Home Schooling Group Cancels Duggar Speech

The Duggars have been canceled from a speech they were to give in April to a Canadian home schooling group.

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar were scheduled to give a speech at the Alberta Home Education Association (AHEA) homeschooling conference in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, on April 8-9, 2016, but the organization recently axed the Duggars (video below).

According to a press release on Nov. 1, AHEA president Paul van den Bosch wrote: “Although early feedback from our members this summer was supportive of having the Duggars come here, recent feedback from our own members points out that their appearance here would not be in the best interest of home educators,” notes CBC News…

Van den Bosch added in the press release: “As we have learned, child abuse can happen in any home and is never ‘old news.'”

However, that contradicts the AHEA’s original defense of the Duggars on the organization’s website: “The controversy surrounding actions taken by Josh Duggar is really ‘old news.’ The events happened more than a decade ago and were dealt with legally and morally at that time,” reports Buzzfeed.
