Republican chaplain tries to block Muslim nominee because ‘Islam and Christianity do not mix’

Pastor Trevor Gordon doesn’t mix with the U.S. Constitution, as he tried to stop a Muslim from becoming a precinct chair in Harris County, Texas.

Syed Ali, 62, who the Washington Post reports has been a Republican since the Reagan administration, was tapped to be one of those precinct chairs, before Gordon interrupted with his motion. Precinct chair Felicia Winfree Cravens was streaming the meeting over Facebook Live when the incident took place.

“Islam and Christianity do not mix,” Gordon said. “During my prayer, this man did not bow his head. During the pledge of allegiance, he did not utter a word. He didn’t even try to fake it and move his lips.”

“If you believe that a person can practice Islam and agree to the foundational principles of the Republican Party, it’s not right. It’s not true. It can’t happen. There are things on our platform that he and his beliefs are total opposite.”

Yet he overlooks the fact that both religions worship the God of Abraham.

So I would say, mixing is possible.

Now, THERE’S a good reason to hate someone. Y’see, Pastor Gordon doesn’t hate Muslims. His imaginary guy in the sky hates them. Therefore, since Christians have already decided that their guy in the sky supercedes all others, he’d have no choice but to hate the Muslim guy and his god – in Jesus’ name, of coursre.

The way I see it, religion – any religion – and government don’t mix. So why does a legislative body have a chaplain in the first place? If I had been there I wouldn’t have bowed my head either. I never do when I’m at a public event and they start with a prayer. And I never say the pledge either, because I think it’s meaningless. Would he try to have me thrown out?

What we are seeing is the Trump Effect…this is what is to be expected for a while…this can o’ worms has been opened…the more Trump spews his filth, the more we will see how diverse the crazy and insane really are…they have been simmering just under the surface, and now Trump has given them permission to get their “freak” on….
