A member of the Philadelphia Police Department has been reassigned to desk duty and had his service weapon taken from him after a video surfaced showing him pressuring a driver to purchase a ticket for a police fundraiser.

On the video, Officer Matthew Zagursky is shown holding the tickets in his hand and saying:

You and your friend got any money to buy these thrill show tickets? Support your police department? Ten bucks each, man. Either you buy these, or I take your car. ‘Cause it’s unregistered. Ten bucks each, man….READ MORE at  LiberalAmerica

Cops have got to be pretty dumb if they don’t understand in this day and age everything is being filmed…

    • whatthe46 August 22nd, 2015 at 12:48

      and that’s a good thing.

      • Mike August 22nd, 2015 at 12:55

I guess, I still think it would just be better if they did their job honestly…:)

        • whatthe46 August 22nd, 2015 at 13:00

of course. but, they are not. and w/o this video he would be doing the same thing to someone else. wonder how many more he’s done this to. it’s called blackmail and it’s a crime. he should have been fired and arrested. jmho.

Yeah, this isn’t the first time this cop did this.

If the good ones remain silent, they are as bad as the bad ones IMO.

There are a few good cops like the one that cried when he couldn’t save that little black child that died! Had me teary eyed!

The vast majority of cops are no doubt good people, they have to be or it would be anarchy out there. And the job is not an easy one by any stretch of the imagination. However, it only takes a couple bad apples to convince the American public the opposite is true.
The same goes for race, lawyers, plumbers, or any other people you can throw into a group to sate your narrative.

you’re right. and i don’t believe every cop is bad, but, it’s hard to know who’s bad and who isn’t when you have those who have likely never done anything other than “protect and serve” with a good mind. but, those same ones (well with the exception of very few) will cover for those who have done wrong. and doesn’t help. so, it’s really hard to know who to trust.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt until they prove me wrong. And like you say, it’s not easy. If I didn’t, I’d be nothing but a hypocrite. I don’t want to be judged by the color of my skin, the language I speak, the length of my hair, or the job I do everyday…I call those who do that, bigots, and I like to think I’m not one. (didn’t say I haven’t done it either, it’s still a work in progress)

i just read this about this pos:

Fearing retaliation, the Facebook page where the videos appeared was set up under a false username.

In another video, not immediately available online, Zagursky apparently jokes with the motorist about the bright pink color of windshield wipers on his vehicle.

“And what’s up with the… wipers?” he says.

“Breast cancer, man; my grandmom went through it,” the driver replies.

“Breast cancer I can understand, but can’t you support breast cancer another way?” Zagursky says. “You look like you’re a fruitcake. You know, what the hell?

              Exactly!

      • fahvel August 23rd, 2015 at 03:00

“and that’s a good thing” ?????? you sure?

        • whatthe46 August 23rd, 2015 at 03:25

it’s not so much they don’t understand, they are dumb in a sense that they don’t have any filters and are so used to doing whatever they want and getting away with it, that all common sense is effectively non-exsistent in their world. so, yes it’s a good thing because they are being filmed doing exactly what they’ve been doing only now they get to be held accountable.

Not condoning it but….$20 is cheap if in fact the car wasnot registered

    • whatthe46 August 22nd, 2015 at 13:15

i would rather pay my fine than to give money to crooked cops. i was pulled over last week because i just simply forgot to register my car. (which i think is stupid that you have to do this every damn year). anyway, i got a citation, but, the citation was dismissed because you have a 60 day window in order to get it. i got my the next day. and furthermore, i had insurance but didn’t print out the new card and i got a citation for that, which when i sent in the copy, that too was dismissed. there was no threat of my car being towed. and i’ve never heard of a person threatened to have their car towed for no registration. he should have been fired.

      • Tommie August 22nd, 2015 at 13:54

I heard about the 60 day window but never knew if it was true. Thanks for proving that it’s true!

What is this Mexico, i once had to pay 50 bucks to get my 75 Chevy glasshouse out of mexico because i just bought it and just had the paper registration and not the actual plate yet but it is happening here in America now also! Nice job officer! SMH!

    • whatthe46 August 22nd, 2015 at 14:04

we don’t have paper registration here in tx. it’s just a sticker that goes on your windshield. with a one year expiration date on it. and i know you’re talking about the license plate that just a paper that you can tape onto here the actual plate goes because it’s newly purchased. yes, those come with an expiration date on it, but i think it’s like 30 -60 days as well.
