Congressman Alan Grayson believes that his ethics complaint led to Kevin McCarthy pulling out of the speakership race. He talked to me Thursday night.

COLMES: Do you believe you are responsible for him stepping down?

REP. GRAYSON: Well he said something interesting in the news conference right after his decision about a ½ hour after his announcement, a reporter asked him was the controversy about the Benghazi committee was something that made this happen. And his answer was “it sure didn’t help.”…

COLMES: Are you happy to see Boehner go?

REP. GRAYSON: Absolutely, I think that Boehner was a short order cook for the right wing. And that’s not what this institution was meant to inspire…he just curried favor by whatever means that he could, and McCarthy was exactly the same way.
