“pressures to impose a secular, anti-religious culture”?
Did I miss the part of the story where the AF forced christians to attend pagan worship? I didn’t see any talk of confiscating torahs, bibles, korans from the cadets. Are jews forced to take communion?
These crazies have no concept of freedom of (or from) religion.
“The Air Force Academy leadership is attacking traditional Christian beliefs but will fund witchcraft and ‘faery magick’?”
It always cracks me up when people with a supernatural belief system criticize other supernatural beliefs as being kooky. Traditional Christian beliefs certainly seem just as kooky to those without a supernatural belief system or with a substantially different supernatural belief system (heck, early Christians were criticized as being cannibals for the whole eating the flesh/drinking the blood of Jesus thingy).
A little more self awareness among we humans would be a wonderful thing. Have whatever supernatural belief system you want, talk to others who express interest about yours, but blanked denigration of those with/without supernatural belief systems because it seems strange to you? Drop 200 mics of LSD & stare in a mirror for a couple hours and get back to us in the morning.
The Air Force Academy has been known for years as a sink of right wing Christian activism. Cadets are coerced into Bible study, etc. Now the RW is upset over a couple hundred spent on accommodation for what has to be a few pagan cadets? Get real.
For years the Air Force Academy was the playground for fundamentalist christians that crawl all over Colorado Springs….they just about ran the place…and you had to play along to graduate
“Unfortunately, pressures to impose a secular, anti-religious culture on
our nation’s military services have intensified tremendously during the
Obama Administration. This pressure exists across the armed services,
but it has become extremely acute in the United States Air Force
(USAF),” the ultra-conservative Family Research Council is quoted as
stating.
Then it ends up saying this…
the academy said
in a statement. “The United States Air Force Academy will continue to
reaffirm to cadets that all Airmen are free to practice the religion of
their choice or subscribe to no religious belief at all. The players may
confidently practice their own beliefs without pressure to participate
in the practices of others.”

so witch is it ? obama’s fault or is it their true belief
it’s so stupid I grew up around the military where asians went to christian churches and european americans went to buddhist temple….grow up right wingers…

It’s only being more ‘secular’ as the U.S. government is supposed to be.

Or just follow Will Weaton’s excellent advice.

I’m a fan of your comments, but taking LSD and staring in a mirror is a recipe for psychotic break… :)
