Obamacare very effective: studies

The facts speak for themselves.

A mountain of evidence confirms the law’s effectiveness — particularly in its primary goal of expanding health care coverage to some of America’s neediest populations. Several recent studies have confirmed that Obamacare is positively affecting Americans, particularly those who previously couldn’t obtain health insurance or who struggled to pay their medical bills.

    Obamacare save my life.

I paid a lifetime of premiums and was hardly ever sick.

But, just after Obamacare ended lifetime caps, I got a very expensive illness.

So, hell yeah, I support Obamacare. And I view the right wing as wanting to kill me.

One of my conservative friends hated Obama and the ACA……..then got cancer using her work plan. It prevented doctors from telling her of alternative care and medicines, only what they would pay for. She had to go without a lot of her meds and treatments that may have helped save her or buy her more quality time. I once saw one of her bills on the table, it was for over $300,000 and I told her I couldn’t believe it could be so high when she had insurance. She held up a folder in two hands…..it was several inches thick. She said that was only one bill, here was the rest.

When the ACA went into use, her premiums did go up, from $34 a pay day to 100 more. However, she was on the verge of being kicked off her old policy because she had used up the benefits. She just passed away about 5 weeks ago. She would have gone that many months with no insurance at all had it not been for the ACA.

Her husband is in his late 50’s. The stress he has been living with is taking a toll on him. It is doubtful to me if he will be able to physically do his job for a lot longer. He is going to have to file for bankruptcy because there is no way he can ever pay that debt off. And the phone calls and pressure to pay is just too much. This man has worked since he was 14, always paid his bills and supported his kids.

My friend died, never really liking Obama, but after the ACA, she shut up about not liking him, and she pointed out how much better she was WITH the ACA than without it.

My republican friends in WY are early 60’s and this is the first time in their lives they have had insurance. Co-pays are still far too high but that is the state’s doing and the fact that the state isn’t populated with a great number of people. That needs fixing.

Glad your experience has been positive. Had republicans not prevented Hillary and Bill from fixing health care long ago, maybe my friend could have had the care she needed early on when it would have helped.

What a sad story. But her’s is a very common story from “Conservacare” times.

Under the Republican system, you could pay decades of premiums and still die untreated and broke.

Obamacare fixed a bunch of that.

I still think right wingers and assorted baggers should be given the option.
