Kentucky clerk Kim Davis isn’t upset when she’s called “Hitler” or “homophobe.” It’s when someone tells her God doesn’t love her.

Kim Davis said that the harsh words she’s received since trying to deprive same-sex couples of their right to marry don’t “define her,” characterizing the criticism as “everybody’s opinion” and “everybody’s right.”

“I’ve called ‘Hitler,’ I’ve been called ‘hypocrite,’ I’ve been called a homophobe,” said Davis in the interview, which is scheduled to air Tuesday. “I’ve been called things and names that I didn’t even say when I was in the world. Those names don’t hurt me.”

Davis did not elaborate on what those words she never used pre-martyrdom (and which presumably also begin with ‘H’) actually were, but she did identify the one thing you could say to make her feel bad, if you wanted to do that, for some reason.

“What probably hurt me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me or that my God is not happy with me, that I am a hypocrite of a Christian,” said Davis.

    Truth hurts Ms. Davis. If your God does exist, he’ll take you to judgment day and give you an earful of how much he despises people who use his name to discriminate against his creations.

    While I can’t stand this lady or how she chooses to act, I also can’t stand many of the comments here.

    Every single one of you who jump on board the “fat/ugly” train are just ruining any argument you try to make.
    Your soapbox withers under the weight of your crude judgement.

    There is plenty to point out that is wrong with how this woman acts, but you’re no better than her when you make fun of her appearance.
    It’s also a disservice when you refer to her having been married multiple times.
    She stated she wasn’t a born-again Christian until her 4th marriage… in the eyes of the Christian God, this is pretty much fine… especially when she says she asked for forgiveness.

    If you want your words to mean something, use them against points which can bear the weight of your judgement.
    Railing against a point which can be reasonably argued to be invalid just makes any decent points wither on the same vine.

    If Ms Davis took a little time to think about it, she’d realize she actually doesn’t love her god, she just uses him to hate the same people she hates. I used to argue with bible crazies but I discovered that most are only looking for words to reinforce their own sadness and displeasure. She seems like an unhappy person and wants other folks to be as unhappy as she is. I don’t think she knows what god is at all.

    See, that’s the problem. These bible-thumping Apostolics believe themselves to be separated from “the world.” Well, great, get out of the world — but your sweet, taxpayer-funded, Top 1% of East Bumf*ck Kentucky job is OF the world. So do it or quit it.

    So where were you Kim, when the late Fred Phelps was spouting that “God
    Hates Fags”? And now that you know the pain someone feels when told
    that their personal God or Savior doesn’t love them, are you going to
    take a stand against the likes of Fred Phelps? Of course you’re not,
    because God doesn’t hate the GLBTQ community, it’s you who hates them.
    And do you know why you’ve been called a bigot and a hypocrite? That’s
    because you are one. You’re right that we’re all entitled to our own
    opinions, but we’re not entitled to our own facts. The facts clearly
    prove your bigotry and intolerance; your rationalizations for your
    actions are so disingenuous that a 12 year old could pick them apart.
    But worse yet, you and your supporters try to define my savior (who
    happens to be Jesus Christ, but that’s not the point) in a way that
    denies me His love. How despicable that you should shed tears over the
    fact that some have claimed this about you. And just for the record, Kim
    Davis, God does love you and has never stopped, but I don’t hate you.
    My savior tells me “Love thy neighbor……thy poor neighbor, thy white
    neighbor, thy disabled neighbor, thy gay neighbor, thy Christian
    neighbor, thy straight neighbor, thy addicted neighbor, thy Muslim
    neighbor……and yes, especially thy bigoted neighbor

    In an interview aired Tuesday, Kim Davis said, “What probably hurt me the worst is when someone tells me that my God does not love me.”

    Are you referring to the exact same words you tell gay children and adults over and over and over?

    I thought she was a hypocrite for getting married four times but refusing to let gay couples marry, but this? She is literally lower than worm shit.
