Tom Friedman: Trump doing ‘the Lord’s work’
And that’s because by blowing up the party, a better one may be created.
Click here for reuse options!…this version of the Republican Party had to be destroyed, so a thinking center-right party can emerge. If that is what Trump has done, he’s done the Lord’s work. We also need Democrats to be a center-left party, though, and not let Bernie Sanders pull them to the far left. If both happen, maybe something good can actually emerge from this crazy election.

The notion that Sen. Sanders is far left is part of our problem and is indicative of just how right wing our country is.
In England, Sanders would be considered a solid center-left politician. Sen. Sanders is what the center-left needs to be in this country.
Mr. Friedman should do a column making a side by side comparison of Sen. Sanders’ policy positions on domestic issues with those of former UK PM Tony Blair, and current German chancellor Andrea Merkel who recently presided over the implementation of free college for everyone. After the comparison is complete, then we would have a much better demonstration that either all of our European allies are “far left”, or anyone who calls Sanders far left is full of crap.

Our 535 members of Congress matter more than European on getting American policy through in America.

That way of thinking presumes that “the Lord” cares about our politics in the first place. Which I’m sure he/she/it doesn’t.

“It’s clear: Low-skilled illegal immigration has hurt more American workers than we’ve fully understood”.
It’s clear to me that what has hurt the American worker is not throwing the employers, hiring and then paying them crap, in prison…wrap your head around that one Mr. Friedman.

It ain’t immigrants that are the source of the greatest harm to workers. It’s employers sending the jobs overseas. And pocketing the savings.

Has Friedman gotten way stupider, or was he always this stupid and I’m just blind?
