Hillary Will Turn Over Mail Server To DOJ

Posted by | August 12, 2015 09:00 | Filed under: Top Stories

Trey “Joe McCarthy Jr.” Gowdy has been doing his best to turn the “Hillary Clinton’s e-mail” nothingburger into a major scandal, using what was supposed to be a select committee into the attack on a US diplomatic compound in Benghazi as a de facto opposition research operation targeting the Democratic front-runner. Gowdy and his cohorts have failed to find anything, choosing instead to insinuate that Hillary did something or other as their panel begins to take on water.

Which leads to the question: With the news that broke last night, did Hillary just throw his committee an anchor?

Hillary Clinton will turn over her private email server and a backup thumb drive to the Justice Department, her spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

The news comes just hours after the Intelligence Community Inspector General told Congress that her email server contained emails that have now been classified “top secret.”

In other words, they were not “top secret” when they were received and/or sent.

Spokesman Nick Merrill said Clinton “pledged to cooperate with the government’s security inquiry.”

“She directed her team to give her email server that was used during her tenure as Secretary to the Department of Justice, as well as a thumb drive containing copies of her emails already provided to the State Department,” Merrill said in a statement provided to The Hill.

“If there are more questions, we will continue to address them.”

In other words, “We’ll throw ’em another anchor or two as needed..

The statement added that Clinton has worked with State to “ensure that her emails are stored in a safe and secure manner.”

While Clinton turned over the emails she deemed work-related, she deleted a similar amount that her team said were strictly personal.

Clinton’s use of her personal email server has dogged her since even before she entered the presidential race, and some Democrats have worried that it has contributed to her fledgling poll numbers on trustworthiness.

There is a strong argument to be made for using an “off the grid” mail server, but Gowdy and his fellow travelers hope you have a short memory:

Overlooked in the controversy over Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, is the fact that suspected Russian hackers have bedeviled State Department’s email system for much of the past year and continue to pose problems for technicians trying to eradicate the intrusion.

Federal law enforcement, intelligence and congressional officials briefed on the investigation say the hack of the State email system is the “worst ever” cyberattack intrusion against a federal agency. The attackers who breached State are also believed to be behind hacks on the White House’s email system, and against several other federal agencies, the officials say.

HRC released 55,000 pages of emails following repubs 50 weeks of hearings per year, 8+ Benghazi GOP investigations all concurring “0 indictments” “no wrongdoing by the Obama admin or Secretary Clinton” “no stand down order”. So now HRC’s hiring of former Secret Service to encrypt her email server, is all the misogynist Republiklans have to run on.

She’d be better off finding a 16 year old hacker to ‘encrypt’ her server.

      • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 17:21

I have better encryption than Hillary on my home computer.

Based on the display of intelligence you’ve presented here, I sorta doubt it, Dunce.

But, suffice to say Hillary’s home server, set up for her by competent staff who specialize in such things, was never hacked, despite the obvious impetus for such shenanigans by right wing nuts who simply live for Hillary gossip and slander, bless their pointy little heads.

The same cannot be said for government servers, as you know.

Which sorta makes Hillary’s decision to keep it local a wise and prudent one.

Encryption is simple. However ‘decryption up to the year 2030 requires AES-256’-The NIST.

Sorry but it is the FBI hurling accusations at Hillary, not Trey Gowdy.

That won’t stop the ‘conspiracy’ nuts from making claims of ‘editing’ or ‘selective deletes’. The right wing nut jobs are never satisfied with the truth.

    • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 17:19

Not to worry.. this is the FBI throwing stones at Hillary’s sloppy use of top secret material. The conspiracy nuts better get busy coming up with a story that includes the FBI and Justice Department if they are going to excuse Hillary from this mess.

As pressure builds on Hillary Clinton to explain her official use of personal email while serving as secretary of state, she faced new complications Tuesday. It was disclosed her top aides are being drawn into a burgeoning federal inquiry and that two emails on her private account have been classified as “Top Secret.”

So it seems that there just might have been sensitive, classified and secret information transmitted on her private server.
Four of forty reviewed so far it look like they contained sensitive and higher classification.
Wondered how as Secretary of State you could do your job without sending sensitive, or classified documents.

    • dave-dr-gonzo August 12th, 2015 at 16:31

The reason is actually simple: because the information was not classified at the time it was sent to or received by the server.

It’s a much different situation than, say, Petraeus’s classified email scandal (http://www.alan.com/2015/08/12/amazing-mark-halperin-casually-destroys-hillary-clinton-email-talking-point/)

      • amongoose August 12th, 2015 at 16:35

So why were they not classified if they were indeed classified?
        Did the sender not know?
Incompetence isn’t much of a defense.
        .
And again, how can you be secretary of state and not deal with and transmit classified information?

        • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 19:27

Simple! GOP Airheads were not at that time, in charge of anything e.g. House and Senate Intelligence Committees.

BTW. You don’t even know what Top Secret means: ‘that doesn’t exist.’ Just like the smarter Bush Jr’s WMD’s in Iraq, supposedly made after GHWB Sr’s 1991 Iraq war.

      • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 17:16

The 4 of 40 emails examined by the FBI contained top secret classified material.

        • ChrisVosburg August 13th, 2015 at 00:19

No, they were reclassified as a result of sifting through the emails to honor a FOIA request, and nothing more. All of them bore no such classification when they were originally sent and received.

But you knew that. Why the bullshit, Sonny?

      • Dancquill August 13th, 2015 at 20:26

Top secret all the way. Two out of 40 randomly selected Hillary emails of thousands and thousands mind you. You don’t seem to grasp any fact. The other two emails she had on her server were classified. You are fired.. for incompetence. Hillary I mean.

HRC’s server encrypted all ‘data at rest’ meeting or exceeding Federal Information Processing Standards A/K/A FIPS 140-2. HRC privately hired former Secret Service experts to encrypt her server, never displaying unencrypted cleartext without authorized PKPK PKI keys. It’s no wonder you uninformed GOP TV clowns are stuck with Trump / Palin’16~

      • Dwendt44 August 14th, 2015 at 17:29

It was down to two the last I heard and perhaps only one as the one in the news today dealt with a drone strike and it’s aftermath. So it’s a review of PAST activities.

As I’ve mentioned before, the menu when I was in the Air Force was classified ‘confidential’. And this was on an airbase with obsolete F-100s that were likely to never see combat again. the few F-100’s that did see use in Thailand were the last version of that plane and not the ones I was stationed with.

      • Dancquill August 17th, 2015 at 22:06

Does after the fact mean that Hillary gets a pass if she or her sender wiped out the emails classified or top secret classification? IF an email was top secret, does Hillary get a free pass if she let it go?

        • OldLefty August 17th, 2015 at 22:10

It doesn’t mean any more than it did with Colin Powell.

          On ABC’s
This Week, former Sec. of State Colin Powell admitted that he used a private
email account for public business. Powell’s explanation of why he used a
private email account amounted to a death blow for Republicans who are trying
to build a scandal out of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

          POWELL: So
we put in place new systems, bought 44,000 computers and put a new Internet
capable computer on every single desk in every embassy, every office in the
State Department. And then I connected it with software.

          But in order
to change the culture, to change the brainware, as I call it, I started using
it in order to get everybody to use it, so we could be a 21st century
institution and not a 19th century.

          But I
retained none of those e-mails and we are working with the State Department to
see if there’s anything else they want to discuss with me about those e-mails.

          EPHANOPOULOS:
          So they want…

          POWELL:
(INAUDIBLE) have a stack of them.

          STEPHANOPOULOS:
          — they’ve asked you to turn them over, but you don’t have them, is that it?

POWELL: I don’t have any — I don’t have any to turn over. I did not keep a cache of them.
I did not print them off. I do not have thousands of pages somewhere in my
          personal files.

It’s a phony inside the beltway issue.

  5. arc99 August 12th, 2015 at 17:52

With Bill Clinton it was Vince Foster and Monica.

With HIlary Clinton it is email and BENGHAZI!

In both situations, the overriding message from the GOP and its far right wing base is crystal clear.

They cannot beat the Clintons at the ballot box, and they know it.

    • Dancquill August 13th, 2015 at 18:53

No. With Slick Willie it was more his lying to a Federal Court. That was the basis of his impeachment and his disbarment before the Supreme Court and the Arkansas courts, as well as his hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines for doing so..

      • Dwendt44 August 14th, 2015 at 17:26

Most of us would fail THAT test. When anyone mentions ‘sexual relations’ most everyone, even genital obsessed conservatives, they think intercourse.
Since Monica offered oral gratification, it’s easy to say there wasn’t a sexual relationship. This is even more true when dealing with those from the south.
        And Arkansas is considered ‘south’.

        • Dancquill August 17th, 2015 at 22:03

blow jobs are sexual relations in most peoples minds. Just not Clintons or his wife’s or yours.

  6. ChrisVosburg August 12th, 2015 at 18:57

I’ll say this for Trey Gowdy (pictured below in undated file photo)– he’s proving to be every bit the smarmy, petulant, disingenuous ratfucker his predecessor Darrell Issa was.

    • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 22:35

Trey Goudy isn’t forcing Hillary to come clean. The FBI and Justice Department are. Hillary road blocked Gowdy’s inquiry. She will need to pull a whole lot more strings to do that with the FBI and career Justice Department officials. This supposed picture of a young Goudy looks fake.. and a put-up diversion from what the FBI is forcing Hillary to reveal.

      • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 22:42

“0 indictments” is because Issa / Gowdy’s 50 weeks of hearings per year ‘have NO evidence.’ in fact Issa / Gowdy hearings debunked themselves.

        • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 22:45

Her stone wall has broken down. FBI cannot be held at bey. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/12/the-spy-satellite-secrets-in-hillary-s-emails.html

          • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 22:57

Why didn’t the DOJ refer this to indictment for prosecution?

Dancquil: Well some WND, Breitbart, FNC & VICTORIA Jones conspiracy theorists claim….

            • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 23:02

The stonewalling is months old. The FBI has apparently not bought into the Clinton explainations and claims. Top Secret material cannot be played in the press as she did before.

              • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 23:03

You’re debunked by 55,000 pages released. Buh-bye until YOU have proof.
                Poof! Ya’ll have no proof.

                • Dancquill August 12th, 2015 at 23:08

You have examined these pages” FBI examined only 40 emails and found 2 Top Secret and 2 Classified. You lack logic. Of course the FBI can try and reconstitute the emails that Hillary has purged so far. She is in deep doo doo.

                  • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 23:19

FBI ‘examined’ 100% of the text with KEYWORD searches, etc.
They’re very good at forensics ya’ll know? Does GOP leader Rusty Limbaugh know these edit/search thingamajigs? A: Nope!

                    • Dancquill August 13th, 2015 at 20:24

Word searching Hillary’s emails won’t pass the smell test. She wiped her servers clean. FBI will not employ KEYWORD searches unless they are in Hillary’s back pocket.. such as you are.

                    • OldLefty August 17th, 2015 at 22:06

Actually, she is not dropping at all.

                    • Dancquill August 17th, 2015 at 22:55

Clinton’s zipper is unimportant. His lies before a court of justice are important. That is now he lost his license to practice law before the Supreme Court and the Arkansas courts were important. His fines before both the supreme court and the Arkansas court are also important. Around a million dollars.

                    • OldLefty August 18th, 2015 at 06:35

It’s not really important. And the Supreme Court merely
denied the writ of Certiorari that Clinton was seeking. (they don’t “fine”.

It was just witch hunt and the old perjury trap, (the only
reason to bring Paula Jones in at all), which is why Clinton maintained high
approval while that of his opponents plummeted.

I maintain that Republican men have always been obsessed by what they call “the clenis”

                  • William August 13th, 2015 at 00:01

The e-mails were not classified when they were sent to her.

                    • Dancquill August 13th, 2015 at 20:21

Several of the emails were top secret. That is from a small FBI sampling of her emails so far. She wiped a lot of her server information out. Let’s see if the FBI can reconstitute or recover it elsewhere. She cannot bury the truth forever.

                    • Obewon August 13th, 2015 at 20:37

Having been debunked, you remain duped and mired in your own cesspool of delusions having no evidence, indictment, or any active or open FBI-DOJ investigation of HRC.

You seem to have Clinton’45 confused with indicted & disarmed Felon Guber Rick Perry’16~

                    • Dancquill August 13th, 2015 at 20:43

Indictments? Without a full investigation? You are delusional. FBI doesn’t do indictments until evidence has been collected. Her server and thumb drives have only now been surrendered by force of law.
Hillary can only claim she destroyed her email evidence for her own personal reasons. FBI doesn’t buy stupid as a defense.

You have nothing to back up your statement but an FBI investigation on Hillary’s email, servers and treatment of top secret and state secrets. I never call a thing criminal until it is criminal. You dummy. Nothing is criminal until it is shown to be.

                    • William August 14th, 2015 at 07:41

You have absolutely nothing to back up yours. Just like Benghazi (the most investigated event in our history). Investigation after investigation has revealed nothing. Nobody indicted, nobody charged, nothing. So keep drooling. It keeps you busy while the adults continue to do adult things.

“Nothing is criminal until it is shown to be”
                      Exactly…and you have nothing.

That’s correct. A spokesman for the Justice department made it clear that the investigation was to ascertain if any electronic data was compromised. IE the server is being examined. Ms Clinton is not the subject of the investigation. Sorry to ruin your little troll fantasy.

                Oh wait she has.

We are used to this, Dunce– dating back to the Whitewater slander days, every time a new piece of evidence is presented (a-ha!), it merely serves to reinforce her recount of events.

Clinton has turned over 30,490 work emails to the State Department in response to a request from the agency, but said that she deleted another 31,830 personal emails.

But in June, after Clinton’s longtime confidant Sidney Blumenthal gave the House committee emails between him and the former secretary of state, the State Department realized it was missing all or part of 15 emails.

“This confirms doubts about the completeness of Clinton’s self-selected public record and raises serious questions about her decision to erase her personal server _ especially before it could be analyzed by an independent, neutral third party arbiter.” Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of House Select Committee on Benghazi

Except The Source is the State Dept! “the State Department realized it was missing all or part of 15 emails.” Hillary? (R-SC) Trey Gowdy wants all 55,000 pages of U.S. State Dept emails for some guy named Ben Ghazi.

        – Did the office of POTUS ever communicate any classified information with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Madam’s private unsecured email server?

        – what backup/archival systems were used to duplicate copies of email on the server, and are any still available? If not, how were they disposed?

        – Ms. Clinton claims ~30k emails were personal and deleted them. However, there is evidence that aids sent classified information (collected from their email accounts) to Madam Secretary’s server and were not located among the ~30k emails Madam Secretary submitted as work-related. “This confirms doubts about the completeness of Clinton’s self-selected public record and raises serious questions about her decision to erase her personal server _ especially before it could be analyzed by an independent, neutral third party arbiter.” What is the process and chain of command that resulted in these confidential, work-related emails being misidentified as “personal”, set apart from the trove of work-related email ordered to be submitted by Madam Secretary?

        – Under penalty of perjury, does Madam Secretary still retain copies of her personal emails during her tenure at the State Dept anywhere and how many?

        • Obewon August 12th, 2015 at 21:31

You’re an easily debunked nutcase Adolph-lerson. Secretary Colin Powell and Condoleza Rice BOTH used the same private email servers and say ‘HRC did nothing wrong.’

Exactly, she has classified emails on an unauthorized account, not to mention she allowed said classified material to be in the possession of someone without any govt clearance. Kind of familiar to Patreaus’s case right? Didn’t he get fined and several years of probation?

      • Böcker August 14th, 2015 at 09:22

Get over it, her having that server wasn’t illegal, it was President Clinton’s and it was secure. Not the same as the General’s case who was sharing secrets with his lover, so no comparisons.

      • ChrisVosburg August 14th, 2015 at 11:54

Exactly, she has classified emails on an unauthorized account, not to mention she allowed said classified material to be in the possession of someone without any govt clearance.

She did not keep classified emails on her server, so there’s your first lie.

It was not an unauthorized account, so there’s your second lie.

She did not share any classified material with anyone without gov’t clearance so that’s your third lie.

Her case is not similar to that of Petraeus, who knew full well that the info he mishandled was classified, so there’s your fourth lie.

All of this has been repeatedly and exhaustively debunked. A good primer can be found here, which you won’t read, because it debunks numerous falsehoods that you choose to believe because you are mentally ill.

Didn’t he [Petraeus] get fined and several years of probation?

Yes, unlike Hillary, he did something illegal. That’s the first true statement you’ve made. I’m assuming it’s accidental.

Good luck with your debilitating illness, loser, you’re pathetic.

        • Dancquill August 17th, 2015 at 22:44

Why lie for Hillary and her pathetic mishandling of classified and top secret information. Save yourself. Your soul is more important than lying and winning for the progressive cause.

            • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 19:20

We did? A few days ago? The Clintons would call that old news. Past history.

        • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 08:48

Wait, did she or didn’t she keep classified info on her server? I’m getting confused by the day with reports like this one continuing to come out.

          http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/aug/17/new-hillary-clinton-email-count-305-documents-pote/?page=2

And since you keep spouting off falsehoods, I will go item by item here.

“She did not keep classified emails on her server, so there’s your first lie”. Numerous reports have detailed that there are classified material in the messages on her server. The question remains, whether they had any classified markings on them. As your leftist propaganda machine correctly points out, it appears that none of the emails had classified markings, but she should and is expected to know, what is classified material and what is not. Simply claiming there were no markings on the emails is not a valid defense.

“She did not share any classified material with anyone without gov’t clearance so that’s your third lie.” Really? Her lawyer has gov’t clearance? From what agency and how high does it reach? I was unaware of civilian lawyers having top secret clearance, but since you are saying otherwise, I’m sure you have a source to back up your claim. If you provide such a source I will admit that I am wrong, and perhaps to your pleasure, admit that I lied. Not sure of the political leanings of this site, but it appears it is not one you will wish to site in your quest for HC’s lawyer’s clearance. http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/08/fbi-finally-takes-hillarys-thumb-drives-from-her-lawyer.php

“Her case is not similar to that of Petraeus, who knew full well that the info he mishandled was classified, so there’s your fourth lie.” Clinton is expected under the law to know full well what is classified and what isn’t, so the comparison of Petraeus and Clinton still valid. She allowed her civilian lawyer to posses, as of this post, 305 potentially classified emails.

“Yes, unlike Hillary, he did something illegal. That’s the first true statement you’ve made. I’m assuming it’s accidental.” Nope, entirely intentional.

“Good luck with your debilitating illness, loser, you’re pathetic.” What illness are you accusing me of? Considering I work in health care, it would be appreciated if you could send me your diagnosis so that I can potentially prevent infection to patients that I come into contact with.

Try an email that detailed how satellite images of a foreign country were to be used and how intelligence was being gathered and what it was being used for. You know, info that is the highest level of top secret. Nothing that’s important or anything.

      • Obewon August 14th, 2015 at 09:51

Google and ‘the public domain’ has what you errantly claim is classified. (R-SC) Gowdy’s retroactive classification relates to ‘future use’, not past use by HRC. Good luck. Nobody cares about the Clinton emails. Trump / Palin’16~

        • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 08:31

Uh oh, this story keeps getting worse and worse for you democrat lapdogs. 305 emails have been sent to intelligence community agencies to be reviewed for classified material. That’s five percent of the emails reviewed thus far. If this rate remains constant, that would equate to 1,500 classified emails being sent or received by SoS Clinton.

Wait, I just had an epiphany, SOS should be the new slogan for HC’s campaign! This could even be her theme song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMCZqKowlzM

          • Obewon August 18th, 2015 at 09:15

Nothing classified was sent or received on HRC’s encrypted server,

Isaa / Trey Gowdy “0 indictments” caught with their pants off now say “to be reviewed for classified material”-Lol after the fact – Zip!

            • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 09:52

Why don’t you try reading the sources you provide, since they are clearly contradicting your assertion that no classified material was on clintons server.

              • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 19:18

These Democrat and leftist dupes won’t turn against Hillary until Elizabeth Warren, socialist Sanders or Biden have taken the Democrat Party lead. Evidence doesn’t matter to them, only power and control over other people’s lives.

                • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 19:31

                  1) What’s the “Democrat Party”?? A new third party??

                  2) What’s a Leftist? (I maintain that most of you guys are of the ilk who called Eisenhower a communist).

                  3) “Evidence doesn’t matter to them” That’s EXACTLY what WE say about YOU.

                  That’s why Cokie’s Law is so potent;

From Cokie Roberts back in 1999:

“At this point,” said Roberts, “it doesn’t much matter whether she said it or not because it’s become part of the culture. I was at the beauty parlor yesterday and this was all anyone was talking about.”

And THAT’S why David Frum said, “Republicans have been Fleeced, Exploited And Lied To’ by a Conservative Entertainment Complex”

And why former Reagan aide Bruce Bartlett said, “Many
conservatives live in a bubble where they watch only Fox News on television, they listen only to conservative talk radio — Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, many of the same people,” Bartlett told CNN’s Brian Stelter on Sunday. “When they go
onto the Internet, they look at conservative websites like National Review, Newsmax, World Net Daily.”“And so, they are completely in a universe in which they are hearing the same exact ideas, the same arguments, the same limited amount of data repeated over and over and over again. And that’s brainwashing.”

                  • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 19:39

You have stated the exact obverse of what conservatives have said about you. I will stick with the evidence. Socialism doesn’t work.

                    • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 19:41

                      1) When might we see this “evidence”?

                      2) What socialism are you talking about?
                      Conservatives LOVE corporate socialism.

                    • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 19:52

Such as Solyndra and California’s greenergy giveaways. Yes YES!!

                      How so?

                    • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 20:01

                      How so, What??

                      That Conservatives LOVE corporate socialism??

They LOVE the bailouts, the subsidies for oil companies, tax increment financing, cost plus contracts, carried interest, deferred compensation, subsidies and property tax abatements and grant of public money to private businesses, not to mention the investments in R&D.

And Mitt Romney’s Solyndra, Romney, Konarka Technologies

They only hate Solyndra because , 1) Obama and 2) It’s green.

                    • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 20:22

Solyndra is to libs as garlic is to vampires and other blood seeking insects. Conservtives hate socialism and so corporate welfare. Socialists love corporate welfare when it feeds back into their power and control government tax, regulate and control bullshit.

                    • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 20:53

Cons have shown that they LOVE corporate welfare and big nanny state government when they like the outcome.
The difference is that liberals believe that wealth percolates up, while conservatives believe that it trickles down, which makes peons of us all.

                    • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 21:00

Statism defines liberalism and corporate welfare Controlling who gets the wealth also defines liberalism. Redistributing wealth also defines who wealth gets wealth trickeled down to. Socialism creates, defines and feeds the peons.. keeping everybody, including the “peons” incarcerated.. trapped.

                • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 19:33

18 USC 1924 is pretty clear cut; Clinton should be fined, imprissoned for one year or both for having classified emails in an unauthorized place.

Also, is anyone even thinking that Russia was able to breach the State Department’s and White House’s emails because HC was using an unauthorized and unprotected email server?

    • Obewon August 14th, 2015 at 09:46

HRC’s email and server were “Encrypted” by the former Secret Service experts she hired to ensure everything was “Secure.”

Reality point #2> “Two government inspectors general have referred issues related to Clinton’s email server to the Department of Justice for potential investigation. The (DOJ-FBI) said Friday, however, that the the referrals were not for a criminal investigation, contradicting earlier reports.”-NBC News, NYT, Alan.com, etc. http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/justice-department-probe-hillary-clinton-email-use “The New York Times Rewrote their (debunked) Headline.” <-Didn't FNC, WND et al update you?

        http://www.forbes.com/sites/katevinton/2015/03/11/researchers-say-clintons-email-server-had-no-encryption-for-her-first-three-months-in-office/

For the first 3 months she didn’t even have a certificate for the domain name. Absolutely no encryption at all. Even the most sophisticated encryption at her disposal couldn’t even rival a Fortune 500 company, let alone the encryption of the State Department, and all of those entities have been breached in recent past.

You’re an IT guy, right? You shouldn’t need a refresher on this, it’s your job for goodness sakes

      • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 07:42

You really have no idea what you are talking about. This is how criminal investigations, especially of high ranking politicians, begin Obewrong.

        From your own article:

“The Inspector General of the Intelligence Community informed Congress of its finding in a letter, saying the emails “were classified when they were sent and are classified now.” The emails should have been marked “secret,” the second highest tier of classification.” Yet, you and your liberal buddies continue to believe HC when she spouts off her political garbage, never actually answering any questions, just dodging, ducking, dipping, diving, and more dodging the issues.

And where are you getting your information on SS encrypting her server? And having a domain name with no certificate, especially when she travelled to China within the first couple of months as SoS, is very troubling.

        https://www.venafi.com/blog/post/what-venafi-trustnet-tells-us-about-the-clinton-email-server

And since you are a supposed IT guy, is it outside the realm of possibility that Clinton’s blatant misuse of government communications potentially caused the breach of the State Department and White Houses’ emails?

        • tracey marie August 18th, 2015 at 08:10

You need to get a life. Your entire existence revolves around Hillary and her living rent free in your teabagger head.

          • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 08:20

I have a life, I enjoy spending time on this site allowing the expression of ideas that are counter to mine. I have changed my viewpoint on many issues as a direct result of being on this site.

And I can assure you, Clinton is claiming the rent is too damn high while staying in my head. Everything she says and does is worshipped by you and your lacky friends, yet you have the gall to claim that she lives rent free in my head? Are you daft?

            • tracey marie August 18th, 2015 at 08:21

except you feel the need to attack and call names on this site. I will give you what you dish out. Politico and wnd seem to fit you better.

              • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 08:35

How is providing counter arguments attacking? And where have I ever referenced WND? Also, many on this site have expressed deep love for politico, merely using sites familiar to them.

If you have any sites that have information in contradiction to that which I have posted I would love to see a reference.

                • tracey marie August 18th, 2015 at 08:48

really, “obewrong” is a counter argument?

                  • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 08:50

Yes, considering his name Obewon is insinuating that he has won an argument before it has started.

Oh, are you out of lines to say now tracey?

                    • Obewon August 18th, 2015 at 09:25

You’re debunked and remain ignorant of the meaning ‘not classified when sent’. Lol.

                    • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 09:51

Did you even read your MSNBC article? The IG has stated that 4 out of 40 random emails contain classified material, and two contain classified material that was classified at the time it was sent and it is still classified now. Yet you continue to spout off that I’m debunked. This is truly laughable, and a new low even for you. It’s ok to admit you’re wrong every once in awhile obe, it’s ok. No one on this site will think less of you.

                    • Obewon August 18th, 2015 at 10:01

Nothing classified at that time, was sent or received by HRC’s email server. D’oh!

                    • bahlers August 18th, 2015 at 10:12

So that makes you, MSNBC, and the IG a liar then? Since you cited the MSNBC article clearly stating that two emails had classified material that was classified then and is still classified now. D’oh!

                    • Obewon August 18th, 2015 at 21:16

“He added: “As has been reported on multiple occasions, any released emails deemed classified by the administration have been done so after the fact, and not at the time they were transmitted.” http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/justice-department-probe-hillary-clinton-email-use In a statement early Friday, Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said she “followed appropriate practices in dealing with classified materials.”

Read again real s l o w… why there is NO DOJ FBI Criminal Investigation of HRC and NO indictment or any charges against HRC: “As has been reported on multiple occasions, any released emails deemed classified by the administration have been done so after the fact, and not at the time they were transmitted.”

”0 indictments”-Issa / Gowdy agreed in 8+ Benghazi investigations “No wrongdoing” “No stand down order” “No laws broken by the Obama admin or HRC” Go ahead and cling to WSJ faux news.

                    • bahlers August 20th, 2015 at 03:30

Funny how you are believing the HRC campaign official, despite the fact that the IG has reported evidence to the contrary. Who is the more objective source, one who is more respected and more credible? Thats right, you never have and never will care about quality sources will you? Just whatever will further your agenda. If there were no classified emails, why would the IG request that the server be looked at by the FBI? I’ll wait for an honest answer from you. Something tells me that I’ll be here awhile.

Just so you can have all of the facts from your own source, make sure to read this nice and slow, maybe two or three times since you have a poor reading comprehension.

“The Inspector General of the Intelligence Community informed Congress of its finding in a letter, saying the emails “were classified when they were sent and are classified now.” The emails should have been marked “secret,” the second highest tier of classification.”

                    • Obewon August 20th, 2015 at 09:20

The fact that there is NOT any DOJ FBI criminal HRC investigation, indictment, “evidence”, or charges beats the crap out of WSJ bullshit.

                    • bahlers August 21st, 2015 at 02:15

You should know better then that Obe. As of yet, no, there aren’t any charges being brought. Why do you think that is? And why do you think that HRC released her server now, of all the times to do it? And I like how you put quotation marks around evidence. Aside from the intelligence community’s IGs saying that two out of a random sampling of 40 emails contained classified info, which was classified then and now doesn’t sound all that damning does it?

                    • Obewon August 21st, 2015 at 09:35

You should know better. Bahlers went from GOP TV’s faux “unsecured” server/email <-debunked horseshit. To admitting HRC's encrypted server and email were "secured" within the first 90 days during her conformation hearings.. You're debunked by reality. Trey Gowdy leaked all over you. Clean yourself up. You're a failure. There is NO DOJ FBI criminal investigation of HRC. That closed without any charges or evidence against HRC. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/3bbcc379950eb3d7c138143d3a38e935b9611c41e5ec0a1b7685dd1b59993fef.gif

I hope the MODS won’t delete these gems since it exposes exactly how brainwashed and mentally disturbed these people have become. It shows everyone what we are dealing with and hopefully will motivate some of us to work toward getting people out to vote and informing them just how delusional and out of touch the wackjobs really are.
Just remember, these same people will actually vote for Donald Trump.

You still didn’t answer, What IS a leftist?

      • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 20:08

Not being leftist is why I know better. A leftist doesn’t regard markets as anything much to be regarded.

        • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 20:13

A leftist doesn’t regard markets as anything much to be regarded.

          _______

Still doesn’t answer ‘What IS a leftist??

I know of no one who does not “regard markets”.

We know, though that there have to be regulated markets.

Throughout history the world’s most successful economies have been those that have kept predatory accumulation of wealth in check. The US economy today has faltering largely because its past barriers against rent-seeking have been breached.

          • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 20:18

You have helped define leftist. Leftists don’t just regard markets, they hate them. You see predation as an excuse to disregard them. You would be then, a leftist.

            • OldLefty August 24th, 2015 at 20:50

Leftists don’t just regard markets, they hate them.

              _____

Nobody hates markets, nor does anyone disregard them.
              You confuse regulation with disregard.

We recognize predation in people, on the highways trying to get to where they want to go as easily and quickly as possible as well, which is why we regulate them and don’t disregard them.

              • Dancquill August 24th, 2015 at 21:54

Leftists disregard markets in order to regulate them and any other thing in their eyesight. If markets interest you, I would be interested in how so…? How do the realities of markets mitigate your disregard of their reality?

  17. OldLefty August 25th, 2015 at 08:25

“How do the realities of markets mitigate
    your disregard of their reality?”

    ______

    That is incredibly vague. Markets are defined as,;

“1. A medium that allows buyers and sellers of a specific good or service to interact in order to facilitate an exchange. The price that individuals pay during the transaction may be determined by a number of factors, but price is often determined by the forces of supply and demand.
    2. The general market where securities are traded.
    3. People with the desire and ability to buy a specific product/service.”

So what specifically are you claiming that anyone is disregarding?

In what way do you claim that anyone ‘disregards their reality”??

    • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 16:28

Markets and market forces are anathema to Karl Marx and most Marxists, although many have had to come to terms with the limitations market realities impose on socialist claims over them. Socialists attempt to manipulate at every point in the market, so I would like you to be specific and tell me, what part or parts of the market do you regard as impervious to socialist claims of government rule and control.

      • OldLefty August 25th, 2015 at 19:33

What did Marx say that compels you to say, “Markets and market forces are anathema to Karl Marx and most Marxists,”

Everybody knows that capitalists manipulate at every point in the market

Marx DID argue that the relentless drive for profits would lead companies to mechanize their workplaces, producing more and more goods while squeezing workers’ wages.

        We see that today

Marx talked about, “fictitious capital” – financial instruments like stocks and credit-default swaps.

That is EXACTLY what we saw on Wall Street and what Gram Leach Biliey and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 created and what brought about the crash of 2008.

He said that labor was a commodity, bought and sold on the market like any other commodity.
He predicted that mechanization and constant need to pay less for labor would result in a surplus of labor.

He said that “You would be altogether mistaken in fancying that the value of labor, or any other commodity whatever, is ultimately fixed by supply and demand. Supply and demand regulate nothing but the temporary fluctuations of market prices. They will explain to
you why the market price of a commodity rises above or sinks below its value, but they can never account for that value itself.”

        Can you refute it?

Marx was wrong about a lot, but he was right about a lot as well.

And I’m sorry, but the sentence, “what part or parts of the market do you regard as impervious to socialist claims of government rule and control”..
        ….makes no sense.

        • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 20:04

So, you do not support markets and did not find a single item about them you regard as sacrosanct. Markets exist for socialists to lord over and control. And when socialist run economies collapse they blame the markets and not enough regulation, control or price manipulation by the state. They simply dig deeper and deeper into running lives and businesses. Marx never understood “value” and could not account for market prices either, nor their value to civilization, free societies nor buyers and sellers freely dealing with one another.

          • OldLefty August 25th, 2015 at 20:17

So, you do not support markets and did not find a single item about them

            ______

Do you have any idea what you are talking about??

            “Support markets”???
That is like saying “So, you do not support transportation.

            Perhaps you should define “markets”.

I don’t even know if you know what the word even means.

I don’t think you know Karl from Groucho Marx.

            • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 20:28

Thanks for nothing. Your disregard for markets explains a lot. Why socialist economies fail, why collapsing government constructs can only be built higher and bigger and more totalitarian each time they fail. Socialists want to control transportation almost as much as they want to control and manipulate markets. BTW, Groucho made more sense than Karl did.

              • OldLefty August 25th, 2015 at 20:32

                What “disregard for markets?”?

I think the issue is YOUR disregard for any knowledge of markets , Karl Marx, socialism or capitalism.

Do you even know what the term markets means?

                • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 20:42

Do you even know what manipulation and control are about? I find you disregard markets only until you can exercise your omnipotent and all knowing control over them, and then they are useful to you. Marx nor you understood markets nor care to. Socialists continue that direction at civilization’s peril.

                  • OldLefty August 25th, 2015 at 21:00

You just keep repeating the same words and phrases while not saying anything.

If you want to say, “Here’s a SPECIFIC example of what I mean by “disregard markets”, or how manipulation by “socialists” as I [Dancquill ] use the word is different from the manipulation by “corporate socialists” that YOU [OldLefty] refer to”, then there is rational dialogue, but until
then, sorry, but you sound like a word salad. It’s starting to sound like you are just repeating a bumper sticker without knowing what it means.

                    • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 21:13

I’m sorry, I tried to use your words regarding “manipulation” by capitalists (or consumers) as socialism’s reason for being and favorite and only method of running our lives and markets.

                    • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 21:14

                      ________

                      You are not saying anything.
The point is that EVERYBODY manipulates markets.

                    • Dancquill August 25th, 2015 at 21:38

Some seek to get the best deal by bargaining with someone for something freely. And socialists seek to do it by imposing force.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 07:01

Plutocrats seek to purchase the legislation which tips the playing field in their favor.
What force are YOU talking about?

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 15:30

I am referring to those who seek to impose their will on the markets and people, rather than by trading money and goods or services. Plutocrat or socialist controllers such as Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mengistu exercised total power and control over markets and men and have earned the title of monsters too boot. I personally refer to them as “statists” as that was their basic tool for their ruthless treatment of others.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 15:43

                      That’s OK.

I am also referring to those who seek to impose their will on the markets and people, rather than by trading money and goods or services. Plutocrat or socialist controllers such as Hitler, Milton Friedman, Augusto Pinochet, , Anastasio Somoza
Sr and Jr, not to mention the Koch Brothers, the deVos Family, and George Soros.

Soros is a “statist for the 99% while the rest were statists for the 1%.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 16:07

I would add Obama, Mao and remove Friedman and add Greece and France socialist heads as well. The 99% socialists seem to have the worse track record for both murder and actually improving people’s lives. Hitler was a pretty strange one. I have a book “Hitler Speaks” where H enunciates many of his ideals, one of which was that he was a fulfilment and perfection of Marx’s and der people’s democratic ideals. They all drink from the same well though, with the exception of Koch and Friedman then. I have studied Friedman a little and can’t find much there statist, but I bet you will better inform me. I know he preached that laws against fraud and damaging other people and their property was about as far as the state need go, and its ultimate purpose.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 16:26

                      Ok.

I would add Bush and Reagan and the free market paradise of Somalia.

Greece is a problem because nobody pays taxes.

Socialists were the first people Hitler killed in what was called “The Night of The Long Knives. The Nazis believed that communism was dangerous
to the well-being of nations because of its intention to dissolve private
                      property and it’s atheism.

                      Hitler himself said:

“The German state is gravely attacked by Marxism.” Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, trans. by Ralph Manheim (Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1962), pp. 393-4.

“In the years 1913 and 1914, I… expressed the conviction that the question of the future of the German nation was the question of destroying Marxism.”

“In the economic sphere Communism is analogous to democracy in the political sphere.” Bullock, p. 102.

“The Marxists will march with democracy until they succeed in indirectly obtaining for their criminal aims the support of even the national intellectual world, destined by them for extinction.”

It required the whole bottomless falsehood of the Jews and their Marxist
fighting organization to lay the blame for the collapse on that very man
who alone, with superhuman energy and will power, tried to prevent the
catastrophe he foresaw and save the nation from its time of deepest humiliation
and disgrace By branding Ludendorff as guilty for the loss of the World War
they took the weapon of moral right from the one dangerous accuser who could
have risen against the traitors to the fatherland.

The internationalization of the German economic life had been begun even before
the War through the medium of stock issues To be sure, a part of German
industry still attempted with resolution to ward off this fate. At length, however, it, too, fell a victim to the united
attack of greedy finance capital which carried on this fight, with the special
help of its most faithful comrade, the Marxist movement.

                      The lasting war
against German ‘heavy industry’ was the visible beginning of the
internationalization of German economy toward which Marxism was striving,
though this could not be carried to its ultimate end until the victory of
                      Marxism and the revolution.

Reagan and bush actions and ideas were more directly responsible for a freer Poland and Eastern block economic ideas than statist Islamic and pantheistic Somalia.
As for Hitler’s statist socialism vs communist power and control seekers, It has always been that attempts at “pure” extreme versions of socialism always results in a blood bath between the socialist competing ideologies, resulting in assassination revolution and mass murder of each other’s sides. Power and control seekers are ever thus.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 17:35

Reagan and Bush sold weapons to Poland.
They are directly responsible for tripling the deficit and chipping away at the American middle class.
They also are responsible for propping up terrorist nations.

And Hitler was opposed to any form of socialism or communism, as was Mussolini.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 17:44

Thank God Bush and Reagan and the Pope supported Poland weapons and fax machines and printing presses.. Samizdat. Socialist and communists hate that weapon.. free press and thought.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 17:47

Mussolini Fascism is a statist ideology the FDR administration largely supported and tried to implement. Fascist tracts were passed out during FDR’s events by FDR officials who thought Mussolini had the right approach to the balance you admire.

                      What hooey.

The USSR was imploding on it’s own (JFK had more to do with that)

You know who else hates free press and thought? Plutocrats.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:10

ALL governments hate free press. Statist governments hate them the most. Socialist plutocrats such as Mao, stalin etc etc. Minimals governments such as what libertarians and right wing liberals prescribe have the least reason to fear a free press.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 19:15

ALL governments are statist to a degree.
I think that conservative governments are the greatest “statists” and probably do hate the free press the most.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:20

Especially conservative communist and socialist regimes. Murder seems to be a normal operating procedure. Mao and stalin and pol pot were “conservative” socialists in that they had perfected the state and any deviation represented a threat to all their lives and purposes. Millions were murdered for political reasons.. free press was non-existent.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:22

Socialism becomes very conservative once they gain control.. watch your backs.

And they did it all with the help of capitalists, who cleaned up.

You know how the Kochs made their fortune? Daddy built oil refineries for Stalin.

Mao, Stalin and polPot were brutal dictators who were not interested in markets.

                      Hitler, was a capitalist who was, that’s why American capitalists supported him, like;

                      William Randolph Hearst,
Joseph Kennedy (JFK’s father), Charles Lindbergh, John Rockefeller, Andrew
Mellon (head of Alcoa, banker, and Secretary of Treasury), DuPont, General
Motors, Standard Oil (now Exxon), Ford, ITT, Allen Dulles (later head of the
CIA), Prescott Bush, National City Bank, and General Electric.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:44

Socialism attracts capitalists who cannot see equality under the law as a fine principle. Socialism oks that idea and the flies gather as soon as the principle of inequality under the law appears. In order to survive they need to adopt socialist “principles”. Socialists promise to murder or impoverish these types, but rarely get around to it unless we are talking about stalin, lenin mao, pol pot and a few others. Hundreds of millions were murdered for this principle of inequality before the law… leftist so-called “justice”.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 19:47

Actually, socialism often attracts those who are interested in securing freedom and liberty for all, which is why American capitalists hate the Scandinavian countries, who were the only ones who weathered the crash of 2008 well, like Norway.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:57

These countries waver back and forth on more or less capitalism and individual decision making and political control over the means of production. They are not finished testing all the possibilities.

Armand Hammer too. Most liberal media such as the NY Times spent barrels of ink and their own credibility pretending communist Russia was in all our futures. “I have seen the future, and it works”.. Lincoln Stephans and all the NYT reports totally ignored the mass starvation engineered by stalin’s statist socialism.

                    • OldLefty August 27th, 2015 at 17:07

And the chairman of the NYT, Arthur O. Sulzberger, is the one who called for Walter Durante’s Pulitzer to be rescinded.

Friedman and the “Chicago Boys” required the brutal dictatorship of Gen Augusto Pinochet to impose his “free market” oligarchy on Chile.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 16:58

He “required” a dictatorship to exist? Was he temporarily in charge? Wasn’t it a Marxist dictatorship in charge that Pinochet overthrew. Many third world countries employed Friedman to create growth conditions by freeing them up from statist policies that locked them down into failing negative growth conditions.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 17:14

He “required” a dictatorship to impose his experiment on the nation. Salvador Allende was elected and overthrown by a CIA backed coup.

No third world countries have benefitted from Laissez Faire, while many have turned to communism to alleviate the greatest poverty, then elect socialists, then then see the middle grow, then become more capitalist, then see the middle a little more, the suffer from laissez faire capitalism, and start the cycle over as needed.

                      See Kerala in India.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 17:21

India has benefited from its more free market approaches ever since they gave up socialism. Venezuela and Greece have suffered from socialism and statism all along the way. Their cycles of statism to freer economies are only beginning again. Demogogues notwithstanding. China is another example of capitalism in the hands of statist communists who thought they could control markets through the state apparatus.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 17:32

India has benefited from its more free market approaches ever since they gave up socialism

                      _______

No, they have not, and they have not given up socialism. (I visit family there frequently)
There are many private and public owned businesses, (the state owns the railroads for example).
companies initially started under state are now being run as public-pvt enterprises e.g. ONGC (Indian govt has ~70% partnership while rest is available for public to invest and trade).
They often don’t accept high prices from pharmaceuticals, and the government will make the generic.

Again, Greece suffers from non payment of taxes and Americans suffer from no regulation on capitalism, in other words, oligarchy.

                      The best economies are combinations.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 17:40

Combining freedom of markets with socialism negates the one who is subservient. Statist politicians always benefit from a fascist approach to controlling services and production as they have a ready target to blame for failures. Greece statist politicians over promised on pensions and public expenditures and taxpayers can see this and see they are going to be the ones who pay for these damnable lies these statists told in order to gain control and power over the economy. They have been sucked into the socialist scam and think they can simply play the same game back in their faces.

                    • arc99 August 26th, 2015 at 17:45

Western Europe, specifically Scandinavia has an extensive network of socialist policies in place, including Norway’s nationalized oil industry.

Here in the USA, every man, woman and child in Alaska gets a free check every year funded by taxes on oil companies. There is no need to demonstrate financial need. The only requirement is to draw breath on Alaskan soil for a year.

The money is allocated per person, not per household. So a household with mom, dad and 3 kids will receive 5 checks which last time I looked averaged around $1800 per person.

Socialism works. Our allies in Europe know it. Republicans in Alaska know it too, they just won’t admit it or they pretend that wealth transfer via an oil royalty tax is not socialism.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 17:50

A royalty check from the government isn’t all socialists are going to demand in return for that check and you know it. They want to have that money for themselves to redistribute and not to be thankful to the oil drilling industry.

                    • arc99 August 26th, 2015 at 17:55

The fact that in order to respond to my post, you had to make up some hypothetical scenario out of thin air, speaks volumes.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I base my opinions on facts, not partisan conjecture from you or anyone else.

Given that the Alaska oil royalty income program has been around for almost 40 years, I think your predictions about what socialists will want are based more on your own personal biases than on any objective information or actual events.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 18:11

All of the socialist attempts at pure socialism were dripping in their rivals blood. Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Lenin, murdered anarchists, revisionists and competing socialist power seekers. They were usually labeled revisionists and dispatched without further proof. It is not conjecture to remember it. The French revolution suffered from the same thing. Rival socialists were murdered along with prostitutes, the rich, and those of noble birth.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 18:13

If socialists ran the scheme in Alaska, they would be making more claims for more control and power all along the way. Nothing you have said or implied contradicts that goal or restricts it.

                    • arc99 August 26th, 2015 at 20:22

when you have a counter argument that consists of something other than misinformed BS pulled out of thin air. let me know.

the Alaska oil income royalty program is a functioning SOCIALIST program right here in the United States of America. It uses taxation to redistribute wealth. Financial need is not a criteria in determining who receives the redistribution. The money is allocated equally to all people regardless of financial need. It is textbook socialism.

None of your deflecting, denial and pontificating changes that pertinent fact.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 20:30

socialism redistributes by need or class or race. This program gives to each according to his being a state resident.

                    • arc99 August 26th, 2015 at 20:38

It never fails. Right wingers always end up claiming that the Alaska program is not socialism.

Deny it all you want. But I guarantee you that the minute a liberal Democrat suggests such a program on a national scale where energy companies are taxed to provide a check to every man woman and child in America regardless of need, you and the rest of the right would be ranting about “socialist tyranny”

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 20:44

Yes.. giving the rich a check from themselves seems stupid. Tyranny? Coming soon.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 22:27

Paying the rich for being a resident of a state that happens to have lots of oil is a socialist idea.. Yeah… sure. You are correct of course.. Just without principle.

                    • Dancquill August 27th, 2015 at 15:18

Republican run Alaska isn’t much of an example of socialism Now you take Venezuela or Cuba and we are talking socialism running everybody’s lives and issuing the checks.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 18:57

Combining freedom of markets with socialism negates the one who is subservient.

                      _______

That make no sense. In unregulated markets the little people are always subservient, “negated” makes no sense.

All nations are combinations of socialism and capitalism, the left prefers the Scandinavian model while the right prefers the Chinese model.

The right loves fascist regimes because it allows them to control markets and distribute the wealth among their class.

Greek capitalists did not fund the pensions, (like many corporations here), and nobody pays taxes.

IMF admits: we failed to realise the damage austerity would do to Greece

                      http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/jun/05/imf-underestimated-damage-austerity-would-do-to-greece

Then we have, residents of North Dakota were given the opportunity Tuesday to vote their property taxes out of existence, and they chose not to take it.
Why? Property taxes fund local government.

It seems to be the American right who has been sucked into the plutocratic scam. That is what has happened to us over the past 35 years.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:06

Socialism believes in distributing wealth among classes. Marxism and class warfare. Free markets let the market players decide for themselves what they want to buy and pay. Socialism and fascism agree on politicians and bureacrats doing that.. they are just in a struggle for who gets what and who makes all the decisions.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 19:22

There is no such thing as free markets. There is always government intervention, either on behalf of the elites or of the rest of the people. Liberals believe in the former, while so called “free marketers” believe in the later.
Everything that has ever called itself a “free market” has engaged in wealth redistribution.
It has nothing to do with what people want or don’t want to buy, it has to do with who receives how much help from the government and who controls the government..

In OUR society, we have allowed the corporatists to write the law in such a way that redistributes the wealth to the very top, while weakening the middle class.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:33

Our Constitution prescribes equality under the law. That is about the best idea to prevent government favoritism and control by class. Socialism demands control over it all and doesn’t mitigate favoritism, but prefers it to equality under law. That is now Mao, stalin etc did it. Writing law to redistribute wealth is fine with you and other socialists. You just want to be the ones snapping the whip. You really don’t oppose applying nebulous terms and political grievance and class as a reason to punish and reward. Just depends on the rulers definition of these terms.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 19:44

It has nothing to do with equality. If if did, it would mandate the very communism you claim to oppose.
Our Constitution DOES direct the federal government to regulate commerce.
Our Courts have ruled that money equals speech, therefore money writes the law pertaining to the owner of the money’s industry, resulting in favoritism.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:50

Communism hates individual wealth and equality before law. They seek to destroy those kinds of differences applying unequal treatement before the law at every step of controlling societies.

                    • Dancquill August 26th, 2015 at 19:54

Money and placards and speeches all facilitate freedom of thought. The left hopes to get control of that too.

                    • OldLefty August 26th, 2015 at 20:00

Money and placards and speeches all facilitate freedom of thought.

Dark money with no disclosure and one on one meetings between people with big checks and secret PACS with lawmakers crush freedom of thought and self governance.
That’s why you never see a ceo knocking on doors.
That is the goal of the right.

The left hates freedom of speech except for their supporters. Class hatred overrides everything else. All classes knock on doors and publish and propagandize. Even the rich get to participate. Equality under the law.. you know?

The left hates freedom of speech except for their supporters. Class hatred overrides everything else

                      ______

That’s what the left says about the right.

Remember;John Ashcroft; “To those who pit Americans against immigrants, and citizens against non-citizens; to those who scare peace-loving people with phantoms of lost liberty, my message is this: Your tactics only aid terrorists, for they erode our national unity and diminish our resolve. They give ammunition to America’s enemies, and pause to America’s friends. They encourage people of good will to remain silent in the face of evil. “ (Sounds like the same right wing rhetoric we saw in 1933 Germany).

Press secretary, Ari Fleischer, condemned Bill Maher’s irreverent comic response to 9/11 by reminding “all Americans that they need to watch what they say, watch what they do.”

The couple Arrested in West Virginia for wearing an anti- Bush T shirts; Bush Rally Settles Lawsuit for $80,000
                      http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2007/08/secret-white-ho/

                      Not to mention the Dixie Chicks;
Tom, Hicks, Clear Channel’s former vice-chairman, is a Bush associate and Bush pioneer, admitted to the Commerce Committee that the Pro War, anti Dixie Chicks rallies were a top down, corporate endeavor.

Then we saw Gingrich, speaking at a Manchester awards banquet, said a “different set of rules” may be needed to reduce terrorists’ ability to use the Internet and free speech to recruit and get out their message; “We need to get ahead of the curve before we actually lose a city, which I think could happen in the next decade,”
Not to mention his 1996 GOPAC memo, Language; A Key Mechanism of Control.

                      The SLAPP suit, CaCi International v Randi Rhodes;
A SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) suit
against a talk show host because she read something that was already on the internet.

These are law suits that only the rich can afford and serve only to chill speech.

The right only likes free speech when THEY agree with it.

State Dept: Clinton’s Private Email Didn’t Violate Policy Updated August 26th.

Hillary Clinton was exonerated again by the State Dept, after the DOJ FBI found no criminal wrongdoing and closed the HRC criminal investigation July, 2015. But now House Intel chairman (R) Trey Gowdy apparently left his after the fact classified documents on His personal unsecured server! https://twitter.com/brianefallon/status/634781523187761152 Oops, that’s one media narrative flushed right down the toilet. State Department official John Kirby told CNN that her use of a private email address and server was not against policy in effect at the time she was Secretary of State.

That is, of course, what many of us have been saying all along — that this whole email thing is a big nothingburger meant to chip away at her popularity in support of the right wing goal of taking back the White House.

I’m sure we won’t see this lead the headlines on conservative news sites anytime soon, but there it is, nevertheless. http://www.alan.com/2015/08/26/state-dept-clintons-private-email-didnt-violate-policy/

Bush and Cheney weren’t born yet.. 1931 when the NY Times was proseletizing for socialism and lying their asses off for it. Many in the FDR administration also welcomed the idea of statist control over the economy and played off the propaganda. Fox News wasn’t around to push back so it took many years to publish books that refuted all the lies Walter Durante published… 31 articles in all that won the Pulitzer. Socialists welcomed these articles and statists world wide did too. You blame bush and cheney and fox news. That is how socialist still fail to deal with socialist murder, failure and anti- economic ideas. Fox and internet bloggers would have taken the NYT and Durante and the Pulitzer establishment to task.Socialists would have been nashing their teeth, their lies exposed.. instead of celebrating socialism as a working planned economy in the USSR.

Thank you for being so polite. While you and I seem to have 180 degree diff ideas and perspective.. we would likely be good coffee klatch partners. All I usually demand of my debate partners is no death threats. I have had quite a few.
