Trump Finally Cites Bible Verse–Only It Doesn’t Exist

Posted by | September 16, 2015 20:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

The Donald first said it was “too personal” when asked his favorite Bible verse after saying it’s his favorite book. Now, appearing on the Christian Broadcasting Network, his attempt to pander failed.

“There’s so many things that you can learn from it (The Bible),”CNN reports Trump told the Christian Broadcasting Network in an interview. “Proverbs, the chapter ‘never bend to envy.’ I’ve had that thing all of my life where people are bending to envy.”

CNN tried to find the Proverb that says “never bend to envy,” and came up short, and notes that while Trump has cited the Bible as his favorite book on numerous occasions, he’s never been able to quote an actual verse…

During the CBN interview, Trump then compared the Bible to a good movie that gets better every time you see it, and said it is “special.”

“The Bible, is special. The Bible, the more you see it, the more you read it, the more incredible it is. I don’t like to use this analogy, but like a great movie, a great, incredible movie. You’ll see it once it will be good. You’ll see it again. You can see it 20 times and every time you’ll appreciate it more. The Bible is the most special thing.”

I am too… I always thought there were two kinds of guys – Mary Ann guys and Ginger guys… until I met a Mrs. Howell guy!

What, you never met a Professor guy?

I’ve never discussed Gilligan’s Island with any of my gay friends. Not sure why. It’s not like they couldn’t “get” it. After viewing one episode, you can predict how EVERY episode will go.

Maybe because I would have preferred that this show lasted, and Gilligan’s Island didn’t…

I thought I was the only one who remembered that show. Imogene Coca, right? I just looked it up, and it was created by the same guy who did Gilligan. They used the same sets, props and music.

                  Yupper… A veritable Ed Wood…

Imogene Coca was hilarious in anything.

Love me some Annie… And, though a change of pace, Nostalgia is a good work.

Bet he doesn’t know that lying is a sin, not that it matters to this person. His “god” is money.

it’s not in the old testament and it’s not in the new testament. it’s in the new new testament that he’s writing. duh.

he cut a check to them and forgot to wait until they gave him the perfect verse, before canceling it.

Trump’s ideological leanings are more aligned with “Mein Kampf” than with the Bible.

  6. Mike September 16th, 2015 at 21:53

Maybe it’s in “The Art of The Deal”…??? His 2nd favorite book…

    There!

just goes to show what a little ‘splaining can do.
I use to wonder how the WHITE LYING THIEVING Republicon Konservative Kristians would be able to support Donald, his lifestyle, shady business dealing, etc. and now I know.

    HE’S EXACTLY LIKE THEM!

even the make ’em up as you go along scriptures ’cause it’s easier to just make stuff up than actually trying to remember something you don’t like!

way to go Donald! – and remember, you can get a BS degree in divinity on line for an extremely small amount (certificate and all) sos you can just flash it out instead of actually having to answer any biblical questions!

He can say most anything. Few christians ever read the bible and even fewer obey it’s teachings. Since no one is likely to look it up, he can get away with it.
NO FAIR that a reporter went a looked. That’s cheating.

Any Christian who votes for Trump can’t be a true Christian.

But there are very few actual Christians in the Republican Party. A lot of ignorant gullible hateful freaks who think that they’re Christian.

    My favorite quote:

Thou shalt expend thy energies and reputation obstructing gay marriage.

    Oh nuts!

  11. pinballsdoll September 17th, 2015 at 12:09

I can’t believe anyone is gullible enough to think that Donald Trump reads the bible.

  12. Bunya September 17th, 2015 at 14:20

Hey, it worked for a thrice married christchun adulterer who was looking for her 15-minutes of fame. so it’s not so far fetched to believe that Trump reads the bible.
