yeah, I really love this guy…Honest…tough…I was his fan when he was Cassius Clay…I remember that I put together a kit radio, just so I could listen to his Sunny Liston fight…oh boy, It was late on a school nite, and I was not supposed to listen…but my folks didn’t know about my radio…I went to school the next day just fine…and I was a happy feller…

Yeah, that’s where the fight was. Pretty strange location for a world heavy weight title fight.

Have you seen the movie “When We Were Kings.”?

It’s one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. It is a very nuanced film about “The Rumble in the Jungle”

I highly recommend it, even if you are not a Muhammad Ali fan.
The documentary touches on so many things — the 1970s, race, post-colonialism,and, of course, the complex personality of Ali.

Lots of Americans were against the Vietnam War but Muhammad Ali is a real standout. Not only was he before most people, he also made an amazing sacrifice. I doubt one in a hundred celebrities would do what he did.
