil to destroy what they perceive as a greater devil. All nonsense, of course, all overblown, infantile fantasy. He also exemplifies the great pillars of fundigelicals: Lying, Hating, Fear-Mongering and Hypocrisy.

I think it’s just about abortion and their idea that freedom of religion is in peril, which we all know it is not.

    Reality check…
Trump offered this Black/CEO, self proclaimed Bishop, Wayne T. Jackson, and CEO of a Pat Robertson styled religious charlatan television channel…
An untold large amount of money to use them as a prop…..
This is the most disgusting thing I have even seen in the political arena….
I cannot believe there are no laws against this type of buffoonery..

    • Red Mann September 2nd, 2016 at 22:39

It’s another “Great Awakening”, another episode of madness sweeping the country, fed by the feckless liars of the RightWingNoiseAndLyingMachine.

      • Gary Parillo September 3rd, 2016 at 00:22

He has put together another popular reality show. Its,”What will Donny do next?” Hopefully soon to be in reruns only, and then forgotten forever. He’ll probably find a way to compile all the footage, buy the rights to it,and make another fortune. Those people attract wealth, the way I attract poverty.

How the heck do you have faith through your family? The way I understand it, each person has to answer for him/herself (if you believe); you can’t get in on the coattails of someone else (and that’s if we are to believe there are any “believers” in your family, which I doubt).

  8. burqa September 2nd, 2016 at 23:08

The first clue that something was amiss came when Trump’s answer to the second question included stage directions from the script….

  9. bpollen September 3rd, 2016 at 03:53

It’s not an interview. it’s a skit. Coincidentally, Trump is full of skit.
