McConnell doesn’t want Obama appointing next Supremo

What a shock: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is being a jerk over the dead body of Justice Antonin Scalia. It must not matter to him that it is President Obama’s duty to name a replacement in a timely manner.

Excuse me Turtle Man, but the country HAS spoken, and has TWICE elected our current leader, who should have the right to exercise the duties of his office each and every day throughout the duration of his term. So much for their holier-than-thou interpretation of adhering to the Constitution!

    Should a Democrat be elected to the presidency while the GOP retains control of the Senate, what’s to prevent them from stalling approval of a replacement Justice for another 4 years beyond the current year?

    “The American people‎ should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President.”

    Excuse me but the American people voted for President Obama not once but twice. The American people clearly understood that President Obama would choose the next Supreme Court Justice if one was needed. Just because the GOP does not like it does not mean they have the Constitutional right to stop President Obama.

    I am proud of my Senator Blumenthal, in local news, this is what he had to say….

    HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) –

    U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal issued this statement following the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia:

    “I am saddened by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. The son of an immigrant, dedicated public servant, acerbic wit, and gifted writer and orator, Justice Scalia lived a uniquely-American life. I respected his intellect and patriotism. My thoughts are with his wife Maureen and their entire family.”

    “My hope is that the President will promptly nominate someone with strong intellect and integrity who can win bipartisan support. I will work vigorously as a member of the Judiciary Committee to achieve confirmation,” he said in a press statement.

    This , coming from the guy that swore to keep the current president to one term. that didn’t work out very well for Mr. Obstruction-nell did it. They aren’t even going to wait till Monday to start hurling giant loads of hogwash, wait for tomorrow.

      I am wondering about the debate tonight, its not like we have the most gracious people in this quest for the republican nominee. I bet some dog poop will be slung, hell I might even watch this one……naaaa who am I kidding. I need to keep the few brain cells I have left. I watch the debate and at least one of my brain cells will commit Hara-kiri.

        I can’t handle watching them either. If I’m going to kill my brain cells, it will be with alcohol; less painful and it doesn’t leave as bad a taste in my mouth.

      He said it was his main priority, holding the President to one term (fail), repealing the ACA (fail) and not passing a budget (fail). Now he doesn’t want to confirm a justice for the next year, at least. And maybe he’ll try to stretch it out for 8 more years, after we elect a Democrat as President. Pull your head in your shell and sit on a log, Turtle Boy – it won’t be getting better for you.

    The American people does have a voice, the majority elected Obama TWICE to do the duty of the President!

    President Obama is bound by the constitution to nominate another Supreme court justice, the teabagger mccoinnel who showed his ass when he procliamed to destroy and obstruct the President needs to shot and quarted if he obstructs this right.
