Rubio Ad: ‘Our Goal Is Salvation…By…Jesus Christ’

Marco Rubio is pandering to evangelicals in Iowa as though he’s running a church.

“Our goal is eternity, the ability to live alongside our Creator and for all time, to accept the free gift of salvation offered to us by Jesus Christ. The struggle on a daily basis as a Christian is to remind ourselves of this. The purpose of our life is to cooperate with God’s plan. To those who much has been given, much is expected, and we will be asked to account for that. Were your treasures stored up on earth or in Heaven? And to me, I try to allow that to influence me in everything that I do.”

Someone needs to start asking these GOP jagoffs if they’re running for president or bishop.

Thank you Marco — you speak the truth. But I’m afraid it is much more a reason to enter the Seminary than to run for President!!! We are NOT a theocracy. The DofIndependence and the Constitution “may” mention the term “God” or “Divine Providence,” but these are very “generic” terms relating to the Divine. SHOW me where the name of “Christ” appears in these public documents. They were designed — specifically — so that a broad spectrum of those who actually believe in “A God” not “THE God” could claim allegiance to the State. “To whom much is given — much is expected???” Tell that to your billionaire friends and the Wall Street moguls who would flat out “challenge” you that God has anything to do with their wealth — and 2ndly who just don’t seem to understand the word “enough” when it comes to their greed!! You may smokescreen the Iowa Evangelicals — but I’m afraid the general electorate is much smarter than you give them credit for!!

Well I’m not voting for you Rubio because you don’t talk directly to God or Jesus. Other people do and for some reason you don’t. If Kim Davis is your VP choice then I might consider voting for you. All though I was a bit disappointed that neither Jesus or God unlocked the jail cell door for her. Are you going to appoint Jim Bakker as the head of the Federal Reserve?

But I’m not a Christian, and your view has no place in government. What you do personally is your own business. I don’t need to hear you shout it from the rooftops, nor do I give a crap.
