Skydiver to jump with no parachute
Click here for reuse options! He’s made 18,000 parachute jumps, helped train some of the world’s most elite skydivers, done some of the stunts for “Ironman 3.” But the plunge Luke Aikins knows he’ll be remembered for is the one he’s making without a parachute. Or a wingsuit.
Or anything, really, other than the clothes he’ll be wearing when he jumps out of an airplane at 25,000 feet this weekend, attempting to become the first person to land safely on the ground in a net.

Should that be regulated or state-mandated in some way, Alan ?

It’s not that fall that gets ya.
It’s the sudden stop.

What does Alan have to do with it…people can decide for themselves…can’t they…???
Are you suggesting we should allow a plane to be manufactured or flown without regulating the integrity of it’s construction…??
Should we do away with regulating the pilot who can fly such an aircraft…one size fits all or anyone can fly if they want to…??? Which is it…???
Maybe we shouldn’t regulate the airspace he plans to fly in, or the insurance company who claims they have enough money to pay that policy he bought just in case…???
Bump the needle spary…you need some new material.

and then you wonder why people respond to you with hostility.
when you clearly demonstrate you have zero respect for views that differ from yours, it is supremely arrogant of you to demand respect.
assuming that your goal is to convince people that your views have some merit, your dishonest condescension changes no minds.
if you do not have a goal of changing minds so that people agree with your opinions, that is fine with me. the Libertarian Party can continue to muster single-digit vote shares for generations to come.

Sorry, Hapless, Alan is busy right now. Anyhow, drink your milk, it’s nap time.

Naturally it’s on Fox… I have to imagine he’ll be wearing a chute in case of emergency. It kind of reminds me of the ill-fated Snake River Canyon jump, which I’m barely old enough to remember. I just hope it’s real, not another Fox “Alien Autopsy” kind of show

The story doesn’t say when the funeral is scheduled. This is just plain stupid

No wing suit at 25 grand above ground add cross wind speed. I thought 10,000 ways to die TV series ended years ago ? They are probably getting new shows lined up

I am reminded of Get Smart…

Agreed!

I am astounded, gobsmacked, incredulous (insert any synonym you choose). He did it and survived to tell the tale. His wife and child were watching at the net. Can you imagine what they were going through? Amazing
