Republican Congressman Fundraising Off Boycotting Pope Who ‘Pander[s] To The Left’
Paul Gosar is trying to make money off his boycott of Pope Francis’s appearance before Congress, trying to pass the pope off as a pandering leftist.
He sent out a fundraising email to supporters, The Washington Post reports, saying that “Unlike his predecessors, who focused on issues of religious extremism, abortion, and traditional values, Pope Francis has instead given up his chance to make a significant impact on these policies.”
He cites Colbert’s segment and other attacks in the liberal media before making his fundraising pitch:
I need your help to raise $25,000 more by the end of September. YOU can help me defend myself against the left. You may have noticed that the liberal media has embraced this Pope unlike none other in our time… reinforcing an almost rockstar-like status never before seen for the leader of the Catholic Church. This from the left, who generally ridicule religion. So it begs the question as to why they have never before embraced a Pope in this fashion.

Congressmen need to get busy during the first year of their term to make their views known because most of the second year campaigning to get re-elected. They do so so they won’t be viewed as by their constituents as a “do-nothing representative”.
Maybe Mr. Gosar should have given greater consideration to being a “do-nothing representative”.
