A Colombian priest believes he’s captured the image of the Virgin Mary in a forest fire that’s raged through a region of his country.

It was captured by Father Pito on his camera phone in Paramillo y El Rosa, in the San Sebastian region of Cauca, which has been devastated by the blaze.

Villagers are convinced that they can make out the Madonna and hope it may be a sign from God that their fortunes are about to change…

One villager told local TV: ‘Yes it’s true that you can see her image in the middle of the flames.

    As an artist I see shapes in shadows on a wall….One I made into a stain glass of a nymph, doesn’t mean it really was a nymph.
