#ShoutYourAbortion Co-Founder On Why More Women Should

Amelia Bonow write a startlingly candid piece for Salon about her abortion, and co-founded the meme #shoutyourabortion with Lindy West and Kimberly Morrison. She talked to me Wednesday night about her own experience with Planned Parenthood, which directly contradicts everything conservatives would have you believe.

She told me that it was the anti-Planned parenthood videos and the call for the organization to be defunded that made her decide to be so open about her experience. She also talked about the vicious responses she has gotten from the pro-life movement, how having a child would be more difficult than having the abortion for some, and why the 2016 Republican field for President makes her feel like “the world is ending.”
