Houston Moves To Decriminalize Marijuana
You can now have small amounts of marijuana in Houston without being carted off to jail according to Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson.
The county’s top prosecutor outlined changes to a pilot plan for low-level offenders she implemented last year, one that she called a “huge cultural change for Harris County.”
Instead of arresting first offenders caught with less than 2 ounces of marijuana, all police officers across Harris County will offer a diversion program and release the suspect, Anderson said.

Another step in decriminalizing cannabis. Next comes legalization.

Dallas was supposed to start doing this last year as well (there was a law passed by the Texas legislature in 2007 allowing it), but the Police Chief just ignored the city council and continued caging cannabis offenders. It will be interesting to see if Houston police actually do as they are told.

Good, maybe people won’t be hauled off to jail over a small amount of weed! More fathers will be at home and the right wouldn’t be able to use that as a talking point, if the whole country jump on board!

You can expect the idiot they elected governor to pass a law stopping this rational approach.
