Yoko Ono hospitalized
WCBS radio in New York City reported shortly before 11pmEDT that recording artist Yoko Ono, former wife of songwriter John Lennon, has been hospitalized in New York with what may have been symptoms of a stroke. In an update reported by WNBC, it appears Ono, 83, has severe flu symptoms.
Ono had called 911 at around 9pmEDT, and was reportedly unconscious when she arrived at Mount Sinai Roosevelt hospital.
While Ono is best known for her marriage to and collaborations with Lennon, it is not as well known that she and her first husband, composer Toshi Ichiyanagi, are prominent figures in Japan’s postwar avantgarde arts scene, and prior to her marriage to Lennon she had achieved a reputation as a prominent multimedia artist in Tokyo and New York City through early collaborations with eminent artists and composers including John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, LaMonte Young, and Nam June Paik.

I haven’t commented because I read she didn’t have a stroke but the flu….I mean I hope she feels better…but it’s the flu…
