NY Daily News To GOP: ‘God Isn’t Fixing This’
The front page of the New York Daily News goes after Republicans who think the answer to problems is to pray.
“As the last batch of innocent Americans are left lying in pools of blood, cowards who could truly end gun scourge continue to hide behind meaningless platitudes,” the cover reads.
The New York Daily News says, “White House hopefuls on the Democratic side of the aisle called for stricter gun laws in the wake of the shooting in San Bernardino that left at least 14 dead. But after yet another mass shooting in America, GOP presidential contenders were conspicuously silent on the issue of gun control. Instead, the Republicans were preaching about prayer.”

If there is a God, he or she will not intervene with every day problems with us humans, we are a sitcom for entertainment!

Sort of like a huge set of live action toys, and, according to Abrahamic religions, he is free to destroy us anyway he wants because since he created us, he can do anything he wants to his toys.

God could fix it, if he/she eliminated some of the obstacles to sensible gun legislation. Because congress isn’t about to do anything. If Sandy Hook didn’t budge them off their ass, nothing will.

Let’s see. God sends hurricanes to Florida because Disney World has a day for LGBTs (ignoring the thousands of years they got hurricanes despite there being no Disney, but God doesn’t send a high murder rate because they have no reasonable gun control.
Gee, I think I could be a modern day conservative if I set my mind to it. But how would I keep from vomiting all over myself if I did?

It never ceases to amaze me that many people keep saying that god loves everyone while we continue to mop up gallons of blood on a daily basis. I am happy the old boy doesn’t hate us.

Nothing fails like prayer. Not that an imaginary deity can fix anything anyway.

Please God, let me Prove to you that winning the Lottery will not ruin me. Yup, praying works every time.

When and IF we choose to take NRA bribery out of the equation, then and only then can we address the root of the problem. This list of NRA campaign recipients should be a wakeup call.

I know the right will accuse the democrats of calling for “gun control” but this is how the three democratic candidates responded:
Horrifying news out of #SanBernardino. Enough is enough: it’s time to stand up to the @NRA and enact meaningful gun safety laws— Martin O’Malley (@MartinOMalley) December 2, 2015
I refuse to accept this as normal. We must take action to stop gun violence now. -H https://t.co/SkKglwQycb— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) December 2, 2015
Mass shootings are becoming an almost-everyday occurrence in this country. This sickening and senseless gun violence must stop.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) December 2, 2015
Notice none of them used the words “gun control.”
The Original Just Me December 3rd, 2015 at 14:29
Very Good observation. It is the Violence that has got to stop and THAT falls right into the INFLUENCE coming from the RIGHT.

Let us pray

California already has pretty strong gun control. Assault weapons are basically illegal in CA. Some people have grandfathered ones, but they have to keep the letter of proof with the gun. A rifle that would normally be considered an assault weapon must not have a detachable magazine to prevent easy reloading.

Excellent article. “Let us pray” is a bullsh*t excuse and just another way of saying “Since I refuse to rectify the problem, I’ll pacify my religious base by telling them to ask their imaginary sky fairy for help”. Jesus H. Christ! I can’t believe people actually believe this crap! I’m reminded of the movie, “Idiocracy”, where a man awakens from a coma in the future and all the people are really stupid.

A new Day and a new direction for the New York Times. You just never know where they will go next. Not that I am disagreeing with them on this one.

Gender is really only pertinent if procreating is something you do. In a lot of religions, Gawds procreate all over the place. In the Abrahamic religions, Gawd wiggled a figurative nose and created an “immaculate
receptionconception.”rg9rts December 4th, 2015 at 06:09

I always envisioned Joseph learning about Jebus like this:
“It was an angel, Joseph. Really. A…a… an Archangel!”
