Clinton: I’d put Bill ‘in charge of revitalizing the economy’

Posted by | May 16, 2016 09:54 | Filed under: Economy Politics

Hillary Clinton is discussing what role the First Gentleman would play.

At a campaign stop in Fort Mitchell, Ky., Clinton said her husband would be “in charge of revitalizing the economy.”

…Clinton often boasts about her husbands economic record on the campaign trail, leaning heavily on his record of raising wages and creating jobs.

That’s how Hollary can win big — tout her husband’s tremendous economic record. Vote for Hillary and you get two presidents for one vote.

    • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 11:05

That’s how Hillary will lose big. People will not go for that and it shows that she is not competent and needs help. It’s a loser strategy. Trump will have a field day with it. LOL!

      • fahvel May 16th, 2016 at 12:04

are you a doctor of dumb?

        • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 12:18

What, you support the screeching vagina?

          • granpa.usthai May 16th, 2016 at 12:43

I support the owners of those vaginas being able to decide for themselves what they believe is best.

            • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 12:47

I’m asking you if you support the screeching vagina. Do you have a problem with comprehension?

              • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 12:57

                There’s some intellectual heft!

                • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 12:59

I would like to have the question answered instead of a dodge.

                  • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 13:00

Then I suppose I should’ve put a comment after the original question.

FACTS and FIGURES mean a lot to those outside trumps WHITE bunker.

        • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 12:15

Which Facts and Figures would those be?

          • granpa.usthai May 16th, 2016 at 12:36

some of the ones listed by US News based on ACTUAL figures:

            to start with.

I’m sure that even if very few GOP’s can actually read, they can look at pictures/graphs?

            • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 12:43

              What actual figures? About what?

              • granpa.usthai May 16th, 2016 at 13:00

economic growth, job creation, GDP growth, etc. – if you google Which Presidents have been best for the economy and go to the US News site. Even though overall Bill Clinton ranks 3rd (behind Kennedy, Johnson for GDP growth) it would be more difficult for Hillary’s Administration to seek their assistance than Bill’s.

also, //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jobs_created_during_U.S.-presidential_terms has the % breakdown

                • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 13:45

Well US News can have their say, many people would argue against their conclusions.

Also, past performance is no guarantee of future results. I find it laughable that someone would defend Hillary based on people like John Kennedy, who advocated tax cutting as a way to spur economic growth. You could easily lump him in with republicans based on his economic policies compared to democrats today.

Bill Clinton specifically benefited from the rise of the internet and dot.coms during his tenure. He also had a republican congress that played an equal part in balancing the budget. Actually they played more that an equal part by forcing Bill to submit budget after budget until something sensible was submitted. he was dragged kicking and screaming into welfare reform as another example.

The putting Bill in charge actually makes her look weak as a candidate. I thought we were supposed to believe she is capable of holding the office. This easily hurts her with male voters and she is already in a bad pace with men. She is worse with men than Trump is with women.

        • dayanmao May 16th, 2016 at 12:53

Facts like NAFTA, bank deregulation and the foundation of the For Profit Prison Industry?

      • whatthe46 May 16th, 2016 at 12:55

The rump will have a field day? 4 time bankruptcy expert and fraud! ROTFLMAO!

        • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 13:00

But there is nothing to criticize Hillary about…oh wait! ROTFLMAORYVHFDSHKHHGKHMVCEX!!!

          • whatthe46 May 16th, 2016 at 13:53

tRump and his 3 marriages, and the adultery, and his fear of smart women, his obsession with his daughters body, his now wife a lesbian porn star, the racist, hypocrite, pathological liar, thinned skinned pansy, and so much more hands down he will win in the department of what he can be criticized on.

            • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 14:16

Bill and his 2,000 women. Hillary enabling that and even attacking the victims of his abuse and still trying to play the woman card. Hillary defending a rapist/molester years ago, and who recently lied to the faces of the Benghazi families about what led to their deaths. Hillary the panderer to blacks who with Bill played the race card on Obama in 2008. Hillary the incompetent SOS and liar about the email server scandal.

              Sorry, you are wrong.

          • whatthe46 May 16th, 2016 at 13:55

and of course none of this matters to you, you’re his favorite type of supporter, aside from being outright ignorant, and a racist, and a bigot, he calls you “poorly educated.” lol. your poor dummy.

            • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 14:07

Actually no, you’re wrong. Why do you people like? Do you purposefully get things wrong? It really seems that way.

First, I’m not racist, and even if I was I am free to be in a free country (at least for now). That goes for bigot as well. Ignorant, no, why don’t you point out why I am.

Also, you are wrong about poorly educated as well. Trump said he loves those who support him who happen to be poorly educated. Now, are there poorly educated people who support Trump? Yes, there are, that’s what happens when you appeal to so many different people like Trump has proven in the primaries. Should he not love those poorly educated voters as well as anyone else?

See, you are just a typical leftist tool, used and discarded each election by your supreme progressive rulers. So politically correct until it comes to people who disagree with you, then the hatred comes out. You are the favorite type of leftist supporter. Easily manipulated tool.

              • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 14:14

Trump says whatever is politically correct for the audience he is entertaining at the time.

He does a good job in wrestling and reality shows. Basically a carnival barker.

                “typical leftist tool”???
Thou doth project too much, Methinks.

                • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 14:33

“Trump says whatever is politically correct…”

Um, that’s the first I have heard of that LOL! Trump is the opposite of politically correct.

                  “…carnival barker.”
Straight from the leftist manipulated tool handbook.

“Thou doth project too much, Methinks.”
What exactly am I projecting? I’m not the one who is willing to allow my self to be used by career politicians who’s only goal is to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers while they sell the country out. That’s you.

                  • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 14:47

                    Of course Trump is PC.
For his fanbase, it would NOT be PC to say, “You know who USED to make sure that workers were legal?? Labor unions!”

“We had great, beautiful labor unions when America was great, and you’ve been duped all these years by conservatives into thinking that union members are thugs and that trickle down economics would work! “Well, diminishing labor unions and trickle down economics has made peons of you all!!!”

Now THAT would be politically incorrect!

I’m not the one who is willing to allow my self to be used by career politicians who’s only goal is to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers while they sell the country out.
You are the one who is willing to allow himself to be used by a pampered, narcissistic billionaire trust fund baby who grew up RICH in New York City, went to elite private schools, an Ivy league college, who schmoozes with the rich and famous, including politicians while greasing palms, and was a guest of George H.W. Bush at the 1988 Republican National Convention who’s only goal is to enrich himself and has already done so via bankruptcies and through the government trough at the expense of taxpayers while he and they sold and will continue to sell the country out.

              • whatthe46 May 16th, 2016 at 14:16

cry me a damn river why don’t you. and yes, the poorly educated that he loves so much all happen to be redneck, racist and damn inbreds that don’t know what’s best for them except hate. they are also ill-informed. and Obama’s coming for your guns, and jade helm, and FEMA camps, and muslims and every and anything else you fools come up with to scare the crap out of the idiots they prey on. and now it’s the gays and it’s the men dressing like women to harm your precious daughters in the bathroom. give me a break. you believe anything the RWNJ’s tell you to believe. build a wall, that’s about as funny as one can get. bet you believe that as well. and “why do people like you?” isn’t a complete sentence. damn.

          • oldfart May 16th, 2016 at 14:32

you can have what’s behind the box for successfully explaining what
            ROTFLMAORYVHFDSHKHHGKHMVCEX!!! means
            or
you can take what’s behind curtain number three.

            • Dr. Emmett L. Brown May 16th, 2016 at 14:34

I was goofing on you. You should have picked up on that old man.

well…good and bad…Big Dog did some things not all that good…NAFTA and the relaxing of the regulations on wall street, and the abandoning of the “Truth in Advertising” has led us to this time in our history…so, I’m not all that excited about that…I would put PBO in charge, before Bill…

    • oldfart May 16th, 2016 at 11:16

I’d sooner trust him picking out the curtains than having anything to do with the economy.

    • granpa.usthai May 16th, 2016 at 12:22

I think it’s a good move and will leave POTUS O open for the Chief Justice of SCOTUS.

The American general population (not the 2% with WHITE RACIST CHRISTIAN TERRORIST) will get a TRIPLE PLUS when voting for Hillary.

Besides (even with words not meaning anything to trump and his Krowd):

Keep speaking Hillary. You’ll keep providing us with more reasons not to vote for you.

    • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 12:58

That’s what they said about Obama…
      Twice.

      • dayanmao May 16th, 2016 at 16:37

Sure they did. Never heard it once.

        • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 16:45

          Are you kidding??
Were you paying the slightest attention???

Everything he said was deemed divisive, communistic, radical, and people (Hillary AND McCain supporters) were ALWAYS saying, some version of ‘Keep it up, You’ll keep providing us with more reasons not to vote for you.
It’s not like, ” Keep speaking (insert name here). You’ll keep providing us with more reasons not to vote for you.” is unique in electoral politics.

  4. Foundryman May 16th, 2016 at 13:13

Those brainwashed right wing twits who think Bill is all about a bj and nothing else are hilarious. The longest and largest peacetime economic expansion in history where more people seen their finances grow faster and the national debt reduced to 0 is what real Americans remember. In fact there was a surplus until bush/cheney came along and stole it.

    • Kick Frenzy May 16th, 2016 at 14:48

I really hate to say it, but Bill Clinton was nowhere near as good as I used to think he was.
I have long thought Bill did nothin but good stuff overall.
(At least, in hindsight I did… I was more Republican minded while he was actually in office and had a negative view of him at the time… noticing that he attacked Iraq on the eve of impeachment hearings, for example.)

My point being, once I turned the corner to Dem, I viewed him more favorably and forgivingly… focusing on all the positive things that happened during his presidency.

But then I found out that Wall St. deregulation started with him.
Meaning he’s just as responsible as Bush is for the Great Recession.
To be clear, it gives me no joy to know that or for it to be a fact, but that’s the thing about facts… they don’t care how you feel.
(And that wasn’t the only bad decision he made, but it’s easily one of the more significant ones… obviously.)

  5. 17 May 16th, 2016 at 15:00

Shouldn’t she divorce him before offering a cabinet position? Are all first ladies/men supposed to be given these powers? If you weren’t thinking DYNASTY before, you surely would be now.

  6. Paul Kent May 16th, 2016 at 19:07

The low information voter will be thrilled with Hillary’s economic plan of putting Bill Clinton in charge of the economy. It is a myth that Bill is the father of the economic boom in the 1990’s. It was the Republican congress that enacted policies and legislation that caused the boom, not Big Daddy Bill. The dawn of the internet and cellular communications industries were big drivers also.

The pundits that consider Hillary and Bill to be traditional Democrats in the Jack Kennedy mold are perhaps misinformed. Bill, in 1998, advocated the adoption of the “Third Way” economic model developed by the communist Mikhail Gorbachev. Hillary’s mentor was the radical Saul Alinsky, not Milton Friedman.

Hillary, like just about every single Democrat alive today, believes that Big Government should be the engine of the economy not entrepreneurship and free markets.

    • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 19:10

The low information voter votes Republican.
What what actually radical about Saul Alinsky?
I have never met a conservative who knows anything about him, and Hillary had a short correspondence with him.
      That is not a “mentor”.
      And Friedman did enough damage.
He’s the LAST influence we need.
(Unless you want Universal basic income).

    • OldLefty May 16th, 2016 at 19:27

And yet entrepreneurship always does better under Democrats.
      Funny huh?

Maybe because every single Republican alive today values money made from money over money made from hard work and innovation and believes that Big Government belongs in the bedroom, the bathroom and in the womb.

    • whatthe46 May 17th, 2016 at 00:55

tRump’s economic plan, bankrupt the U.S., because it worked so well for him, being all experienced with the 4 on his back. and another one about to happen, and the fraud charges he’s facing criminally, and the lawsuit that he has to testify in open court this year. the love he has for muslim’s as long as they are rich, is obviously not hypocritical enough for you. i love this line, it is so appropriate when it comes to the tRump supporters, “I love the poorly educated.”

America’s second Clinton Presidency breaks the Glass ceiling for all women, portending a similar great age of rising tides lifting all boats!

Clinton42’s 40 M+ U.S jobs record, 22.5 M net private jobs created via (D) Clinton’s only modern consecutively balanced budgets, amid the Dems consecutive $550 B realized surpluses, of Clinton’s $5.6 T CBO forecast surpluses! Until Bush Jr / Cheney’s: ‘We’ll do the opposite of Clinton’s Admin’- Boom! GWB’s Great Recession Record low everything since (R) Hoover’s Great depression.

    Bill on economy?
    Really?

Bill Clinton recently has been criticizing President Obama’s economy.

    http://www.theamericanmirror.com/bill-clinton-obama-economy-gave-rise-to-trump-sanders/comment-page-3/

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/04/bill-clinton-criticizes-obama-economy-video/

    But what about his?
Well, apparently his was a continuation of Reagan’s but worse according to this:

The same old right wing Clinton bashing sites?
      Really??

      • jybarz May 17th, 2016 at 09:50

If they are true, does it really matter where these facts come from?
Truth is truth regardless of sources.
Do you really think these are untrue?

        • OldLefty May 17th, 2016 at 10:18

          Yes.
          I do.
I think they are untrue and half truths. It is meant to be misleading.
          Clinton is criticizing what EVERYBODY, including Obama is criticizing;
          Like, for example;

2011 Fox News poll: Majority favors Obama’s jobs plan and faults GOP for blocking it

~ Nov. 7, 2011 Post/ABC survey: “50% think GOP intentionally stalling economy, including 51% of Indies, & 15% of GOPers.

Republicans LOVE to bring up “Right direction/Wrong direction polls, but if they asked ME, I would also say “wrong direction”, meaning the Republicans in Congress who have always obstructed the right direction.
