I barely ever carry cash, I rather pay with my debit card. I don’t have to worry about carrying cash around and it comes out of my account automatically. I even pay my bills online, it is easy and I have done it for years.

no fees on your debit card? they process everything for free?

There shouldn’t be fees for paying bills online. You may have fees for using a debit card for POS purchases, but you can use a credit card for those, or select credit instead of debit.

Paying on line is not using a debit card…Someone pays…somewhere…banks do nothing for free..well except mine which gives me free checking because I’m an old fart and use direct deposit ….someone is doing the bookkeeping and generating the statements… grass, gas ,or ass no one rides for free

You can use a debit card online, I do it all the time, with no fee.

For a long time I was worried about my debit card number being compromised and did very few online transactions. Then I realized that anyone who managed to hack into my checking account was going to be very disappointed, and could have easily made more money delivering pizza.

The cost savings to banks by not having to mail out bills, postage, printing and processing receipts is a biggie. The retailer pays a fee to the bank when you use debit/credit. . The company I buy my fuel oil from will not accept a debit card because they lose a percentage to the bank. They only take checks or cash.

My cell phone carrier deducts 10 percent if I pay on line with auto pay.

Most bills you can pay directly at their website. That’s what I do with Verizon and Comcast.

I don’t pay fees on my debit card. In fact I get points. I usually can grab a couple 50 dollar gift cards at the end of the year to use as gifts.

Budda December 27th, 2015 at 08:48

Win win for the ruling class. Makes it easy for the government to keep track of your spending and income.
And with the IRS now being able to seize your passport for unpaid taxes how long until a border wall is built to keep citizens in?
