Christian Woman Brings Roses To Apologize To Planned Parenthood

Posted by | December 5, 2015 19:00 | Filed under: Good News Politics

Following the shooting last Friday at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic when a gunman killed three people, including a police officer, and wounded nine others, one Christian pro-lifer decided to go into a local clinic 1,300 miles away–to apologize. On Wednesday, Sarah Parker brought two dozen peach-colored roses to the Planned Parenthood clinic in Redding, California…

heathen! oh goodness the rwnj’s are gonna say, that’s not what a true Christian is about. it’s about war, control, death to those who think differently and all the other nasty stuff that they stand for. good for you Ms. Parker.

  2. Red Eye Robot December 5th, 2015 at 19:29

In order to perform a similar gesture, Islam will need to buy the entire world production of roses through 2023

355 mass-shootings in this country so far this year, and two (2) of them were committed by Muslims: http://www.globalresearch.ca/non-muslims-carried-out-more-than-90-of-all-terrorist-attacks-in-america/5333619

You just can’t let any opportunity go by without saying something nasty, aggressive or abusive can you? Never light a bit of light shine into the world, it might illuminate the true you.

    • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 6th, 2015 at 04:03

Your thought process, while very simple, is exceedingly pathetic. It goes something like this:
      Someone did something.
How can I use that to indict the entire Muslim population?

God bless this woman for actually expressing Christian values!

  4. Lyndia December 5th, 2015 at 19:55

This is a beautiful gesture. Why aren’t most Christians like, Mrs. Parker. Live and let live.

    • NW10,PATRIOT! ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ December 5th, 2015 at 20:04

Most are. Don’t let the faux Christians like Schmuckabee and them give you the wrong impression about Christianity.

      • Lyndia December 5th, 2015 at 21:18

LIFE, has shown me that most Christians are not like Mrs. Parker. I am not going to go into it but I had a difficult time growing up, DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY, BIG TIME. Most of the people that assisted me during the most DIFFICULT times of my life, were not Christians. They were gamblers, alcoholics, average working people, bootleggers, etc. Good people that I grew to LOVE.

        • Mensa Member December 5th, 2015 at 23:27

          >> They were gamblers, alcoholics, average working people, bootleggers, etc.

The Gospels calls these “sinners” and Jesus was known as a friend of sinners. Jesus focused his harshest criticism one the self-righteous religious leaders.

          • Lyndia December 6th, 2015 at 22:11

Could be, but the Jesus freaks, were the ones that talked about me like a dog, notwithstanding, they had did the same things I had done and WORST. Baby Bye.

    • Mensa Member December 5th, 2015 at 20:45

      >> Why aren’t most Christians like, Mrs. Parker. Live and let live.

Most _people_ aren’t like Mrs. Parker. This is an extraordinary gesture, regardless of religion.

But there are plenty of Christians who don’t use the radicalized “baby killers!” rhetoric against abortion providers or rape victims..

I’m an Evangelical Christian, myself, and I’m pro-choice. I have my own opinion about abortion but I’m not going to force that on women.

It looks like the moderator deleted “Doug Bristow’s” message where he accuses me of being a false Christian.

No need, IMHO. Most everybody sees through his hypocritical judgmentalism.

Doug knows me from the “Charisma” site where I was banned for quoting the bible. Seriously. For quoting Jesus on things like “love your enemy” and “welcome the stranger.”

        • Doug Bristow December 6th, 2015 at 00:54

Actually I am the one that deleted my own message.

The mods had nothing to do with it.

          You are welcome.

        • Doug Bristow December 6th, 2015 at 05:40

You are a false Christian. You are the wolf in sheep’s clothing that our Lord warned us about.

          • bpollen December 7th, 2015 at 06:44

Again, you make claims you can’t prove. Tell me, when did Christ empower you to determine who his “real” followers are? Didn’t your “Lord” say “Judge not lest ye be judged?” I think your Gawd should decide who is a “real” Christian.

            Romans 14:10-12

But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written, “AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD.” So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

Even your “Lord” says that HE is the judge. Yet you claim that job for yourself. Can you say Hubris?

Looking at all the furor about Muslims from the right since 9/11, especially their assuming all Muslims are terrorists and our enemies because segment of Islam is savagely vicious and some number of other Muslims are seen to support them to one degree or another, then I look at the savage and vicious segment of Christianity in America and the other Christians who support them in one way or another. Suddenly this woman pops up and highlights the fact that not all Muslims want to kill and destroy and not all Christians want to oppress and hate, and kill.
The extremist Christians constantly whine and cry about how they are being persecuted because their vicious and hateful ideas are being attacked, yet they attack all Muslims because of the actions of their Muslim ideological twins. ISIS wants a Caliphate and Christian extremists want a theocracy and both worship a cruel, capricious, vindictive, blood-thirsty god.
Amongst all this sits the Republican Party in the thrall of the childish, and insane, Tea Party and the Christian extremists, doing everything it can generate hate and divisiveness, led by a vile demagogue with an ego the size of Jupiter.
What has our country come to, to have so many of its citizens supporting such despicable behavior? I was born the year after the end of WWII and now it looks like we are on a path to turn into the country we fought so hard to defeat.

The people who posted comments like these in response to the Planned Parenthood shootings http://freakoutnation.com/2015/11/conservatives-on-social-media-call-the-planned-parenthood-shooter-a-hero/ could certainly learn something from Sarah Parker’s act of personal contrition.

Thank You, Ms. Parker. This country needs more folks with your sense of decency….

“In Islam, the fetus is believed to become a living soul after four months of gestation, and abortion after that point is generally viewed as impermissible.”

        • Red Mann December 6th, 2015 at 00:30

Is there a point to this bloviation?
No, I do not tolerate nor respect religions that attempt to impose their will on anyone.

          • Robert M. Snyder December 6th, 2015 at 00:34

Expressing an opinion is not imposing one’s will.

            • Red Mann December 6th, 2015 at 00:51

Using the government to enforce your beliefs is not expressing an opinion, attacking and killing people is not expressing an opinion. BTW when people express their opinions about Christian extremists it is called persecution. You really need to get out more.

              • Robert M. Snyder December 6th, 2015 at 01:05

If multiculturalism is going to succeed, then we have to learn how to respect people even when we strongly disagree with some of their views.

I am asking you and others to consider the possibility that someone who respectfully posts opinions that are different from yours might be a Sarah Parker. They deserve to be treated respect, unless they show disrespect. Voicing a different opinion is not in itself disrespectful. It is what Democracy is all about.

                • Red Mann December 6th, 2015 at 01:16

                  Your opening gambit:
“If the same woman posted a respectfully-worded message here in Liberaland beginning with the same words: “I’m a Christian, and a pro-life one”, would those who disagree do so respectfully?”
Was an direct insult to the commenters here, not to mention rather supercillious in tone. Respecting opinions is one thing, respecting bulls!t is quite another and the right, both political and religious, is rife with bullsh!t, wallowing in deceitful lies, rampant with hateful language. Followers of extremist religious views deserve neither tolerance or respect. Ms Parker is a shining light of reason amongst the more militant “pro-lifers” the vast majority of whom show no respect for any opinion than their own, calling anyone who supports choice murderers. So take your smarmy pontificating and shove it.

                      >> Try expressing a conservative opinion here, if you dare.

No need to “dare”. All opinions are welcome.

Are you mistaking LiberalLand for some radical conservative site?

We liberals aren’t like that. We LOVE debating conservatives, when they are factual and logical.

                    • Red Mann December 6th, 2015 at 01:31

And there’s the rub; “factual and logical”.

                    • Mark Johnson December 6th, 2015 at 11:07

You never debate conservatives. You modus operandi is to attack and belittle. Of course, this is because you are not a true liberal but rather common provocateur.

                    • Red Mann December 6th, 2015 at 13:08

Amazing, you make unfounded remarks about straw man liberals attacking and belittling, then turn rigut around and attack and belittle someone. As has been said, conservatives are welcome when the are facvtual and logical, alas, your comment was neither.

                    • Mark Johnson December 6th, 2015 at 16:55

Thanks, Red. Appreciate the insight. BTW, Mensa has 1671 comments on Disqus. I’ve read a good deal of them. And, frankly, I am sick and tired of faux liberal trolls that spew puke and pablum and exist only to incite and infuriate conservatives. Everyday people are losing their lives because of conservative beliefs. This is not a game where we can act like pissants and peckerwoods, playing silly word games with conservatives. We absolutely must convince them that their ideas are killing people.

                    • bpollen December 7th, 2015 at 06:29

Again, you decide who is a “real” liberal. Who authorized you to run the Purity Patrol? Why do you get to act like a pissant peckerwood while berating others for doing the same thing? Isn’t deriding others for behaving like you “playing silly word games?”

Seems to me like YOU are a problem for liberals. Having a Purity Judge is antithetical to a “liberal” viewpoint.

                    • Mark Johnson December 7th, 2015 at 13:14

So you ARE antithetical to a “liberal” viewpoint according to you.

I guess that means the default response to you should be “B.S.”

                    • Mark Johnson December 7th, 2015 at 16:32

Be Strong, bpollen, Be Strong. You type with one hand, while Americans die daily because of conservative ideals still run rampant in this country.

                    • bpollen December 7th, 2015 at 16:46

Wow. The man typing at me is berating me for typing, while he devotes himself to rooting out impurity rather than countering conservative ideals running rampant in this country. And I touch-type with both hands. Whether or not people are simultaneously being killed by “Ideals.”

Liberals really aren’t well served by hypocritical enforcers of orthodoxy. Republicans are big on enforced orthodoxy. Consequently, there are no moderate or centrist Republicans. Yet, you think emulating the Republican party is the way to go. Sounds kinda like an agent provocateur, eh?

Ha, a response within 12 minutes. I really must be the troll that you say I am. Who else would deserve such a quick response. But remember, pissant, while you are perusing the internet, Americans die ever day because of conservative doctrine. So, keep up the good work. Or as the French would say, “L’ignorance, c’est comme la science, ça n’a pas de bornes.”

                    • bpollen December 7th, 2015 at 06:21

Huh… you must have a totally different definition of “debate.” Especially since you interject yourself into a debate to declare one of the debaters isn’t doing what you just interrupted him doing. And that you yourself aren’t debating, you are attacking him as if you were a common provocateur. That’s a Hypocritical Brand Projector.

And who gave you the job of deciding what a “true” anything is?

The lies, hate and fear-mongering of the Republican candidates? The lies hate and fear-mongering of elected Republican officials? The lies, hate and fear-mongering of extremist Christians? Robert,

You are battling a straw man.

If a conservative respectfully states their opinion, we liberals tend to respond in kind. It’s in our nature.

But so many conservatives don’t do that.

Just listen to Alan Colmes’ show if you doubt me. He doesn’t screen conservative callers and this reveals how disrespectful and aggresive the movement is.

Both sides are not equally rude.

Conservatives are FAR MORE rude than liberals.

Civil debate is a core value of liberalism. You can’t say that about conservatism.

I’ve always had problems. I’ll be typing away and look up and whole words are missing, or sometimes it just freezes. IE 11 Windows 10.

                    • whatthe46 December 6th, 2015 at 02:50

i had that problem before. not now though. i changed it to firefox. plus the new computer i bought before i installed firefox, didn’t have the problems. but what i do find is that if the thread is long, i run into that problem. but, it’s nothing like it was before. i would have to wait until a letter is typed before i could type another. irritating i know.

                  Here is what I mean.

Just stating an opinion is fine.

But some people incite violence with their opinions.

                  This is not fine.

For example, falsely accusing Planned Parenthood of “killing babies and selling their parts” is inciting violence.

                  This is not OK.

                  • whatthe46 December 6th, 2015 at 01:43

exactly, like tRumps opinion that all mexicans are murderers and rapist, when it’s so fk’n untrue, to the point where an American man who is hispanic, was brutalized because of it, and tRumps response was, they love their country, is inciting violence. weak minded people, who already have a history of violence and prejudice, will feel it’s fine to commit crimes against others. especially when the mf’er is running for president, praises them.

                    • Mensa Member December 6th, 2015 at 01:51

                      Exactly.

                      Words have consequences.

As in the case of Donald Trump — his words can mean tragedy for some people.

                    • whatthe46 December 6th, 2015 at 01:57

well, “no more baby body parts” rhetoric from the GOP, knowing it was a lie, caused the deaths of 3 innocent people, from a psycho who believed them.

                  • Doug Bristow December 6th, 2015 at 05:37

There is nothing false about it. Planned Parenthood murders babies and sells them to the highest bidder.

                    That is a proven fact.

                    • Bunya December 6th, 2015 at 13:35

Wow! The Army of God is looking for gullible half-wits like you to become their next Scott Roeder.

                    • Doug Bristow December 6th, 2015 at 15:08

I have no idea who those people are.

                    • Bunya December 7th, 2015 at 00:25

Don’t worry. Keep spreading falsehoods about Planned Parenthood and they’ll find you. They’re always looking for dimwits to do their dirty work for them, and you fit the bill. Just think! You can be the next guy to “save babies” by attacking a woman’s clinic, killing innocent people – in Jesus’ name, of course.

                    • Doug Bristow December 7th, 2015 at 01:46

                      What falsehoods?

I condemn any and all murder.

                    • Bunya December 7th, 2015 at 14:11

First of all, Planned Parenthood isn’t killing babies, chopping them up and selling their body parts to the highest bidder That accusation by a Christian organization has been shown to be false a long time ago. And if you think they are killing babies, you’d better call the cops because killing babies is a crime. But please, keep believing the lies and propaganda put out by un-reputable sources and you may find yourself getting a call from the Army of God. They prey on feeble-minded people who’ll believe anything they’re told.
                      .
BTW, since when is a zygote, blastocyte or fetus a “baby”. Did you know fertilized eggs are frozen for further use? Try doing that with a baby and see what happens.

Don’t work that way, bubba. You make the claim, you provide the proof.

I say that you are a serial rapist. Prove me wrong. I say you are a closet coprophage. Prove it’s not true. I say you TAKE money from the collection plate, rob Girl Scouts, and trip the blind. Disprove it.

Incredible claims require incredible proof. Talking shite doesn’t. Which is the case with you? Proof, or shite. Up to you.

do you know that PP also provides health care for men? do you know that PP also provides breast screening for women, who otherwise could not afford it, to screen for cancer? did you know that no federal dollars are used for the 3% of abortions provided at PP? did you know that PP also provides health care for pregnant women (pre-natal)?

                    • Doug Bristow December 7th, 2015 at 01:43

And yet they still murder babies, chop them up and sell them to the highest bidder.

Did you know those other services can be had for low income families elsewhere?

                    • whatthe46 December 7th, 2015 at 02:12

OK, that’s it! you do know it’s not true and yet you choose to spew stupid. i will not respond to any other posts of yours. because it’s very apparent, you are a twisted demented TROLL! and basement dweller. do me a favor, please don’t murder anyone tomorrow.

                    • bpollen December 7th, 2015 at 05:44

Well, if it is proven, you should be able to show this proof. The absence of said proof would constitute a pretty clear sign that you are talking out of your tuches. Either you can show this proof, or you show yourself to be a liar. Be a man! Prove me wrong! You said “proven fact.” Can you get it up? Proof, that is.

        • tracey marie December 7th, 2015 at 07:37

      >> If the same woman posted a respectfully-worded message here in Liberaland beginning with the same words: “I’m a Christian, and a pro-life one”, would those who disagree do so respectfully?

      Yes, I think they would.

    • Kick Frenzy December 6th, 2015 at 01:27

From what I’ve seen, pretty much anyone who doesn’t act like an ass is treated pretty well.

There’s some heat from time to time, but that’s true for like-minded regulars as well.
(I know because I’ve been one half of some heated myself.)

“I’m a Christian, and a pro-life one”-“And I support every women’s Constitutional right to privately choose for a mere 10 weeks, up to 26 weeks with her Dr’s approval.” Just 10% to 20% are dim enough to think they’l outlaw women’s “constitutional Equal rights.”

Guilty conscience for all that was done in the name of christianity ??

  10. CandideThirtythree December 6th, 2015 at 01:48

Way to go Ms. Parker! That was nice, I hope the fundies don’t start sending you death threats or vandalizing your house. Unfortunately, not all Christians are as nice as you.

I have generated 78,000 dollars so far this year working online and I am a full time student. I am attached with an online business entity that I heard about and I have earned such great cash. It is really user friendly and I feel myself lucky to have that option. Why not try this.

      • maggie December 8th, 2015 at 23:49

yeah….I know I haven’t been around for a while…truthfully …you know you just burn out on all the violence….I took a break….I know there was a lot going on….but good news…the supreme court denied NJ appeal on assault weapon ban….;)….yep you are right….raining here lots…not an overwhelming amount….yep….I have my umbrella….so staying dry….it’s been really warm…like the kind of warm that businesses have been keeping their doors open in december…it does that; warms up….when it rains….I think the paris conference made some progress….I think humans all over the globe just have to be committed for the long haul on improving the environment…it’s going to be measured in generations…how’s it going with you?

        • MagnaDave December 9th, 2015 at 00:07

I’m doing OK. We had rain yesterday. That was nice. I’m guessing you didn’t get hit as hard as WA. They had quite a bit of flooding and more rain is on the way. England had a huge storm that caused a lot of problems, too.

I don’t get it: The Supreme Court is making decisions that I agree with lately. Not that I’m complaining, lol.

It warms up here before the rain quite often. It bugs me because it could be cold enough to snow, lol.

          • maggie December 9th, 2015 at 00:17

no …I am south and a little east of most of it….I know…I am wondering if the supreme court wisely sees the writing on the wall that the dems are in until 2024….and the GOP is already in the garbage dump or whether they are finally opening their eyes to all the gun violence…because it simply can’t be ignored….mystery….I am hopeful there will be good progress on gun control since HRC is in til 2024…..I think there are definitely things to be hopeful about but it’s coming through a lot of hard work on the part of citizens keeping the pressure on gov….;)
