David Hirsch, a.k.a. Dave "Doctor" Gonzo*, is a renegade record producer, video producer, writer, reformed corporate shill, and still-registered lobbyist for non-one-percenter performing artists and musicians. He lives in a heavily fortified compound in one of Manhattan's less trendy neighborhoods.

* Hirsch is the third person to use the pseudonym, a not-so-veiled tribute to journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson, with the permission of his predecessors Gene Gaudette of American Politics Journal (currently webmaster and chief bottlewasher at Liberaland) and Stephen Meese at Smashmouth Politics.

As a Portlandler, this is unsettling but, obviously, these could have been used anywhere.

The right wing is going to assume that Muslim radicals are behind this. But they are only one militant movement in America. We Oregonians are well aware that homegrown Christian militants also exist.

Are these missiles we sold to Saddam? Kurdish rebels, Libyan rebels, Syrian rebels or some other more nebulous “rebel” group? Stolen from the Saudis, Israelis, Turks, Egyptians, Qatari, Emirates? Maybe just left behind in a depot somewhere? We’ve flooded the middle east with our weaponry. Is it any wonder some of it may get pointed back at us? Mensa makes a good point. Who was supposed to take delivery in Portland?

This link in the thread gives an update, saying tht the missiles had been used for training purposes only and were being returned to manufacturer, and had no explosives……duh, they were discovered by explosive sniffing dogs.

  8. mistlesuede March 14th, 2016 at 17:35

Considering what the update states, what did the sniffer dog sniff then?

    • Hirightnow March 15th, 2016 at 13:38

Fuel; those missiles aren’t fired by springs.

      • mistlesuede March 15th, 2016 at 14:10

Thanks. I thought they were trained to smell explosives. I guess the fuel would go along with that.
