Bruni: ‘Breathtaking vulgarity’

Frank Bruni in the New York Times:

I’m not being cheeky. I’m not being shocking. I’m noting something that we cannot lose track of, should not shrug our shoulders about and must not gloss over: Trump has succeeded at nothing as fully as he has at infusing the presidential race with a vulgarity that’s absolutely breathtaking.

He has done so well at dragging his rivals so far down into the sewer with him that portions of what we watched on Thursday night were a fetid farce. We actually witnessed an interchange — in the first 10 minutes, no less — about how well endowed (or not) he is.

It’s worth stopping for a second, letting that sink in and wondering what it says about our country and political process right now.

perfect. I’m sure the rest of the world watching that crap last night are hoping and praying that not a single one of them occupies the WH. probably more than any of us. otherwise, we know with the immaturity these assholes are projecting, there will surely be war some damn where. probably wherever the damn dart lands on the map.

Can you just imagine what will happen to our country if he is actually elected? The first time he tells N. Korea or China’s leaders to go f–off. They will bomb the heck out of us. This person is dangerous and a pathetic excuse for a man!

Not a reflection of the country, it’s reflection of GOP contenders. Finally they’re truthful…keep it coming.

Let’s see what all those “religious” leaders had to say about last night’s debate. You know the ones hanging around praying (or is that preying) with the GOPTP candidates.

Short Fingered Vulgarian living up to his namesake. He cannot help himself, it is his nature, and nothing will change that, not meds nor intensive psychotherapy. He just needs to be kept away from decent folk.

Rachel Maddow closed her show and Lawrence O’Donnell opened his with the same head shaking disgust.
I just don’t think there are enough of us who agree with them anymore.
