Sarah Silverman Angers Christian Conservatives With Christmas Tweet
Sarah Silverman used Christmas to tweet that Jesus was “gender fluid.”
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Jesus was gender fluid! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
— Sarah Silverman (@SarahKSilverman) December 25, 2015
…in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last year, Silverman stressed she is not anti-Christian — only against the right wing’s use of religion to push their agenda on everyone else.
“I love the symbol of Jesus,” she told the magazine at the time. “It’s so odd to me that so many people on the far right use his name to justify terrible things that I can’t imagine he’d approve of.”

Common now — everyone knows that Jesus was a gun-toting, pasty white guy who hated gays and Muslims.
wpadon December 26th, 2015 at 19:33
don’t forget he hated Arabs, Asians, Africans and especially Mexicans.

Stan Ubeki December 27th, 2015 at 10:11
God wants us to evolve to the point where we no longer believe in him.
BillPasadena December 27th, 2015 at 12:09
Was Allah also gender fluid?
Good thing Sarah knows which religions are acceptable to mock and insult.
There must be a good reason for these religious double standards.
tracey marie December 27th, 2015 at 12:25
What in the hell does Allah have to do with anything, are you attempting to play teabagger?
BillPasadena December 27th, 2015 at 12:41
Just to prove the double standard in attacking religions.
I wonder why Sarah asking if jesus was gender fluid didn’t elicit the same “what does jesus have to do with anything” response from you.
Teabagger… good one. Sorry, I’m not insulted by your gay innuendo tracymarie.
tracey marie December 27th, 2015 at 12:45
bullshit, they you would have gone towards sivermans religion, Jewish.
BillPasadena December 27th, 2015 at 13:04
I would have? Are you Miss Cleo?
Funny you said I would go after silverman’s religion as sarah is mocking jesus.
Richard Banville December 30th, 2015 at 15:51
Saying that Jesus is “gender fluid” is not “mocking”. It’s a compliment.
Only people with serious complexes about their sexual identity would consider that an insult.
tracey marie December 27th, 2015 at 12:45
teabagger who pretends to be liberal
BillPasadena December 27th, 2015 at 13:09
Sorry.
Still not offended by your gay innuendo tracymarie.
Since gay people are so offensive to you, I’m no longer going to respond to your bigotry.
tracey marie December 27th, 2015 at 15:35
go away teabag
bpollen December 28th, 2015 at 05:59
The gay innuendo was there because of the name the Tea Party chose, and they were the first ones to use the term “teabagger.” Calling a tea-partier by the name THEY chose in reference to themselves is not innuendo. I mean, they coulda called themselves something without an obvious joke inherent in their choice. If you call yourself Nancy, and I call you Nancy, am I responsible for you thinking it is gay innuendo when *I* say it? But hey, don’t let facts get in the way. Make up insults and put them in other people’s mouths.
Here’s Fox News, in 2009, using the term:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/2009/05/20/score-one-for-tea-baggers.html
Even the NRO says the term was first used by conservatives:

BillPasadena December 28th, 2015 at 13:54
You believe the phrase teabagger started with the tea party?
bpollen December 28th, 2015 at 15:06
As I showed, both National Review and Fox News think so. Fox News SPECIFICALLY called them “tea baggers” in the link I provided. In the gawddam headline, even.
So you can discount ME saying it, but can you discount NRO and Fox agreeing? You REALLY think that Fox would refer to their own creation with “gay innuendo?” The station who defends every offensive thing Trump says? The Obama Derangement Syndrome Network?
BillPasadena December 30th, 2015 at 14:51
The phrase started before the tea party.
I’m not sure why you are arguing this.
Feel free to ask one of your gay friends about the phrase.
bpollen December 30th, 2015 at 15:32
The Tea Party themselves used the term “tea bagging.” Fox used the word “tea baggers” to refer to those in the Tea Party.
I’m arguing because you are saying it’s gay innuendo, If it IS, you can blame the Tea Party themselves. They are the ones who called on their brethren to “tea bag Washington.”
I don’t know why YOU are arguing this. You’re whole case is based on OTHER people choosing that label for them. Since they, with no prodding from their ideological opponents, chose the term “tea bagging” and “tea baggers.” Or, in other words, your argument is that OTHER people MADE the tea partiers choose a “gay innuendo” to refer to themselves. That it’s not the Tea Party’s fault that they are ignorant.
When even FOX news disagrees with your tea party apology tour, you are fairly obviously talking out of your nether regions. Which, notably, is a common trait amongst your fellow tea partiers.

Why do you think that she spares any religion?
And why do you think that ANY religion is above humor or even derision? Your sacred cow may be another person’s leather coat on the hoof. Is Gawd so fragile and petty that he can’t take a joke? I think Gawd has a great sense of humor. Look at all the Republicans he told to run for President!
Should comedians all strive to be Pat Boone? No Lenny Bruce, no Richard Pryor, no George Carlin?
BillPasadena December 28th, 2015 at 13:51
I’m all for mocking of all religions. I just don;t understand why funny people avoid jokes and cartoons about Islam. Why do you believe there is a double standard?
bpollen December 28th, 2015 at 15:00
Ahhh… I get it.
One must insult ALL religions. A joke at the expense of one must be immediately be followed by insulting ALL 19 major religions. Of course, that would mean that the average standup routine would consist entirely of being PC and making sure you tweak all… with equally funny or offensive commentary. Those Baha’i and Shinto and Zoroastrian and Animist jokes should just KILL in Middle America
Is it that you have a complex about Islam? Or are you thinking that humor MUST be PC? The comedy greats certainly didn’t think that way. Carlin said “I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don’t have as many people who believe it.” It appears that you are saying that THAT joke should have been followed by 18 more tweaking the other 18 major religious groups. Apparently, Carlin, the comedian, felt otherwise.
BillPasadena December 30th, 2015 at 15:03
The world already knows what happens when you draw cartoons of muhammad.
I would be interested in seeing some of the comedians making jokes of islam, do you have any links?
bpollen December 30th, 2015 at 15:40
Go on your fact-finding Islamophobia mission via Google.
I’m not your friggin’ lackey. Research your OWN damn bigotry.
BillPasadena December 30th, 2015 at 15:07
Do you have links to her making jokes about islam?
If not, why do you believe she spares one religion.
bpollen December 30th, 2015 at 15:42
Do you know Google? You should make its acquaintance.
But that would be HAAAARD, wouldn’t it?
