Some 70,000 Muslim leaders in India have jointly issued a religious ruling, or fatwa, condemning extremist violence carried out by groups like the Islamic State group, the Taliban and al Qaeda. The document was signed by some 1.5 million followers during a major annual religious ceremony, the Times of India reported Wednesday. “It is written in…

Finally, the TRUE Muslims are speaking out. This is a good start but the over one Billion that is left can now join in. It is also a Good point made about Trump-a-Dump and his Army of Right-Wing Haters.

    • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 10th, 2015 at 12:26

Why should they have to join in? Your belief that they should is equivalent to conservatives whining about Obama not saying “radical Muslim terrorists.”
Oh, and prominent Muslims regularly speak out after such events.

      • The Original Just Me December 10th, 2015 at 12:50

If someone stole one of my pistols and used it to kill someone else, I would be totally Pissed and speak out about it. Now, there are people who are stealing Religions and killing other people in the name of Religion. Why shouldn’t the Real Religious Believing people be Pissed about that and NOT speak Out ?

        • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 10th, 2015 at 13:08

And many of them do. But if someone stole one of your pistols damned near every day, and you spoke out about each theft, how much time would you have to actually live your life?

          • trees December 10th, 2015 at 13:40

In other words, “there are so many Muslims killing in the name of Allah, and his prophet, that if the other Muslims who disagreed with the killings, were to voice objections, they’d have no time to say anything else….”

Yeah, I’m sure that’s it…. cause there’s an awful lot of awful stuff going on, in the name of Islam.

            • tracey marie December 10th, 2015 at 13:58

and in the name of xtianity^^^

              • Bunya December 10th, 2015 at 14:16

Yes but, when Christians do awful stuff, they’re considered “a few bad apples” and we shouldn’t condemn the whole religion for the actions of a few. However, when a Muslim does the exact same thing, the whole religion is bad. See how that works?

                • tracey marie December 10th, 2015 at 14:46

                  Shameful and hateful isn’t it.

            • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2015 at 17:59

There’s an awful, awful lot going on everyday in the US in the name of Christianity. So much that American right-wingers are now considered to be courting fascism.

          • trees December 10th, 2015 at 14:44

A question, “how many killings have resulted from the “Zombie Nativity” in Ohio?

What do you suppose the reaction would be if the subject matter was “Zombie Muhammad”, or if we had “P*ss Muhammad” exhibits being publicly displayed as art?

  2. Roctuna December 10th, 2015 at 12:20

Won’t see that story on faux news unless of course Hannity and O’Reilly find a way to condemn it.

    • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 10th, 2015 at 12:29

Fox headline: “99.9% of Muslims Support Terrorist Acts”
That’s assuming they can figure out what percentage of the total these 1.5 million represent.

      • bpollen December 10th, 2015 at 19:53

The headline would probably be “Muslims Support Terrorist Acts.”

  3. Bunya December 10th, 2015 at 14:14

I don’t know. Why not try it and tell us how it works out for you? Might I suggest, for a better result, you do this in a predominantly Muslim country?

    • trees December 11th, 2015 at 12:37

Might I suggest, for a better result, you do this in a predominantly Muslim country?

I know, cause it’s a religion of peace and tolerance….. hmmmm?

      Oh wait, no, it’s not.

      Thanks for making my point.

      • Bunya December 11th, 2015 at 13:41

Which is why you’d have a better result displaying your hatred of Islam in a Muslim country. I guarantee you’ll get noticed.
        .
Islam is a religion of peace. You know, like Christianity is a “religion of peace”.

        .
        2 Chronicles 15:13
“That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.”

Have you ever stopped to consider that all of your “gotcha” posts lifted from the scriptures are all Old Testament passages?

          Christ is a transformative figure.

The study of Christianity is a study of Christ.

The great exchange occurs in a moment of time, and the account of this exchange is contained within the New Testament.

To stay fixated on the Old Testament is to never acknowledge the New Testament…..

You hate Christ, I get that.

I don’t hate you, and I’d never demand or desire, any form of punishment be directed at you for your position

          • Bunya December 11th, 2015 at 16:07

            1) Have you ever stopped to consider that the Old Testament IS part of the bible?
            .
            2) Christ (the transformative figure) supposedly said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17). Sounds pretty straightforward to me.
            .
            3) The study of Christ? How do you study something that you have no concrete knowledge about?
            .
            4) If the great transition occurred, why do you still have the Old Testament. And why do Christians refer to the Old Testament when they want to justify their bigotry (for example, their hatred of gays)?
            .
            5) You’re right. I don’t acknowledge (as fact) the new testament.
            .
            6) I don’t hate Christ. I don’t believe he exists, so it’s ludicrous to hate something (someone) that doesn’t exist, don’t you think?
            .
I didn’t suggest you hated me and, quite frankly, I don’t care. But your fear and/or dislike of Muslims troubles me. Now, I know more about the bible than you, because someone dared me to read it from cover to cover. So I did – and became an Atheist. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a nice story, but that’s all it is. That is why I know Jesus also supposedly said, ” This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
(John 15:12). I would assume that includes Muslims, no?

children were murdered while attending school, and they pissed no one off.

  5. whatthe46 December 10th, 2015 at 14:21

why were 3 people murdered at PP?

  6. Red Mann December 10th, 2015 at 17:40

    Tu quoque.

    • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2015 at 18:03

Why “tu quoque”? He’s always the same, a right-wing nuts…

      • Red Mann December 10th, 2015 at 18:12

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tu_quoque

        • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2015 at 18:19

That’s why I did not understand, he is always very much consistent in his right-wing positions, it’s not as if you could be surprised… I’m reporting myself to the original quote in Latin, in its context.

          • Red Mann December 10th, 2015 at 18:26

It’s because he is attempting to use “our” supposed behavior to justify the actions of the RW terrorists.

            • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2015 at 18:32

              Got it.

            • trees December 11th, 2015 at 12:09

Nope. Apparently, It completely went over your head.

“Your” lwnj behavior, as a group, is mocking, insulting, vulgar,.and disrespectful.

If your lwnj group were to target the prophet Muhammad and attempt that same level of behavior in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc..etc..

              Charlie Hebdo, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Hebdo_shooting

The comparative analysis, between Islamic retribution and violence directed at those who mock and denigrate Islam, and anything that could be deemed as “a Christian” equivalency showing similar behavior, reveals just how ridiculous and absurd your contention is…..

              • Red Mann December 11th, 2015 at 19:15

“mocking, insulting, vulgar,.and disrespectful.” Call the Whambulance for you hurt feefees. There are very few LWNJs and what there are don’t control the Democratic Party. On the other hand the Republican Party is in the thrall of insane and childish wingnuts.

All religions are amenable to promoting violence and hatred. At this time in history, fundamentalist Muslims are doing the most violence and the violence is mostly Muslim on Muslim. The Iraqi war distablized the entire region giving radicals an excuse to attack us.

Obviously you think that the long history of Christian atrocities don’t count anymore, have you ever read the hate mail and deaths threats from Christians toward people like Mikey Weinstein at MRFF? Do you know what the Dominionists and Reconstructionists want for America? Do you realize that Christians loudly supported slavery, Jim Crow, segregation and Anti-miscegenation laws claiming all of these were God’s Will. Do you know the lies, hatred and fear-mongering that preachers like Rick WIles, Kevin Swanson, James David Manning and many others are preaching?

            • trees December 11th, 2015 at 15:15

              Oh, you’re a Muslim??

  7. bpollen December 10th, 2015 at 18:08

Funny you should mention “Zombie Nativity.” Christians are outraged and protesting. And I can pretty much guarantee that almost none of them would protest “Zombie Muhammad.”

Your point seems to be that it is OK for Christians to plotz but not Muslims. Look up Kathleen Folden. Shows that Christians have no problem with art, right?

    • trees December 11th, 2015 at 12:18

It’s laughable that you’re trying to make an equivalency argument.

      • bpollen December 11th, 2015 at 16:33

That’s just it. I’m not making an equivalency argument. I’m pointing out the facetiousness of yours. Now THAT is worth a laugh. You are the one who brought UP the subject, and seriously think other people take that crap you spew as anything other than bigot-warbling!

It’s really rich – bring up a false equivalency yourself and think it’s hysterical that you get ridiculed for it. That makes you two – two – two tools in one! Wooden thinking from the Sapling.

  8. MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 11th, 2015 at 08:23

To answer your questions: zero, that I’m aware of, and some Muslims of the unhinged variety might go off the rails.
I’m not sure how all of that is relevant to thinking that all Muslims must openly condemn terrorism. That’s like asking me to condemn rape because I have sex.
