Ireland To Decriminalize Heroin, Cocaine, Marijauana

Some countries are smarter than we are when it comes to fighting the drug war.

Aodhan O’ Riordain, the chief of Ireland’s National Drugs Strategy, announced on Nov. 2 that the country is planning to decriminalize small amounts of heroin, cocaine and marijuana in 2016.

O’ Riordain made the announcement during a speech to the London School of Economics. He said that drug users will be provided special injection rooms in Dublin, notes The Independent.

O’ Riordain believed that more of these injection rooms would follow in Cork, Galway and Limerick.

However, it would still be a crime to sell or distribute illicit drugs.

Treat the disease as a disease, help the addicts to get help and if they don’t make sure they are not getting illnesses

A lot of people want to get ‘high’. Even little kids (who don’t know ‘better’) spin in circles to get ‘dizzy’/high. Some folks over do it…but most don’t. Alcohol, pot, tobbaco, coffee, running can all be over done. Extremism should not be a crime.

I feel sad for those who can’t control their consumption. This Irish measure will not harm them. If people want to go out like that it’s better to let them go out like that. Did I just write that? I don’t have the answer. I do know that solid law enforcement has not solved the problem. I feel sad for those who will suffer from this legislation.

I agree but how do you over do weed? Just makes you more hungry and relaxed! IMO!

A step in the right direction. It’s an illness. Treat it as such.
