Gaffney outraged that Muslim-Americans are meeting with members of Congress

Posted by | April 11, 2016 20:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Frank Gaffney is upset about “advocacy day” on Capitol Hill.

What they’re trying to do is essentially engage in influence operations. This isn’t to say like any other American citizen they don’t have the right to petition their elected representatives. What is worrying, though, is that as part of the larger Muslim Brotherhood operation inside the United States, this relatively new group, of which the Council on American-Islamic Relations is a part, called the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, USCMO, is trying to take political influence to a new level, and that is to actually build political muscle to compel legislators or other would-be elected officials to conform to their demands.

And their demands, unfortunately, are to obtain all kinds of accommodations, perhaps most worryingly, of the kind that would enable them to insinuate this really totalitarian program they call Sharia inside our country. I think that’s the agenda here and it’s very troubling indeed.

These fools live in a world where they believe there are two types of people, those who con and those who are conned. And due to their racist beliefs they just assume anyone with brown skin is the one doing the conning and us whities are being conned. Weak little humans they are.

“…is trying to take political influence to a new level, and that is to actually build political muscle to compel legislators or other would-be elected officials to conform to their demands.”

Sorry,a$$hole, we’re already at that level.

    The NRA springs to mind.

  5. Larry Schmitt April 11th, 2016 at 20:44

Right, if anyone is going to put Sharia law in place in this country, it will be the “Christians.”

  6. KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker April 11th, 2016 at 20:45

The current major superstitions have much in common.

    • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 20:52

It’s lazy thinking — in the extreme — to reduce billions and billions of people down to a list like this.

For example, my church was marrying gay couples many years before it was legal in any state. We led society on the issue of gay rights.

And, I don’t eat bacon. And I know Muslims who do.

  7. StoneyCurtisll April 11th, 2016 at 20:51

What we need is a bigger rock that Frank Gaffney can not crawl out from under..

    • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 20:54

I had to Google him. He seems to be a confirmed conspiracy nut.

According to New York Magazine, Ted Cruz plans to make him a national security adviser!

      • StoneyCurtisll April 11th, 2016 at 20:56

        He’s a confirmed conspiracy nut, and more~!
And all the more reason to fear a Cruz administration.

        • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 20:58

Is it as crazy at is sounds for Ted Cruz to want him as a national security adviser?

          • StoneyCurtisll April 11th, 2016 at 21:43

            They make great partners…
Both of them off the hook crazy..

      LOL.

  8. Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 20:57

    >>What is worrying, though, is that as part of the larger Muslim Brotherhood operation inside the United States…

    “Muslim Brotherhood”!?! Seriously?

I’m pretty sure the Muslim Brotherhood isn’t what he thinks it is.

    • anothertoothpick April 11th, 2016 at 21:12

The Brotherhood’s goal is to turn the world into an Islamist empire. The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in Egypt in 1928, is a revolutionary fundamentalist movement to restore the caliphate and strict shariah (Islamist) law in Muslim lands and, ultimately, the world. Today, it has chapters in 80 countries.

      • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 21:44

But, do you honestly believe there are Muslim Brotherhood lobbyists in Washington D.C.?

        • anothertoothpick April 11th, 2016 at 21:53

          You can bet on it.

          • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 21:54

Do you have any evidence, whatsoever to believe that the Muslim Brotherhood has lobbyists in Washington?

            • anothertoothpick April 11th, 2016 at 22:00

So anytime American Muslims organize in order to better advocate for the causes they care about, they are a Muslim Brotherhood front group?

Ironic that I am reading this post and replying while watching a documentary on AHC about the rise of the Nazi party and how it capitalized on anti Semitism to cement its power.

The list you posted can be found here, at this site dedicated to religious bigotry against Muslims. Page 18 to be specific.

The clarion project website throws around a lot of accusations. I believe them even less than I believe pronouncements about black people posted at stormfront

More importantly, despite how the document is portrayed at the website, I see nothing in it to indicate that it is anything more than one person’s opinion. The fact that there is no mention of this document or the alleged meeting in any quasi reputable news source, not even conservative sources like the Wall St Journal, Manchester Union Leader, and Orange County Register tells me all I need to know about this document.

I am aware of what Gafney is doing and I think it is despicable.

Some Muslim groups do very good things for the Muslim community. Building mosques’ sponsoring college classes. On and on.

But to think that the “Brotherhood” has not found a way to lobby congressman is inconceivable to me.

Remember how dubya ignored the PDB.

Anybody that has tons of money and has made contributions will get in to see a congressman or senator.

After all, this is still a free country, kinda.

  9. Warman1138 April 11th, 2016 at 21:14

Frank Gaffney is outraged because certain people need his approval to meet with their elected representatives. F#$% Gaffney and the horse he rode in on.

  10. William April 11th, 2016 at 21:52

“of the kind that would enable them to insinuate this really totalitarian program they call Sharia inside our country. I think that’s the agenda here and it’s very troubling indeed”
Why don’t you simply admit that conservatives just hate the competition..

    • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 22:00

      Especially conservative fundamentalists.

Like “anothertoothpick” below. He (rightly) accuses the Muslim Brotherhood of wanting to take over the world.

But, so does Franklin Graham and most evangelical Christians.

      • anothertoothpick April 11th, 2016 at 22:11

But the brotherhood has deeper pockets.

As in Saudi “charities” Wahabi deep pockets.

        • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 22:16

The Muslim Brotherhood hates the Sauds! They have been sworn enemies for decades.

And they differ significantly with Wahhabiism..

Is the Muslim Brotherhood like a Muslim version of the Illuminati or Rothchilds for you?

They are real. And they are radical. But they aren’t whatever you imagine them to be.

          • anothertoothpick April 11th, 2016 at 22:17

            Got it.

          • Hirightnow April 11th, 2016 at 22:50

I’m confoosed…I thought that all Moozlums were the same…like Catholics and Protestants…

  11. Mike April 11th, 2016 at 22:44

Gaffney is just jealous that Muslims want to do what Christians have been doing for decades….buy themselves a seat at the political poker table

  12. Tommie April 11th, 2016 at 22:56

But it’s ok, when BIBI came to congress and tell us what to do!

    • LookingGlass April 13th, 2016 at 10:49

      BIBI is our “friend” though!!!

  13. Dammitjim April 11th, 2016 at 22:58

Sharia Law=Christian Law in my view. I’m sure Wall Street firms are invited though.
And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply.

    • Mensa Member April 11th, 2016 at 23:06

It isn’t just your personal view — it’s definitionally correct.

Sharia law is simply religious law; divinely inspired as opposed to legislated.

The Ten Commandments are a type of “Sharia” law. Papal decrees are also a type of religious law.

(It does’t necessarily mean that religious law is wrong, BTW. “Thou shall not kill” or “Thou shall not steal” are good law, even though divinely revealed rather than legislated.)

      • Dammitjim April 11th, 2016 at 23:34

Heck, I agree with the 10 commandments…let’s just not put them on the courthouse lawn. Good response. Thank you.

      • Dammitjim April 11th, 2016 at 23:39

You said so much here, in so few words, and you are so right.

    • bpollen April 12th, 2016 at 03:39

So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why

  14. amersham46 April 11th, 2016 at 23:22

He is also outrage at Catholic, Jews, Blacks , Latinos, and undocumented Eskimos meeting with members of Congress

  15. bpollen April 12th, 2016 at 03:41

I’m outraged that Gaffney keeps getting airplay.

  16. The Original Just Me April 12th, 2016 at 04:43

His words could also be used to describe the Evangelical Christians without changing a thing.

  17. Budda April 12th, 2016 at 08:46

Old Frankie Boy is delusional and paranoid.

  18. LookingGlass April 13th, 2016 at 10:48

So if I understand this, CAIR can NOT meet with congressional delegations but AIPAC can????!!!!
    GOT IT – NEXT……….
