The parties were even at 40%, but now 46% identify as Democrats, according to Gallup.

The six-percentage-point Democratic advantage in party loyalties in Gallup Daily tracking throughout March is one of the larger leads for the party during Barack Obama’s second presidential term. Democrats have held a seven-point lead over Republicans on three occasions during this time, including January 2013, the month of Obama’s second inauguration; October 2013, during the partial federal government shutdown; and April 2015, as the 2016 presidential field was beginning to take shape and Hillary Clinton was the best-known, and best-liked, candidate.

It’s too bad this does not automatically transfer to vote totals. With all of the voter suppression efforts still standing in the way, it’s hard to celebrate too much.

This is good news and one hopes to see it continue.
We need to get out the vote on Election Day.
We got thumped the last two mid-term elections due largely to low voter turnout….

There is no loyalty to it… I HAD to switch parties to vote for Bernie in our closed primaries…I am sure it will go back down as soon as the election is over.
