Now if they can just do something about the thousands of guns that find their way from Virginia to NY, NJ, MA and other northeastern states.

Funny thing going on here. This Guy is a Democrat and his move is a strong left move. BUT, the five remaining accepted states are Strong Red Pro Gun States. Weird.

I’m guessing it has to do with the training required to get a CCP in some of the 25 other 25 states. Here in Fl I got mine after a 1 hour class at the gun show, a single shot fired at the range (hitting the target is not required) and filing a fingerprint card and photo along with $119 to the State.
Maybe VA wants only those who actually had a bit of training to carry weapons…???

Do Ya suppose the $119 to the State is the Prime item in getting the permit ? Here in Idaho there are two kinds of permits. The Regular CC Permit which basically is a background check. And then there is the Enhanced Permit. That is the one I have. It involves an 8hr. class and firing of a least 100 rounds. The only real requirement of the rounds is to get them into the right end of the firing range. I got the enhanced permit because I have carried a pocket knife in my pocket since I was 8 years old. 10 years of school and then college with no problem. But if a cop in a near by city pulls you over, you are on your way to jail for a pocket knife if you do not have a permit. I also own several firearms but NO Weapons. weapons are only used to kill people. They adopted an OLD Mining Town ordinance and it goes a little far. In Nevada, our Enhanced permit is recognized but the regular one is not.
